cam performer stereotypes
What are the common misconceptions that you believe cam customers / guests have about us webhosts? I'm only SPEAKING FOR MYSELF in this case and not for others. Mine would be:
1.) stupid/uneducated & /or lazy - For some that could be the case but for me it isn't. Some do this just for the money and as a way to make ends meet; nothing more nothing less. Some of us have degrees and have become unemployed due to unfortunate circumstances; some are currently in school & aspire to aim higher in life; some of us have jobs & use camming to supplement our incomes. It's not all I want to do is hang around all day and do nothing else with my life.
2.) desperate- I'm so desperate that I would risk my privacy & safety, compromise my integrity /pride just to gain & maintain a regular customers or to meet up with them. The perception is that if one is in the sexual industry they must be in the lowest point in their life and therefore they're willing to sell their soul to the devil just to make an extra buck and that they lack standards for themselves.
3.) hermits- My whole life doesn't revolve around the computer & camming around the clock. I run errands, visit family/friends, enjoy the oustside air, enroll in school, look for employment, watch T.V. and so on. There is more to life besides this and I'm not here to become a facebook buddy, look for love, or for my health but just to earn money and to move on.

4.) Low self-esteem
The misconception that we are - literally - "doing it for attention"; that we crave attention 24/7; our sense of self-worth is rock-bottom, and we crave compliments.
I like compliments, yeah, but the compliments that mean most to me come from people who know me personally. I already know I'm hot shiz - if I didn't, there's no way I'd be doing this in the first place! ;D People also don't realise how good we are at taking insults. Takes teh ballz.
