I breastfed for nearly 2 years and danced the entire time. I actually gained a few customers who apparently had fetishes that revolved around breastfeeding, lol. So it was never a problem.
I would suggest bringing a pump to work, especially during the first few months that you return to work. Even if you aren't lactating excessively it will alleviate some of the pressure that builds up throughout the night. I made up somewhat of a schedule for myself which involved me pumping before each of my stage sets and before any lapdances (boob touching is allowed here, and the stimulation would make me spring leaks, lol).
Hope that helped a bit! Good luck with everything!
I went back to dancing this Monday, my little boy is now 1 month old. I was paranoid about leaking on stage (dances are tops on) but I find as long as I pump every few hours, I'm fine. Last night I got caught up in a CR and ended up leaking, but I just left my top on for the rest of the night. When I take my top off, I try to be really careful to do it as least stimulating to my nipples as possible (if that makes sense?) and when I'm on stage I do NOT touch my boobs at all because I'm terrified it will make my milk let down. I gotta say.. I love dancing while breastfeeding, my boobs never looked better and I dont know if its my confidence or what, but I've been making bank! Seriously thinking about a boob job after I wean lol.
I second the idea of bringing your breast pump to work. You could store the milk in a bottle and refrigerate it at the recommended temperature. Make sure to label the bottle as your breast milk though to avoid a fellow employee mistaking it for coffee creamer or something.
I breastfed for a bit while dancing. I pumped at work, in a quiet spot. I work at a pretty relaxed club so it wasn't a big deal. My pump came with a little cooler bag to store the milk bottles in so I didn't have to keep it in the fridge at work.
I pumped every two hours, and didn't have any problems with leaking thank god.
