New SM cammer, percentage?
Not sure if this is the right area, but hi I'm new and have been browsing here a few times learning about starting camming. I just started SM - literally just got my profile, pics, character all set up. Have been watching other girls and just doing basic research on how SM works for the past week. Was wondering if anyone might know, I was curious about this - I asked SM about the pay and they told me it's 25%. I've read a few posts on this site and others that you get 35%. I don't have gold shows enabled yet just private and do have HD set up. Is this new? Or is it because I'm new? Or is 'gold' 35% while privates/exclusives are 25%? They did not clarify and only said "Models earn 25% pf total earnings."
I did read the SM thread but couldn't find info there... but anyways thanks for reading this and I really do appreciate your input. This site is a valuable resource for this so called socially unaccepted taboo work8)
Re: New SM cammer, percentage?
Hi,
Yes, you are in the wrong area. This is more for newbies to dancing, this is where camming questions and discussion happen
It is 35% across the board. Gold, privates, gold shows.
If youre being told it is 25% youre probably in contact with a studio (most likely if your emails are not from anyone with an @streamatemodels.com address) or Customer Service made a typo (less likely).
Re: New SM cammer, percentage?
Sorry about that. Now I see, it was through i-camz. The paperwork I scanned and sent only has Streamate on it, but yes my email and message was sent from @i-camz. Since it was only a week ago I signed up is there any likelihood of me getting out of it and signing up directly with SM? I contacted them about it and waiting for a reply. I said I just wanted to work with them independently and solely through them. I wasn't aware that a studio was an online signup, I thought a studio was a physical location and such. That really sucks.

Hey, It's actually okay to post newbie stuff here for camming :) The girls in camming connection get kind of unhappy about seeing newbie posts, so it's probably good you posted here ;) Haha anyway, I think that you can talk to them about it and get is resolved, or possibly just sign up again, but without signing up through a studio. I'm not 100% sure, so I really recommend e-mailing someone from SM and seeing what they tell you to do :)
Re: New SM cammer, percentage?
^iawtc, ask SM for a permanent account closure, hope it goes through, and then reapply on your own. When you reapply, use a different email address and a different screen name than your original application.
If that fails -and your studio somehow has you stuck with them for a year, possibly contact PrincessJenny through her dailypay website, sign up through her (youll earn 5% less but no binding contract) and if you want to leave her service after a bit you can and go back to the full 35%.
My suggestion is ignore your studio when trying to leave them - just bypass them altogether, dont ask for their permission or help. A studio's goal is to keep you with them, not help you out.
Hope it gets sorted
