These are pretty much my goals as well. I also want flawless skin and healthy hair.
Does anybody have any recommendations on cookbooks that have a good variety of meal ideas/recipes for a fruit & veggie concentrated "diet" (lifestyle change.) I'm not planning on being a vegetarian I just want to significantly cut back on meat.
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
It would be amazing if we could wiggle our noses and blink like Jeannie and BOOM- perfect skin and hair all day every day. Le sigh... Until then, we have to work at it. >_<
I can't think of any particular cookbook for a fruit/veggie concentrated diet, but I'm sure a vegetarian cookbook could be helpful for those meals that you'd prefer to leave meat out of. It might also help to determine first when the animal-based protein is most beneficial for you to eat. Some cookbooks you might want to look into though are-
Zone Meals in Seconds : 150 Fast and Delicious Recipes for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
The Anti-Aging Plan: Strategies and Recipes for Extending Your Healthy Years
Fats That Heal, Fats That Kill: The Complete Guide to Fats, Oils, Cholesterol and Human Health
The Gerson Therapy: The Proven Nutritional Program for Cancer and Other Illnesses
Gerson Therapy Recipes with Detailed Cooking Instructions
All these books focus on a diet that is high in fruits and veggies, with little to no animal proteins. I can't promise they're what you're looking for, but I've been interested in trying them myself. Especially after I learned that the line of thinking between RC dieting and Gerson therapy is very similiar- a healthier, longer life through natural diet.
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
1) get back down to 115 like I was when I retired. Ugh. I miss that. I'm 135 now and feel disgusting. I've started doing pilates every day for an hour.
2) continue growing my hair out. I haven't blow dried it or dyed it for ten months. It's grown from shoulder length to bra strap length and feels awesome! I condition the ends, wash my body, then just shampoo the roots and recondition all of it. Works brilliantly, but now that it's not damaged anymore, my natural curl has come back with a vengeance.
3) Continue improving my diet! I'm eating meat again (which has corrected my low blood pressure issues and I'm never cold anymore!), and have cut out all high fructose corn syrup and eat nothing processed. We even make our own hummus and all sauces. :)
4) Keep my skin in the condition it's in. I'm lucky and have never had breakouts. I use cream to remove my makeup, never use soap on my face, and moisturise my under eye area as well as naso labial area with cocoa butter. I'm turning 30 next year and keeping these areas wrinkle free and youthful is very important to me!
5) staying vigilant about hydration!! After my dehydration scare in August, I drink exclusively water, 3L a day. My lips have gotten plumper, my skin looks impeccable, my kidney and bladder issues have eased up.
I guess my goals are mostly maintenance, but they're all super important to me.

Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
I've been trying to really get back into absolutely perfect shape for a long time... well let's say wishing not trying lol.. Just saw a facebook pic of an old stripper friend of mine and she's always been chunkier than me and she looks BANGIN' now... well that was enough motivation for sure... I'm gonna try to get to 120 which is really skinny for my height (5,7").. i feel like now I'm gonna make it.. that was the motivation I needed for sure...
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
Right now my goal is to clean up my eating habits and start doing Insanity to get rid of this evil fat that has been plaguing me since I started growing boobs. >_<;; Bring it, Shaun T! }:D
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
To get/keep my hair in better conditon, & to drag my treadmill in the bedroom, where I'll actually use it.
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
- Start running again. I was doing great until we moved in with the in-laws while waiting for our house to be built. Right now my treadmill is in storage and I HATE running outside. I'm DYING.
- Go on the Endometriosis Diet.
- Drink tons of water. I need to get my skin back in shape!
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
my goals:
1. Loose 15 or so pounds, want to be around 145. I'm 5 9 so thats in my heathy range.
2. Be toned and fit.
3. grow hair out
I'm thinking of doing P90X to acomplish 1 &2, and 3 just requires waiting, my hair is pretty short.
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
Buy a skin care system and use it everyday. My goals are to unclog pores in my T-zone and keep those nasty fine wrinkles under my eyes at bay.
Lose 30 more lbs and start working out.
Cut down on heat styling & washing my hair and get regular trims. Keep my color fresh as long as possible.
I'm getting my teeth professionally whitened here soon and my goal is to keep them white
Eventually I want laser hair removal
Been working on a full body "makeover" for a couple months now and hit a 2 week stall where I was super busy with school & work but now I'm ready to get back on track! Nursing school and stress has ruined my looks and I'm ready to get back to my old self.
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
1. Keep my hands off my face and get flawless skin.
2. Grow hair down to the "butt dimples" 4 or 5 more inches.
3. Maintain 123 lbs.
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!

