Re: Do you use a separate room just for camming?
I at the min cam from my own bed which I have to set up each day/ clean up each night, but I am moving next week to a bigger place and I will be able to have my own cam room so can't wait to get it set up. Buying new bed, getting phone sockets moved so router near me upstairs so hopefully work out well. Fingers crossed.
Re: Do you use a separate room just for camming?
I have a separate room that I LOVE. Well, actually, I hate the room - its kinda awkward, and I don't have the spare cash to decorate it the way I want...but I love the fact that it is separate.
1. I love not having to set everything up and take it apart again -save me so much time and effort!!! And it means that I am far more likely to just jump on for an hour if I have the time.
2. I love being able to shut the door - especially as the dog would think that my dildos are chew toys! I don't have to worry about saving my stuff from the animals, or about showing people around - I just leave the door shut and say that it is the office.
3. It makes taxes so much easier. Like melonie says, it simplifies things if you are claiming a % of your bills and rent. I wouldn't want to have to deal with the hassle of working out how often I am working in the rest of my house...ugh.
4. It means that I am totally separate - my partner can go about his business, change clothes, shower, whatever...all without bothering or being bothered by me. Still haven't been able to soundproof it so that i can work while he sleeps, but that is a plan
5. I like keeping my personal sex life and my cam life separate. There is something a little odd sometimes about spending hours fucking yourself on cam, and then trying to have sex with your partner - its harder to switch off from work.
Re: Do you use a separate room just for camming?
I cam in separate room and yes Melonie is right. I wrote off the extra bedroom when I filed taxes. Saved a ton of $$$!
Can I see your cam room desk setup?
I'm trying to find a new desk for my new place, but I can't seem to find anything really useful. I want something mobile (wheels or monitor stand) where I can move from chair to bed to anywhere else, and maybe even swivel it. I was thinking about buying a monitor desk mount, but was wondering if there's other cost effective desks out there.
So, can I see your desk/work station? Online photos/links where I could purchase it are an awesome help!
EDIT:I just realized I completely mis-worded the title. I didn't want to see girl's cam setup or decor, just the physical desk. I'm trying to find one online and was looking to see if ladies would be kind enough to link me to the desks they purchased. Sorry if I confused people.

It has wheels and I can turn it toward the bed real easy, or take it to another room

I CANNOT wait until the day hubby and I get a new bed....I want one without a footboard so I can sit on the edge and just lay back and do my thing, preferably on a nice big king size bed. I cam right now in a spare room that doubles as my craft room, but I have curtains and a cabinet to cover all that up, so it just looks like a regular bedroom

Lifehacker.com has a section called "How I work" where they show successful internet entrepreneur's workspaces and interview them. It's really interesting!

Re: Can I see your cam room desk setup?
I don't have a pic, but i live in a bachelor apt. I have my coffee table pushed up against my bed, and then I use my flatscreen as a monitor.....:)
Ill try and post a pic soon :D
I think it works well, cause then I can lay down and such.

I have something similar to this
Re: Can I see your cam room desk setup?
I am thinking of purchasing this. I cam from the second floor so having portable is not important to me. I want more storage space instead of bins all around. I am a neat freak and the bins are driving me insane. Plus this will have more than enough room for three comps.

I saw something just like this and considered it, but I don't think a corner table would work for me too well. It might work well if I desk mount (http://www.ergotron.com/Products/Des...1/Default.aspx) which I'm really considering doing.
Thanks ladies!

I can't find my desk online but it looks similar to the one above. It's just a little bigger and it doesn't have the bottom shelf or wheels. I want to replace it with the desk below though.

If I'm not at my desk then I usually cam in the cam area that I made. I bought the above end table from walmart but I wanna replace it with the one below. I put wheels on it so that it could be portable.

Re: webcam only how is your room set up
I just noticed that the Logitech C920 has a tripod base. I ducked taped my logitech 9000 to my tripod for the longest time. I came across this video recently and was like why didn't I think of this..... duh. So simple.

Totally awesome! Must be great to work in comfort!
Re: Can I see your cam room desk setup?
I want to get a desk that converts from a sitting desk to a standing desk. The only ones I've seen so far have been expensive but if I can't find anything cheaper I'll probably end up spending the money because I think it would be super useful.

I posted a link to an online store that sells those. There's one for about $800. I'd love to save my pennies and get one lol

There's not a lot of table top space, but it's completely mobile with 2 monitor stands. I'd prefer one where you could actually tilt this monitors. I wonder if that's an option...
Re: Can I see your cam room desk setup?
I like how that one is completely mobile. I would think that you would be able to tilt the monitors, especially if you're paying a pretty penny for it!
