what to wear?
This may be a stupid question but what are you suppose to wear for auditions? I know some places tell you in advance but what if they don't? Alsooo I know that dancer outfits can get expensive so what do i wear until I'm makin enough money to buy the clothes and shoes that I'll need?
Thanks in advance ladies!

Re: what to wear?
Call and ask the club what the dress code is, and wear that. Or if you can, go pay them a visit and see what the girls are wearing.
You can get pretty cheap dance stuff off the internet, usually much cheaper than at the sex stores. Try snaz75.com
They also might have a costume lady you can buy something from.
If you really can't afford that right now, just improvise. If it's a bikini club, try wearing a cute but cheap bra. Some topless clubs make you wear "regulation" thongs (just a standard stripper thong, like the kind Bodyzone makes. The part that goes over your crotch and up the butt crack is wider than normal thongs, to keep everything covered).
If it's a gown club you may have to spring for a gown.
If you really can't afford stripper shoes, wear the most comfortable least ugly heels you have. Buy legit shoes ASAP.

Re: what to wear?
If the club doesn't have a dress code, a bra & panty (or bikini) set or mini dress can be good go-to outfits as they're easy to take off and most ladies already have them at home. There's no point shelling out money on outfits when you're not even certain you're going to stick with this job, and after a few weeks on the job, you get a better idea of what style of dress works best for you (often rendering many outfits bought pre-dancing useless). Just find something in your closet that you feel sexy in and is easy enough to take off and put back on quickly, and rock that for your audition and first shift. Good luck!

Re: what to wear?
If you can, go see what the girls are wearing at the club you'd like to work in. Stripper shoes are fairly necessary. You DO NOT want to show up in a pair of 3" Payless pumps.
You can find some cheap starter clothes and shoes online. All you need in one good pair of stripper shoes and a couple outfits until you start to make money. If you really can't afford even one outfit before you start, try to find a cute bra and matching booty shorts (with a thong underneath), or the shortest, tightest dress you own or can borrow, depending on what type of club it is.
You can find some reasonably priced stuff at

There are some $20 dresses here (scroll to the bottom):

And AMI clubwear has platform heels starting at under $10.

Although, if this is your first time dancing, I would suggest that you get a pair of shoes with an ankle strap. If you really want to buy a pair of shoes with no ankle strap, one trick you can do is to use garters to hold them on your feet. You just wrap the garter around the heel a couple of times and then use the rest of the garter around your ankle. This can look okay if the garters match the shoes well enough. Here are some cute ankle-strap shoes at AMI for under $30:

Re: what to wear?
^I do not recommend retail store clothes at all!

Re: what to wear?
The outfits are really easy and cheap to make yourself if you have a sewing machine. I make clothes for other girls at the club and I only charge $25 per outfit. It's a nice little side business, cuz we broads always got cash...lol. Otherwise, just grab a bra and pantie set from Target or Ross or something like that. Also, if you have any short tight tunics that you would normally wear with leggings, that can also work as a minidress.

Re: what to wear?
^x2. And most of by best earning outfits came from retail stores!

Re: what to wear?
When im in the US I always get loads of cute outfits from Ross or TJmaxx (lingerie department).Often they are only around $10 and good quality.

Re: what to wear?
My fave outfits are from the lingerie department of places like Charlotte Russe, I never had a problem with regular retail outfits either

Re: what to wear?
Most of the time newbs can be forgiven for not having stripper outfits. My first stripper outfits was a hand me down pair of Payless pumps and a $10 bra and pantie set from a crappy flea market in downtown El Paso. Just make sure that you invest in good stripper shoes because "church shoes" will batter your feet.
I tend to mix and match retail with my stripper gear, but unfortunately these days due to certain, er changes I'm somewhat limited in my options for retail. }:D
