Waitressing at a strip club?
i'm 18 and i've worked in the serving/restaurant industry for awhile and made pretty decent money. i just lost my job, and there's tons of advertising for servers/waitresses in strip clubs in my area (seattle). at my previous job i was making anywhere from 2400-3000 bucks a month in tips and hourly.
i have always considered dancing, i'm a fit, young, pretty girl. how is the money for waitressing in a club? obviously not as good as dancing, but i could possibly use it to get started?
i don't think i would try waitressing in a strip joint if i could make just as much serving at a regular restaurant.
ladies, your input?

Re: Waitressing at a strip club?
most waitresses i have found try dancing or are dancers who need a change of pace.
some are just waitresses but its very rare, but a great starting point

Re: Waitressing at a strip club?
A strip club is closer to a bar than to a restaurant. There will be more flirting and offers at a club (at least from customers).

Re: Waitressing at a strip club?
Guess I'll be the one to say it. What's the difference between a waitress and a stripper?
....two weeks.

Re: Waitressing at a strip club?
If done right a waitress can make very good money...men want what they can't have.
in the right club..

Re: Waitressing at a strip club?
you make bank waitressing in a high end club but being 18 they likely wouldnt hire you...
try Hooters or Winghouse...

My brother in law works at a club as a floor host and he has said this FOREVER. I was thinking it as I was reading the first post, but you beat me to it!

LOL, so true! I do know one gal that managed to hold out for ten years but finally gave in last year. She went from waitress to bartender and was even the clubs house mother for five or six years...

Re: Waitressing at a strip club?
I have a very close friend that has waited tables at the Cheetah here for a while & she pulls in 60-80k a year easy...even called me this week & told me about her $1300 night. Your hustle must be strong & you need to make friends with some top girls & work together. She would flash for the right cash & that is seldom so the dancers didn't mind but when she did $$$$.

Re: Waitressing at a strip club?
Waitresses can make great money at the SC. What you'll see is that the most successful waitresses are generally unattractive, and many of them are older. It takes a LONG TIME to establish good regulars at the club as a waitress, and the offers to dance never stop, from customers, other dancers, staff, etc.
To be a good waitress you need to be fucking GOOD. Most young waitresses come in there and get drunk on the job, are slow, lazy, and stupid...hence, stripping is a better fit for them.
Its a hard job to do well in, and it takes a long time. A newbie stripper can start making hundreds of dollars a night right off the bat.

Re: Waitressing at a strip club?
Yep..your going to have to work harder waiting tables.

Re: Waitressing at a strip club?
I waitressed before I danced (same club) and waitressing is tougher. You have to wait it out and make yourself known before the money rolls in. I remember many nights using all my tips to tip out and couldn't even cover my parking fee. Most girls came in expecting great money right away and you cant really do that. You have to wait it out until management sees your great and can handle bottle service and parties. That's where the money is. When you handle the bottles and parties that's when you get the percentage and big tips.

And in terms of money....obviously your money will go up as you get better, but if you work at a club that has a lot of VIPs and bottle service....you can make pretty awesome money right off the bat because you will be assigned to the bottle service tables and get that 20+% gratuity immediately. Not to mention, some dancers may choose to start a $$$$$ relationship on day one.
Exception rather than the rule.

Essentially you have to show your tits as a stripper and you don't as a waitress.

I think you were trying to be funny there but this just isn't true at all, they are two completely separate jobs, with stripping being more lucrative and overall physically easier, but often harder mentally.
Yes, giving lapdances and stage dancing is much easier than busting your ass running around all night with huge trays of food and drink. Strippers get to sit down, and once you get used to the workout of dancing, its not really that physically exhausting.

^^^The night that waitress made good money they brought in almost 40k in Cheetah bucks..you have to be where the money is to get a %.

I was trying to be funny; you gals handled the detailed part of the discussion.

Re: Waitressing at a strip club?
At my advanced age, if bad luck befalls me again, I'd still rather strip at some shitty old dive then ever wait tables again.

Re: Waitressing at a strip club?
Stripping can be hard on the body too though, not sure what I meant by my comment. My left hip is still fucked up and my knees finally recovered. But the feeling of your feet hurting so bad at the end of the night because waitresses have to stand and run around more often...that's misery.
Really, I guess what I meant was that stripping is a better job for me because the money is better and I like to act like a slut anyway. ;)
