Chaturbate, for reals.
I told myself I wasn't going to start this thread, but I can't sit back anymore :P So, here it goes.
I work on Chaturbate (OH GGGS!). I've worked there since I started camming, and I honestly don't think I would ever walk away from that site. I've never had problems. Actually, I've had a lot of GOOD things happen to me on that site. If you aren't getting e-mails back fast enough, please message punker babe from this site, because she is SO helpful and kind. And about the virus situation, I've NEVER had an issue like that. I really doubt that that's from the site, because I worked it last night and had no virus or complications. Yes, sometimes they have connection issues, but lately that's been normal with a few different cam sites, and the guys will wait patiently for you while you fix it.
My favorite thing about this site is how amazing the different guys can be, and the hourly contest. I almost always get 1st or 2nd place when I'm on, and I usually have all my clothes on doing so. And the guys that have tokens can sometimes just go crazy with them. At least once every week I'll have one of my regulars (or a new guy who becomes on) who will suddenly come on the site and just throw money at me for every new goal, or just because he likes me. They tell me they love me quite often XD I make $100 easy on that site after working for an hour most of the time. I've had times where I've made $400 in an hour and a half. When these guys get to know you, and start to love seeing you every day, you fall in love with working there.
I know they've got a bad rep with the girls on this site, but I just wanted to share my experience. I definitely recommend this site to newbies just starting out and needing to get comfortable and start learning the ropes, and I think it's great for girls who already know camming and just want to make money having fun. I'm sorry if this upsets anyone :( I just wanted to say it.

Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to, though it does seem to the general consensus here that Chaterbate sucks. But I know a couple girls who really love it.
I've only checked it out briefly. Is it kinda like MFC? I mean, where you preform in public chat for tips?

It's a lot like MFC (girls say that chaturbate ripped it off, I can't say I know for sure), but you do do a lot of your performing out in the public chat. You don't have to fully take your clothes off there if you don't want to, but it's something that a lot of girls don't mind doing. Guys can take you to privates and groups (I don't believe group chat happens a lot), and when they do they tend to be in there for a LONG time. And you can get PMs from the guys, and even block the guys who are talking who don't have tokens and can't tip. I love knowing that if I'm just getting a lot of greys (guys without tokens) I can just block them from talking and it can be just guys willing to pay.
I know a lot of girls here hate the site, which is why I wrote this :) I wanted to put in my two cents before I see that there is no hope to discuss Chaturbate on this site. Personally, I love it, and would love to help people get involved in the site and learn how to use it such.

Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
Oh alright I'll come out of hiding
I also adore chaturbate.
I do think it's alot like MFC however..chaturbate actually works for me.MFC doesn't like me at all.
And I do not even do countdowns,or really do anything other than sit and amuse myself by insulting most of the guys.In fact I'm usually dressed and simply ignoring them and I still make money.
Enough that I get a check everytime, without even trying.
Another bonus I personally like about chaturbate is the ability to promote moderators in your room.
There are of course alot more beggers in my opinion than MFC alot of foreign guys who say open ____bb
I also agree with the virus crap. I've been using chaturbate a month or two with no issues.
-
Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
As far as I was aware there isn't even an option to earn money there apart from the "contest" winnings?
-
Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
Of course there is.
It functions just like MFC the guys spend money to buy tokens and then they spend the tokens on you
The contest is just an added bonus if your doing well you get rewarded even more
You can also earn more tokens by getting people to sign up. They don't even have to pay or spend anything just sign up and you earn a few tokens per person

No you can make a LOT of money on that site O_o That's where most of my money comes from. I just started MFC, and I do just fine there, but Chaturbate has been making me money since day one. Maybe it's the fact that most girls don't even think twice about the site, so there are few models there, but I have tons of followers and make my rent there no problem. I've got rent paid for this month just from working Chaturbate (and some MFC) from the 3rd to the 6th this month.

Woot! Another Chaturbate girl out in the open! :D I love how if you spend time just making fun of a guy the others will laugh along with you and tip you just for making them laugh. I swear, the guys on this site (who aren't just beggars) are the very best!

Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
[Bias notice] This is not meant as an attack on you or anyone else who performs on that site - honestly Im surprised there is a $50 minimum payout that ppl actually seem to be meeting. That wasnt the case 6months ago. Also note that their advertising methods here and its first impression will lastwith me for a very long time:
I think Chaturbate sucks.
Not because of its real or imagined earning potential.
Let me be clear: Im attacking the site (and probably always will like a shrill crazy person) and what the site represents in terms of changes and slackerdom in the camming industry.
The site has rapidly changed from when it first launched here - dramatically so. They even have privates which is a shellshock. Which, hey, good for them. It used to just be dongs, recordings, and voyeur cams. Honestly I think because theyve saturated SW with its spam... but at least they paid attention to user feedback. Unfortunately my first impression of them will always be messed up.
The 2257 exemption notice on their site (exempt? for a xxx adult site? ok. they use dto not have a 2257 notice at all lol so I guess that is an improvement), the flood of affiliate ads and spam for other sites (no confidence in your product?), and that no IDs need to be submitted anywhere makes me ill though. I guess you legally retain copyright since there is no contract and the 2257 notice implies you do which is a uh... bonus. Especially since a selective google of a few names on the main page brings up pirated videos. It is a great way to deal with DMCA 101.
Im biased since I hate all cam4 and camfuze clones, I think those sites are the bowels of the camming industry. All of those sites operate illegallly and are plagued by rumors of underage performers (which you cant refute or affirm since they arent 2257 compliant). The liability burden of that inevitable clusterfuck will fall on the model and the site's legal disclaimer very clearly states that. There also is no contract for the performers, that is a huge problem. Those kinds of risk are not something to be taken lightly as an adult independent contractor... at all. Like, at all. They are not your employer, you have to be very discriminating about who you choose to do business with because they dont care.
Im kind of shocked Payoneer partners with them, actually Im kind of disturbed given I use Payoneer for sites that actually comply with law. Look I get it is the adult industry and it is always rapidly changing, but ffs there are the most *basic* regulations one can follow before making a mad dash for money.
But I have to give it credit - it may be the only site that has advertised itself to death on SW within weeks of launching and somehow managed to remain live, adapt, and still actively recruiting participants out of sheer will alone. Way to pave the way for the many others that are sure to come.
Chaturbate's business address is foolishly in the UK though which is very strict bout age verification of adult performers... Cam4 and CamFuze at least go to random places like Paraguay where enforcement is more of a vague possibility.
Chaturbate is ahead of the curve it seems in terms of English speaking performers. American and EU performers enabling this kind of adult business model is a dangerous precedent to set, and it just bums me out. When Chaturbate inevitably falls or collapses underneath an unexpected lawsuit either over 2257 compliance or hell even stealing the same script of all of its competitors --- it wont be a shock. It is riddled with red flags of its impending collapse. SupportMyWish collapsed after MGF sued them over using their script, I mean check the source code of their site and compare it to their competitors. The same thing will happen to these guys as well. Model earnings is not all they rely on - so if they collapse, you have no legal recourse at all to get your money while their pockets will be lined with affiliate dollars.
When people debate which sites are ruining the industry and throw around SM or MFC or ImLive... for me the answer is and always will be Chaturbate, Cam4, CamFuze, and every other site that is exactly like it. They cheaply run, have no TOS, they all use the exact same scripts, they dont have contracts for performers, they drop all risk in the laps of the models, they have no rules or regulations, and they arent 2257 compliant.
Ive said this many times before about this site as well as Cam4 and the site reps spamming the boards have nothing to say about it because theyre earning money so why bother refuting it? Well they obviously dont consult any legal anything so publicly refuting it would be a bad idea ayway. It doesnt matter, money is the bottomline. Just go on their site and read their TOS and legal notices. Check the source code of site and compare it against its competitors. Sign up and see if you find a contract or anything.
Basically - we're independent contractors, not employees. The burden of being legally and financially fucked is on us when choosing sites to broadcast on. We cant avoid massive changes in the industry but affirming the laziest of lazy business models that put us in danger speeds up the snowball effect of crappy cultural shifts that most models just dont want.
That's why I have a problem with Chaturbate.
-
Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
And this goes without saying: but praising the site here will cause even more sign ups which poses a greater competition for models currently on the site... especially SW cam models are precisely who freeloaders want to see on that site and are exactly who the site owners want: English speaking, good cams, audio, fast speed connections, home alone, truly broadcasting from their bedrooms, toys, etc.
Unless youre the site owner or an affiliate it is beneficial to let bad reviews of moderately known sites to linger without refuting them. Especially if youre banking on it.
....But let me transparent about why I say that in this thread: Im honestly just saying this because the less people who flood Chaturbate, the less momentum sites like these have to keep multiplying like... like MRSA. Or the Duggars. Or my contempt.
Given how many new sites have come and gone with frozen earnings or shady owners or threats of lawsuits, I mean, this is just one big red flag.. and we need to be more discriminating about who we choose to do business with and what models we hold up as being good.
Im not usually this bitter about any site. Im not. I admit that maybe my bitterness is clouding any objectivity or the bigger picture... so Ill say again that I am impressed how much it has changed so quickly. Im also impressed how it strongarmed itself into being competitive purely by advertising on camgirl forums. What a precedent. OK, Im not doing a good job trying not to be biased but it sure got out of that ugly duckling phase real fast - but, ugh. Just ugh. Everything it signifies for the future of the industry, everything about it: ugh. Just ugh.

Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
I went over there and checked it out and I wouldn't trust that place as far as I could throw it. It looks shady for one, rip off of MFC for 2, and any place that wants you to plow yourself with a dildo in free chat is just a no no in my book. Besides that, why would you want to put yourself on a site that could and probably does have underaged models on it?
-
Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
Lol Roast.
I agree with you completly.
For me personally I was just agreeing there is money to be made on chaturbate. It is far from my favorite site. I said I adore it because I can sit there and get paid for nothing..and there seemed to be a scare about viruses coming from it which I find to be false...as far as promoting it hell no.
With that there is money to be made on any site...
Chaturbate sucks ass and I wouldn't really recomend it to anyone who is wanting to make a living on it. Not saying you can't but it has issues as Roast pointed out.
I guess I've never been one to shy away from sites that have bad reputations.Mostly cuz I'm already signed up to them before I find out. And I believe in riding something for all it's worth until I can't anymore.
There are alot of questionable sites which are best avoided if your already educated.Like chaturbate...or talk sugar.
We all already have the main sites we work on and pay our bills with. These crap sites are time fillers for me because as I said I turn on chaturbate and I ignore it while I'm working on my main sites.
Same with talk sugar..yes they are very much known for being dirty. But I still turn my phones on there when I'm online.
People hear something bad sometimes and take off in other directions.Had I not turned my line on that one day I wouldn't have gotten that 1k tip. Is this misleading to new girls probably...but it's up to them to do their research anyway.
Am I taking a chance by being there yes...I could be the next to get screwed over. But since I'm already working and just killing time by logging into these "bad" sites...it's just extra money and occupys me while I wait. So If I get screwed I get screwed till then I'll suck up the cash.Cuz as you said it does all come down to money.
I do hope the questionable sites get shut down.I do hope girls do their research.
I suppose this could be considered supporting questionable sites by participating on them...I can see that.
But I'm not one to pass up easy money, especially if everyone else is running in the opposite direction lol
So yea I just wanted to say I don't really support them. I also don't promote them. They are just as bad as everyone says they are.
However I do believe in supporting myself.
As proof of this I know some of you were talking about the fact I had chaturbate up on my own websites for a while. I removed it about a week or 2 ago and switched over to SM. So I do try to do the right things.....but you can't hate a girl for sucking up the cash if it's there.
I am terrible with words...I dunno if my point was even understandable here. I hope so.
If it wasn't the point was I agree with Roast.

I've already said I agree with you guys but this statement kinda confused me honestly.
How is this any different than MFC...or even skin video and other such sites.
I don't think the site expects you to do that, your free to do whatever you want on any of these sites. If plowing a dildo into yourself is what you wanna do in free chat you can...on any of these sites, and not all of them have bad reps.

Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
Nevermind.....
good points roast. :) thanks!
-
Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
i played around on there for about 2 days fully clothed never did a show won the 1st place hourly contest the whole time i was on. Which is about the only way i made money since the freeloaders don't understand the concept of tipping. The site is very much like mfc pretty much a rip off if you ask me. Besides little things that set it apart we all know where their idea came from ::) I just will never understand why girls on there are playing with themselves for practically no tokens, it is beyond me. If the boys ever learn to tip I can see it working a whole better but till then I'm staying away.

Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
For example: when I opened this thread I was in a room on the main page. There are... four people broadcasting from a "male" profile. meaning it isnt a couple account, but I was looking at 4 random people streaming.
Most other sites... that would be an insta-ban. But Chaturbate? Nah. Rules? What rules? We have no rules. Contracts? Fuh-get about it.
Their profile lists a DOB that puts them in the age of the majority, but if there are 4-5 people streaming... who are they talking about?
I checked again and they are still streaming. 4 people streaming under a single performer account with a token goal.
If this were stickam or tinychat or chatroulette - it wouldnt matter.
But - it is an adult website where the word masturbation is plastered everywhere, my screen is bombarded with porn, and the site owners aggressively recruit professional models.... so their token goal must be a goal towards something, right? So what is the goal towards? Is it going to be a gangbang? A gangbang with no age verification on file anywhere? Sweeeeeeeeeet dude, sweeet. Let me break out my recording software....
http://images4.fanpop.com/image/phot...22-720-480.jpg
Ah, looks like I found another room doing the same thing. If I switch to Cam4 or CamFuse Im sure Ill find a bunch.
I mean, even pirates arent protected if they download the live files. At least when you steal and trade content from MFC you know there is some semblance of age verification... somewhere, and the likelihood the model is over 18 isnt a guarantee but the likelihood is very high. Chaturbate? Who knows, who cares, sign up today! Liability, what liability?
People tweak over children being on cam, I think sites that turns a blind eye to age verification operates on the same continuum of fucked up.
This is the adult industry FFS - relying on loopholes or copypasta legalese of your competitors just to skate by is so mindblowingly irresponsible that Im pissed they exist and thrive. Sites like that are an undiluted golden shower on the credibility of the online sex industry.
OK, Ill stop beating a dead horse.

Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
i have honestly been teeter tottering this site in my head for months. i have heard so many mixed reviews on this site. i have a cpl of girls from this site whom work on chaturbate whom i look up to and girls who i look up to who are against the site also. i honestly don't know what to really think yet. i certainly wouldn't use this site as my main squeeze cuz SM and MFC hold that place for me, but more as a side thing, like c4s. but the only thing that scares me is the money thing, how do i know for sure that i will be getting what i worked long and hard for?! i have been screwed over by webcams and since then i have been very weary of sites. i wanna try it out but at the same time, i am scared of putting in an investment that won't be returned but, it could only help me. still decidin.....

As far as the money goes, I have gotten every amount that I have made. Punker Babe may have spammed the boards a bit, which is not fun, but she's REALLY helpful. If you have money questions she knows all the answers and will do whatever you need to get things fixed if they aren't.
BUT apparently this site has again been thrown against the wall and beat to death. I am on other sites, and of course am not hoping to KEEP this one as my main site, but for now it's giving me the money I NEED. I'm not going to cause issues with myself on the board over this site, though, because I use this site a lot and need the advice and everything. I love most of the people here, and I'm not going to defend the site over that.

Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
OK I promise Ill stfu
So this is their TOS - http://chaturbate.com/terms/, why have a DMCA notice or a guy handling DMCA claims if you dont retain the copyright of your performers? Who is that guy? Is he their legal counsel?
"You may send your Notice of Claimed Infringement to:
Lawrence G. Walters, Esq.
781 Douglas Avenue
Altamonte Springs, FL 32714
Phone: (407) 975-9150
Fax: (407) 774-6151
[email protected]"
And the TOS says to *only* contact their lawyer for DMCA notices, nothing else.
His site has a whole 101 for adult webmasters though: http://lawrencewalters.com/site-arti...ebmaster-tips/
Note items #8, #9, #10, #15, #17, #19.
Well. OK?
From their TOS:
"Members’ Obligations Under 18 U.S.C. § 2257. You should be aware that, pursuant to federal law, any visual depictions that you post, share or perform on the Site which portray actual sexually explicit conduct, depictions of the genitals or pubic area, or simulated sexually explicit activity, as such terms are defined in 18 U.S.C. §§ 2256(2)(A)(i)-(iv) and 2257A, require that you maintain the records required by 18 U.S.C. § 2257, and any such postings must contain an “18 U.S.C. § 2257 Record-Keeping Requirements Compliance Statement.” Your failure to comply with the provisions of 18 U.S.C. § 2257 may make you subject to criminal and civil prosecution for the violation of federal law."
So the performer is in charge of 2257 record keeping requirements? Yes and No. The online sex industry doesnt work that way if youre billing for performer's services and paying performers fees based off of those services or taking ANY percentage off of their earnings. Sorry, good try though. Having that plus the exemption notice on the main page? Really?
So are they saying each time you broadcast you should have a marquee stating where your 2257 records are kept? Where else would people post their compliance statement while streaming? In their profiles? Why isnt that mandated and enforced then? Because that is what is being implied.
'
Also 32.b and c on the TOS:
"Without limiting other remedies, the Service may immediately issue a warning, temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend, or terminate your access and use of the Service and refuse to provide our services to you at any time, with or without advance notice, if: (a) the Site believes that you have breached any of these Terms and Conditions; (b) we are unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide to us; (c) we believe that your actions may cause legal liability for you, our users or us; or "
So, point B and point C are never enforced? Do they actually ever try to verify or authenticate info provided by the performer? Ever? In anyway? Or is the "ok" that people click when they sign up to broadcast enough? If you dont try to verify it, I guess technically you cant be in violation of 32b if you make no real attempt, so they can remain blissfully ignorant of 32c.
Their TOS is just... contradictory and absolves them of any liability.
Just collect IDs for fucks sake. Pay for its storage. Comply with 2257 recordkeeping requirements. Stop spamming.