This one kind of concerns me, Desuv. How tall are you? What is your bone frame like? I'm 5'1, overall very tiny (except my tits, which I want smaller), but dipping into double digits for me is ill advised. At 95 lbs, I'd cross the line into being underweight.
This prompts me to doing some research, as every weight (even unhealthy ones) has some sort of benefit...

My upper body... looks great. But my lower body is super chunky atm... I carry most of my weight on the lower half, so I don't really 'even out' until I'm down around 95 pounds or so.
You know yourself better than me, I just remember you looked healthy. Do you still kickbox?
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
^ My sister is the same height and frame as you. It's normal for her to fluctuate between 95 - 105 lbs, she never looks too thin to me. But there's always some girl who has to stop her and comment "OMG are you okaaay? Are you eating enough??" faking concern and trying to give her a complex.
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
I'm a bit too skinny right now, so i'd like to add 3-5 lbs. My face needs to look a little fuller again. I want my hair to look healthy again. Its so fucked up looking. Lots growing out and it looks uneven. I plan on getting acid peels and dermabrasia. That's all for now...
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
1. Ann Wigmore energy soup every morning (melon, avo or sprouted sunflower seeds, tons of greens)
2. keep up with yoga 3-5x week
3. lemon water, mate, and coconut oil throughout the day
4. a break from drinking until thanksgiving. stress made me overdo it last week
5. 100% off wheat
6. practice pole dancing and hooping on my own time 1x week to stay inspired at work
7. eat durian whenever i get sad. ^_^ really, durian is my antidepressant! and it makes me super horny too lol
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
Here are a few goals I've been working on/need to work on;
1. Drinking lots of water IN & out of work (I only drink water outside of work, cut out all sodas entirely..but I still drink energy drinks at work).
2. To lose another 10lbs (I've already lost 14 thus far, this next 10 has been much harder to lose).
3. Eat more fruits and vegetables (I've cut out a lot of carbs and sweets...so that's a start). I've been really good about watching how much butter and salt I put on my food too. Any other diet ideas you ladies use??
4. Start caring for my hair so it's much healthier looking. *This I need major advice on. I've started highlighting it this past summer, my hair is super fine/easily damaged naturally...and I don't know what to do to fix it.
I've at least started my goals, which is definitely a good thing for me....as I have a tendency to procrastinate! Lol. I just need to stay focused and work harder on them to keep things going the way I want them to. ;)

I'm 5'9" (thought I was 5'8" but I got measured last week) and am happiest at 115. I was that much when I retired last December. I don't look sick at all at that weight. It's a matter of body composition and personal preference.
I can promise you Desu hardly looks sickly in the double digits.
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
I'm glad to hear that the weight is not a dangerous issue in your case, Desuv. Since I have recovered from eating disorders ranging the spectrum (went from anorexic/bullimic to compulsive eating in a year's time. Fucking ex-husband...) and have known plenty of other girls who have suffered from them, it always raises a red flag in my mind when I hear an adult woman talking about double digits.
As for myself, I feel that I look good around 110, but I look my best around 100lbs. I've also developed one of those "complexes" that Jade mentioned. Unless my health appears to be seriously at stake, some bitches need to just shut up. I keep my "fattie/scrawny" opinions to myself, so don't tell me to eat a second burger when you need to be ordering a salad! /rant
lovely, try going to a pro to deal with color issues if you're having problems doing it at home. After the way I fried mine during my last little fiasco, I will NOT bleach again at home. Other than that, all I can think to say is the typical stuff- avoid sulfates, wash every other day instead of daily, and detangle gently with a comb.
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
She looks good & has a plan...about to be Deadly DesuvsDeath!
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
Brazil Butt Lift is a go! Ordering as soon as I have the extra coin.
Decided against Be-Wholesome. Due to the development of very heavy periods (usually use super and super plus tampons, but I've had to go up to ultras and sometimes use a pad for backup) I've decided to get kinda custom with my supplements. One prenatal daily, iron for when I'm menstrual, lithium orotate, pearl powder, and vitamin E. It's a lot of pills, but beauty starts with a healthy body, right?
Does anyone know the nutrition facts on the Be-Beautiful vitamin pack?
Re: Beauty/Fitness Goals!
I really want to get back to 116. I've been fluctuating from 120 to 122 the past few weeks and I know its such a small difference, but my confidence goes waaaaaay up when I feel I look my best. 116 for me is slim with flat stomach but still with my ass and boobs.
