Transitioning from Dancing to Camming... or any other job...
So did u struggle at first? I started camming about 2 months ago full time.... and i havent danced in about a month i make pretty good money camming even though i just started, but money is tight! My bills are pretty high monthly im trying to think of ways to cut back but Damn dancing spoils u! I could go back here and there but i reeeeally dont want to unless ive got a trip coming up or i need the money badly, because i dont like the club anymore and i work in a city where theres really only one good club, but the club has changed so much within the last 6 months.
So any advise on making the change? I'm thinking cam more lol idk I'm sure there's no Golden secret but just wanted to know what u ladies thoughts are!
Re: Transitioning from Dancing to Camming... or any other job...
I started camming off and on in July from dancing. At first I didn't have the patience for camming (sitting for some hours, trying to be entertained, dealing with weirdos that you can't see) so I went back to dancing for a bit. Just about 2 weeks ago I gave camming another try and I seem to make pretty good money now gaining patience (which is IMPORTANT). I still dance some days a week (I like to have the money in my hand at THAT moment even though I have daily pay) and cam too.
Try and dedicate a certain amount of hours a day and STICK TO IT. Discipline is the key and you won't want to dance anymore.
I honestly can't 100% break away from dancing; it's permanently in my blood now lol.

Re: Transitioning from Dancing to Camming... or any other job...
I want to do the opposite, transition from camming to dancing. I don't have the body for it yet but I'm getting there. I've lost a lot of weight I just need to tone up and get rid of the excess flab. My plan is to get good at camming and get a pole and practice on that... on cam probably lol, then start hitting the clubs.
Not trying to hijack the thread just thought I'd put in that thought and see if any of the dancer to cam ladies thought that was a good idea or not.

Most girls making way more dancing than camming, I've noticed. The only exception to the rule is BBWs (clubs won't hire them so they can't dance), the super top cam girls (like the top 30 on any cam site - $$$), and girls that have been camming for years (regulars $$$).
I left dancing (well I do travel dance here & there) for health reasons. I would have stuck with dancing if the money in the clubs in my city wasn't horrible, they didn't require a minimum of 3day/week schedule, and if the management at the good clubs weren't assholes & didn't call you fat with a BMI higher than like 18. That's too much to deal with when you have health issues that strike when they feel like it.
Why don't you just work both? A lot of girls do that. Or average your hourly for both (it will probably be higher with dancing), then weigh the pros and cons of each and then pick one.

I personally like dancing better but I do both which equals DOUBLE income which I like since I <3 money }:D

i think that's probably true, but it really depends.
i've mostly danced in florida, and in the summer i'd gladly cam over going to a club. it sucks walking in not knowing if you'll even make your housefee back, but having to get nude onstage and deal with dudes trying to get a free grope by pretending they're gonna spend money. then 6 hours later, maybe averaging 100 a shift, and that's at the better clubs. i'd rather stay home. at least that way i can take breaks when i want and read a book if it's slow.
a lot of other places are just as bad or worse, sometimes all year. from what everyone says about socal, camming seems way better than trying to dance there.

True for better or worse. As discussed in other threads, due to the persistent bad economy the webcam industry is experiencing a 'glut' of new webcam girls who, while beautiful and talented, lack any truly 'outstanding' features / credentials that can grab customer attention. More girls competing for the same number of 'regular' customer dollars, by definition, means lower earnings. But this also means that other girls who aren't competing for 'regular' customer dollars, but who are instead competing for 'niche' customer dollars ( i.e. porn star fans, fetish fans, 10+ fans etc. ), aren't anywhere near as negatively affected.
In terms of a strip club analogy, the 'glut' of non-'outstanding' new webcam girls is kind of like a club that formerly had say 20 dancers ... two extremely hot dancers ( 10+ ), two fetish dancers ( huge boobs, 6'3" showgirl, whatever ), two long time dancers with a huge number of regular customers, and 14 non-'outstanding' dancers ... suddenly allowing another 10 non-'outstanding' dancers to start working. This change isn't likely to have much effect on the extremely hot dancers or the fetish dancers or the long time dancers, but it would have a profound effect on the non-'outstanding' dancers.
Re: Transitioning from Dancing to Camming... or any other job...
Yah i could do both but my thing is i like to cam during the day and dance at night so id b in bed by lke 3-4 and then need to be up and on cam by 10 lol but yes "I love money" too lol
so i think ill just do it when i need to its just the club i work at sucks .... in alot of ways other than money ways cause i always make money there but whatever i gotta just suck it up!
I kinda just wna work my ass off on cam til i get where i need to be .... cause i know its all about consistency so ill probably just go whenever i need to and not really make a schedule to go to the club cause if i do that ill probably start slacking with camming! Thanks girls :)
XO
Re: Transitioning from Dancing to Camming... or any other job...

Re: Transitioning from Dancing to Camming... or any other job...
I dance on Friday and Saturday and cam all week for 3-5 hours. I only cam 1-2 hours when I dance Friday and Saturday I just get on cam before I leave for work. I like having so many sources of income. I cam on mfc and SM currently and I know it takes self-discipline to cam everyday and dance too on the side.

That's the best formula. I'm telling you.
