Describe your first night...
I'm planning on starting to strip soon and I am really nervous. Could I get some girls to describe what your first night was like so all of us newbies will have some better expectations.
How did you feel?
What did you do to get over any anxieties?
What was it like being naked for the first time in front of strangers?
What was it like approaching customers for dances for the first time?
How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers?
How much money did you bring home your first night?
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night?
Thanks to everyone who replies to this!

Re: Describe your first night...
First night I felt like I was going to vomit at all times. Being naked was fine, I just reasoned that I was only a bit more naked than I was at the beach... if you're body confident you'll be fine.
Approaching customers was difficult but that was because I was a very shy naive 18 year old who had no life experience. I didn't know how to have a conversation with a stranger.
Some dancers ignored me and some were really helpful. I actually met my best friend that night. Bouncers were indifferent. They see new girls day in day out. You are just passing through to them.
I have no interesting or funny story... I almost didn't go back. But the next night I forced myself to and I made $1000. I definitely went back after that.

Re: Describe your first night...
My first night was fairly painless. I had no idea what I was doing on stage, but a really nice dancer sat at my rack off and on and coached me a little. At one point she was actually moving my butt and legs around for me like a puppet. "Not like that! Like thiiiis!"...she was drunk and goofy and incredibly encouraging. I try hard to pay it forward now when I see new girls looking nervous or having a hard time.
Being naked didn't really bother me, I was a little nervous but I'd done nude modeling in college so it wasn't too big a step. I had maybe two drinks -- man, I was stoked to be allowed to drink at work, lol.
I think I made about 50 bucks all night. I had no clue what to say to people or how to hustle, and didn't sell a single dance. But I had so much fun talking to the staff and the other girls, and finally feeling like an insider in what had always seemed like a crazy glamorous world. I was hooked.
Oh, and I tripped over carpet, stairs, and my own feet all night long. I remember being incredibly wobbly in the heels.

Re: Describe your first night...
Being naked infront of people was a complete high for me. I dealt with severe bullying for being 'uglier than a dog' from gradeschool until college, so to have people actually sitting through my stage, giving me a dollar, and complimenting me on top of it felt SO nice. I think my first time on stage was actually the first time in my life that I have ever felt pretty--and I totally understand that guys were probably just saying that because they all want to get in our pants, but for me it was just a nice contrast to being barked at.
The other girls were nice to me the first night, then they pissed all over my stuff and threatened to rip me to shreds the next because they didn't expect me to come back. Looking back on it, I was really, exceptionally stupid so I can't blame them.
I think I made about 75 bucks on my stages, and being a college student who was so broke I was living off of *change*, eating top ramen, and shoplifting so I could actually wear something decent I thought I was rich! I did alot of lapdances that night because I was obviously new, but I had no idea I got paid for them. So when I went to cash out my folded up 75 dollars I said to the manager 'wow, this is so much money!' and he looked at me all strange and handed me my cut of the lapdance money, which was a little over 350. I was pretty floored, lol. I took myself shopping the next day!
I was so nervous (and I am a complete idiot in general, so I'm sure that had something to do with it) that I forgot to put my clothes back on and started walking around the club butt ass naked (the dressing room and the stage weren't attached). Then, when someone wanted to do a lapdance I was terrified of getting in his lap, I thought that I would get in all sorts of trouble for it! He actually had to pay for another girl to come in and demonstrate a lapdance for me, lol.
Good luck with everything! I think you'll do fine!

Re: Describe your first night...
I just recently started dancing myself....Getting hired by the club pretty much got me over my anxieties because I figured the owners liked me, customers will like me, make money, fuck the haters. Any girls who are mean are just jealous, truthfully, so take it in stride and remind yourself how attractive you are I guess.
Being naked in front of strangers wasn't a huge deal. The lighting in strip clubs is VERY complimentary - as in, girls who look like hell in the dressing room look fucking HOT on stage. And you get a lot of guys who sit there and tell you how gorgeous you are, etc.
I didn't approach a lot of custies on the floor my first shift, I just sold dances from the stage, which is actually my best hustle now ^_^
The dayshift girls are all pretty awesome, cool ladies. I like them. The night girls are fucking nuts though and one girl who kinda took me under her wing instructed me (kindly) not to involve myself with them. Good advice.
My FIRST shift probably got me a little less than two hundo after tipout. Not so bad for day shift.
Funny story: the girl before my set a week ago kicked a customer in the mouth. :)
You just get used to it all pretty fast. A lot of things shocked me at first but now I find myself doing those same things. You're just there to make money. Don't trust everyone. All that jazz....