So the performer is in charge of 2257 record keeping requirements? No. The online sex industry doesnt work that way if youre billing for performer's services and paying performers fees based off of those services. Chaturbate isnt a personal camgirl solo site. It streams many many people.
So are they saying each time you broadcast you should have a marquee stating where your 2257 records are kept? Where else would people post their compliance statement while streaming? In their profiles? Why isnt that mandated and enforced then? Because that is what is being implied.

Their TOS is just... nonsense.

Haha Okay, I feel bad, because a lot of the things I've posted lately you have not been very happy about :P I hope you don't have a personal grievance over me or something, because I do think what you say is very important and that you know what you're talking about. I really appreciate how much thought you put into everything you post.
I realize that it's not a top-notch cam site, and that's why I'm not willing to keep defending it if it's going to cause me issues on this site. A lot of people have different opinions on it, mainly here it is that this site is no good. I personally have had very good luck with the site, but that' is just what it's been for me.

Man, this is what I hate to see here.
If we can't have a discussion then what is the point of this board?
I want ALL the facts, not just "bla bla site sucks" with everyone jumping in agreeing.
I used to work for talksugar, even after seeing bounced checks and knowing for sure people were banned at random and the site kept their money. Why? Because I already had a customer base and it was a simple thing to just run it in the background. I didn't put a lot of effort into it because i knew the site's reputation.
One day calls stopped coming in. I thought it was just slow. After a week or two i checked my profile and found out they were letting me log in and appear as if I were taking calls but my profile was hidden! They deleted me without warning and kept about 40 dollars (because now I'll never make payout). I think they disabled me because I missed a couple calls due to their crapola phone system, not sure, but I had been there for years and boom, gone.
My point is - I'm glad I didn't invest all my time there. It's good to be informed so that if you choose to use a dodgy site at least you know what you are getting into ladies!
Please let's not stop discussing both the good and the bad about them all.

I know I shouldn't just give up on trying to have the conversation, but I also know I don't have much of a fight :P Yes, this site is not the greatest one in the world, and I wouldn't suggest making this the main or ONLY site you work on, but it has advantages and I really love those advantages. So far, I honestly haven't had a single issue working there, and the things I've heard that were bad were from people who didn't work on the site or didn't really even bother trying to really get involved at all with the site.

Re: Chaturbate, for reals.
i guess the main point of the argument here is to just put our feet in and just try it for ourselves. my feelings have just been split right down the middle, 50/50. none of us will REALLY know for sure how this site is for US unless we just jump right in and just try it out. i think that i am gonna stop being afraid and just see it out for myself. i have heard both legit sides of this argument. but if anyone has anything else to add, i would certainly love to hear it.

Webdarling, I am really sorry you feel this way. I honestly don't think it is anything personal from Roast. I think she is just genuinely concerned about the 2257 issue and she wants to let everyone know so that they don't get into any legal trouble. I am willing to bet anythig it has nothing to do with you.
Thank you for sharing your opinion on the site. :)
