Re: Changing your character/personality to make more $$$
I've started slowing morphing into a club character when I'm there. Started with a half wig, then eyelashes, then a tan and then my club character even started to develop her own tastes in clothing and drinks. To have a clearly defined separate person who essentially "works for you" makes the job incredibly easier and more fun (it's like acting!). She has a bubblier, ditzy personality, but when she gets rejected it doesn't hurt me. It helps my money, because my character is ballsier and more willing to put herself out there to make me money. It makes it so easy to compartmentalize my work life, because it literally feels like someone else's life.
On the other hand, my club character has to watch how much she drinks because her and I both develop an eastern European accent when we drink. I have no idea where that comes from, but reading these other posts, maybe I ought to embrace it?

I learned a few phrases and even studied the accent so I could make mine as accurate and believable as possible. I also tried to make my body language and gestures appear to be that of someone who didn't completely understand what was going on, lol. It all sounds so silly when I'm typing it out but I swear, when I was in character it was so much easier for me to work. I'd approach everyone and actually hustle(*I* never hustle!)--and I had no fear of being rejected(which is a huge issue of mine) because it wasn't actually me that they were insulting or rejecting. Overall, it was a really fun experience! Though I am just myself at work now, I think I would actually benefit from doing this again.
I've tried so many times to just be a vampier/sexier/bubblier/enhanced version of myself but I still feel innately, like myself. When I speak in an accent I feel like there is a switch that goes off and I go from myself to work character.
Ohh u are so lucky customers did not really speak Russian. I am Turkish but my accent sounds so Eastern Europen some reason dont know why, sometimes sounds so German depends to my natural pronouncation.I WAS so sick one day about questions about if i was RUSSIAN OR UKRANIAN or any kinda eastern european. I am eurosian but i did not feel like explaning people over over again. Than i said yes i am ROMANIAN. Than customer start speaking Russian and i speak only little Russian, He kept comin back all the time and he asked for help For his Russian classes he even brought his friends who can speak fluent Russian... damn it i was so unlucky it was pain in my ass and never told lie again. U are so lucky actually u did not meet someone could speak fluent RUSSIAN!

^lol. No way, I'm sure you don't sound like Borat, customers probably love your accent!^^ getting caugt in a lie sucks though!! In the states I worked at a club with alot of eastern europeans and people would ask me if I was Russian I would say 'yes' and then they would start speaking to me in Russian or they would ask me a bunch of questions about where I was from and I'd be like '....' and then I'd just walk away in shame, lol.

Dominique is my alter-ego. When I walk in the club and "get into character" (makeup, cute outfit and positive mindset) , I turn into Dominique, a sexy, driven, exotic, hustler that kjnows what she wants and will manipulate every man in the club to get it;) She's sheisty and easily makes men empty their wallets. She does this by exuding confidence, walking proud and believing she;s the hottest woman in the room. So thats the character i experiment with. Much like myself but amped up. She is very seductive, outgoing, fun, sweet, polite, feisty, fresh, and sexual. very flirty, smiles a lot, and touchy feely. Even when I dont feel like working, I know Dominique would kill it every time. This is the character of what works for me. It worked to create a character that is every mans fantasy to make yourself alluring and irresistable.
Re: Changing your character/personality to make more $$$
I had been asked if I'm from (insert any eastern European/Slav/Middle Eastern country in here) despite I'm from Puerto Rico!
What's worse? People who are actually from those places think I'm from over there too. Like for example:
-I was working in a club in Richmond and one of the waitresses was Russian, and when we met she asked me if I was from Russia, or from Ukraine.
-I had some cheap asses from Morocco, and they asked me if I was from a Semitic country.
-A dancer from Kazakhstan asked if I was from over there too, or if I was from Uzbekistan.
-After a shift, I went to 7-11 and one of the employees started talking to me in Arabic.
I'm seriously considering learning Russian or Arabic so I can actually pull this thing off. I mean, if the actual people think I'm from their country I might just as well adopt it for stripping purposes.

Guys like that usually think you'll give them some sort of deal or discount if you're the same ethnicity. Especially if they are from ethnic countries where bartering is common. So play it up! Overcharge or make up fake deals (dances are 2 for $60... when really they are $20/each... then negotiate to 3/$60 or 2/$50... things like that! where you don't actually lose money.), then they will feel like they are getting a deal when they really aren't. Bonding over (fake) ethnicity is ALWAYS an easy way to build rapport. I'm *always* half Italian, half whatever the customer thinks I am ;).
