Dive Hustle Thread - Customer Edition
I read with interest the thread about hustling in dives (hustle hut). I visit "dives" (defined not as real dumps but smaller-town clubs that don't necessarily draw high-ticket dancers or patrons). These observations may help dancers who perform in such places.
When I enter the club, usually the 4-5 dancers are sitting together at the bar near the door. Maybe once in a great while one of them will say hi as I walk past on my way to order a drink. What they do not know is that in all likelihood one of them will be leaving that night with $100 or $200 of my money, if only they show me a good time. A smile, eye contact, a hello, at this stage will help me choose the dancer with whom I wish to spend time.
There seems to be an unwritten rule in these clubs against costume changes. The women seem to wear the same outfit all night long, usually just a mundane top and the same old thong or g-string. Take it off, put it on, yawn. And yet a costume change can make so much difference; the same girl who did not thrill me in one outfit may totally light me up in a different one. How about coming to work with four or five or half a dozen outfits and slinking out of each one a little differently on stage? Wow! Wallet open.
Then after a stage show where I show some attention and tip well, dancers so seldom invite me to buy them a drink or come over and sit down. Maybe they are beaten down from too much rejection or something? I am not afraid to approach a dancer whose show I've enjoyed, but it is so much nicer to have her show a little interest first. The dancer who does this may be the one who ends up with my money.
And finally, gee, the after-dance routine is so impersonal. It's like, OK, song's over, bye. Would it hurt to offer another dance? Again, I don't mind asking for another, but if the post-dance moment is so chilly, why would I? And no, I don't get handsy, I dress well and show up clean, I don't do anything the dancer would not approve of. How about sitting for just a moment afterward and taking the temperature and maybe inviting me for a repeat? It might turn into 5 or 10.
Girls who do these things have the best chance of taking home my nightly allowance. Yet so few do even one of these things let alone all of them. If this helps any of you ladies, fine. Maybe someone from my favorite club will read this and my experience will be better and hers more lucrative.

Dude, you didn't just waste six paragraphs telling dancers how to do their job did you? Oh yeah, I guess you did...

Kinda preaching to the choir. The ladies of SW know what they're doing, but not all dancers do. The ones who don't won't be found here though.

LOL. In the spirit of full attribution, Chili Palmer deserves all of the credit for coming up with this pic. I blatantly lifted it from one of CP's old posts. It just seemed perfect as a response to a customer giving such detailed advice to dancers on how to sell their services, including that gem relating to costume changes.

Re: Dive Hustle Thread - Customer Edition
Having worked in a few dives, I will state that the idea of several costume changes is wrong. I normally took or three outfits but that was about it. While maybe some guys might tip depending on outfit they are a small minority. The rest of is it common sense and those girls who aren't hustling don't last long in any club.

Re: Dive Hustle Thread - Customer Edition
I wear the same outfit pretty much all the time and I bank in it! 6 outfit changes is not only riduclous considering most girls work 6-8 hours it's insane. Granted if something is not working I'll go change but for the most part my nurse outfit totally works for me. I do have some variations of it though. No one likes being told what to do, while your tips are nice to some most of us know how to do our job and do it quite well. I don't like those types either I find they spend time telling me what to do and not spending money enjoying it.

Re: Dive Hustle Thread - Customer Edition
OP here. Sweet Jesus, the hostility! Describing a customer experience and making sugggestions is not "telling someone how to do their job." In my business I live for customers who will "tell me how to make my products" because that helps me make them more appealing, sell more, and earn more profit. I treat this feedback like gold and pay good money to get more of it (market research).
As for clubbing, I know a lot of customers feel the way I do. If these suggestions are so bloody obvious, why do so few dancers follow any of them? Can you honestly say only the most experienced and best hustlers visit here? If so then why the Hustle Hut thread on dancing in dives? Surely some less experienced dancers work in those venues and come here to learn. And why seize of the figure of "six outfits" and ridicule it when all I really meant was try a little variety?
I meant no offense, I respect you all and what you do. For my part, the customer may not always "be right" or "know best," but the customer is ALWAYS worth listening to and worth respecting. I guess that doesn't hold true in this venue. So be it.

Now you're catching on...
Your only crime here is in trying to compare dancing naked for total strangers to your line of work or any other. It doesn't hold up. Dancers know this and resent when you try to tell them how to market themselves. If you've never danced you don't know the physical and emotional toll the job can take on a woman over time and even in the course of a single week or a single shift. The guys who have been around them long enough know how the girls feel about it. This section is called customer conversation. The difference between conversation with the ladies vs. showing up to tell them what they are doing wrong is significant.
FWIW, I have absolutely no problem emptying my wallet with my favs. They may not change costumes five times a shift or waste time chatting after a dance when there are more customers waiting to be sold dances but they know how to work the room, maximize revenue, and keep guys coming back.

Amazing how true this is. I'm getting very familiar with the "I should kick myself for how much I just spent, but dammit that was fun because SHE was fun," feeling.
To the OP, maybe your energies would be better spent finding a good ATF than trying to get dancers to rise to the level of you expectations? Practically speaking, the first is something you have control over. The second, not so much.

Re: Dive Hustle Thread - Customer Edition
Actually I was interested to read this. It's always helpful to know what kind of impression we give to customers; I feel like I live in a fishbowl sometimes and it's interesting to see how dancers can come across to people. I think he's honestly just trying to give some feedback, and I appreciate it.
Changing 6 times a night is kinda nutty, though. In my opinion.

Excuse me??!!! Dude are you referring to us as "products???" You really need to STFU.
I don't need your suggestions because guess what not everyone likes what you like. You are not the end all be all in strip club customers.
And guess what else? You could keep your little bit of change if I worked at that club cause you're a douchebag and I would never subject myself to someone telling me HOW TO DO MY FUCKING JOB!!!
Taking suggestions on some random product is NOT the same as taking suggestions on taking off your clothes off for strangers!!!.
Theres a whole mental aspect of this job that you will never understand!!
Maybe that girl hanging at the bar is engaged and is having a hard time flirting with other men.
Maybe that girl at the stage is insecure about her weight and saw you looking at her stomach so she doesnt want to talk to you now.
Maybe the girls dont have money to buy any other outfits cause they had to feed their kids!!!!
You never fucking know!!!!
You and your little piss ass business will never compare do the emotional toll this job takes on a person.
So yea you can keep your little suggestions asshole.
You're not helpful, and when a girl feels like making some money she knows what to do. If she doesn't she'll figure it out from other dancers.
Until you see a suggestion box at the bar, you can safely assume we dont want them.
Thanks.

Re: Dive Hustle Thread - Customer Edition
The advice wasn't poor. It's common sense to me, and most girls here, but basic sales/service 101.
The outfit change idea wouldn't work for me, but I'm lazy and don't want to have to wash 6 outfits every day.
A good guideline is to bring a least 3 outfits and 2 pairs of shoes (heels break). Change if you feel like it though, it may help midway through your shift as a "refresher".

Re: Dive Hustle Thread - Customer Edition
KS his delivery was very poor & some people forget how special a beautiful naked female is & giving you attention for really nothing...

Re: Dive Hustle Thread - Customer Edition
I don't know why the clubs don't just rent costumes to the custumers and give the stripper a cut for all the rented custumes she wears. So say a dancer wear a slutty cop outfit for say 30 bucks for one guys LDs, a naughy Librarian for 30, and princess for another guys LDs for 30 bucks and share the profits fifty fifty. So the club gets 45 bucks from that example, plus the dancer gets 45 bucks for wearing it, plus her normal lapdance money. The club buys the outfits and kepts them clean so all the girl has to do is wear it.

Huh?
First of all, the club would never make this sort of investment in costumes and even if they did I can guarantee you they would all be in stinky pile in the corner of the dressing room after a few days as the club would never clean them.
Why again would I pay an extra $90 to see a stripper dressed like a cop when all I really want to see is her dressed in stilettos and a smile?
-
Re: Dive Hustle Thread - Customer Edition
I personally wouldn't wear rented costumes because no idea where they came from or who wore them.
-
Re: Dive Hustle Thread - Customer Edition
Stay out of HH. Don't tell us what to do. Go to a titty bar near you, spend, have fun and stop analyzing.
The end.

I agree. It is just little a crush. No need to over analyze it.