Re: Describe your first night...
How did you feel?
I was very lucky and went into the club on my first shift with a fellow pink who had been working there for a while. I was a little nervous and surprised at myself for finally taking the plunge since I'd been thinking about it for over a year, but mostly excited to be getting started.
What did you do to get over any anxieties?
Just looked to my friend for support/encouragement, told myself that thousands of ladies do this all the time, and it certainly helped that I went in on a Saturday day shift with less than 3 customers at opening!
What was it like being naked for the first time in front of strangers?
I've never felt nudity was a big deal, so, it didn't feel like a big deal. I was mostly a little lost as to what to actually do on stage.
What was it like approaching customers for dances for the first time?
My friend had to push me to go talk to my first customer, but it felt very awkward and like I was out of my element, since I didn't often strike up conversations with strangers, let alone with the end goal of asking them to pay me to get naked and dance on them. But I had a very nice first customer who bought dances and was very respectful, so that certainly helped.
How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers?
Most of the other dancers politely kept to themselves, though one asked how I was doing. The hiring manager doubled as the bouncer for that shift since it was so slow, and he was very nice and encouraging.
How much money did you bring home your first night?
A totally average for the city/club $300. I wasn't expecting bank, but I was proud of myself for making as much as the experienced dancers generally made.
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night?
One of my first customers that shift ended up becoming my first regular. Thankfully my pink buddy had insisted I take some little cards and a pen with me in my stripper bag so I could get emails and keep in touch with potential regulars, otherwise I would've never seen him again! Also, I can't remember if this was my first or second shift, but I got one of those foot customers who just wanted to rub my feet for multiple songs, and it blew my mind that someone was willing to pay me 20$/song for that. Same with the cuddlers who just wanted hugs for each song!

How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers?
Some loved me, some hated me either way they couldn't ignore me ::)
How much money did you bring home your first night?
don't remember but I was pretty stoked
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night?
Somebody mistook my baggie of coke for sugar and almost put it in their coffee

Re: Describe your first night...
Thanks everyone! These stories are great! Keep them coming!

Re: Describe your first night...
tired. my first full shift was the longest night ever.
drinking probably would have helped with the nerves. but i didn't so i was just nervous.
being onstage topless was the most uncomfortable part of the evening.
i don't think i approached any tables alone. all the dancers were really nice to me and babied me and helped me sell dances.
it was so long ago, i really don't remember details. the biggest thing to remember is that dancing is unusual and you'll probably feel a bit weird doing it because it's unlike anything else and pretty much goes against most of what you are conditioned to do as a female in society.
-
Re: Describe your first night...
I was a waitress at the club a whole year before getting onstage. My bf (now hubby) was a male dancer and I used to get so pissed off at him for doing his job. I just didn't understand how these girls would be all over him and I was suppose to be ok with it. So he told me I should try dancing. I was 86lbs and 5'3. I was a walking skeleton... but I have always had an ass (thank god! lol) Alot of the girls disliked me because they didn't approve of mine and bf's relationship so they were talking all kinds of shit. How I couldn't do it, etc..
It was a Sunday night and I got up there and my legs were just knee knocking together. I was given a vodka/oj but that seemed to make things worse. I got through my 1st set then my 2nd and so on.. The adrenaline was intoxicating. I've always been stage fright so doing this made me feel pretty damn good! There wasn't many guys in there, I don't remember approaching people but I remember I made $167.
I've been dancing 9 years now and all those hags that were so mean to me are now some of my closest friends.
My advice is just to get up there and do it. After the first few times onstage, you're fine. It's empowering :)

Re: Describe your first night...
How did you feel?
I went to an amateur night which one other girl showed up for. The weirdest part for me was the crowded dressing room. Women didn't quickly change their clothes but girls were in a thong doing makeup and bumping into each other and that was unusual for me. Even though it was a divey club I felt kinda glamorous, the same feeling I got doing school plays lol. I was more scared of the stereotypical strippers beating me up than anything.
What did you do to get over any anxieties?
I remember sitting in my car in the parking lot and pep talking myself going over other things I thought I would never be able to do. I remember saying that it's now or never, it was the day before Thanksgiving my first year away at college and I wanted to make it home for the holiday without having to ask anyone for help. Plus I really wanted to pay my school and continue my education instead of 'admitting failure'.
What was it like being naked for the first time in front of strangers?
Exciting and empowering. I had figured, if guys will go to all lengths to try to hit on me when I'm running to the store in sweatpants how could they not appreciate seeing me naked?
What was it like approaching customers for dances for the first time?
Hilarious. I just thought it was sooooo funny that these guys wanted to hear some bullshit story about how I'm paying for school and then they'd give me money to wave my vag in front of them. I was not really a hustler but I had no problem asking for dances, didn't really know to upsell. I used some of the cheesy lines I found on here lol.
How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers?
Most thought I was so young and adorable, some ignored me. Bouncer and DJ (probably owner too) wanted to get in my pants.
How much money did you bring home your first night?
I worked for 2 hours and make like $250.
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night?
When I went on stage I had NO idea what to and just kinda shook around really fast like in music videos. So this girl comes up to my stage and yells to me to take my clothes off (I forgot!) and lay down. So I like sit down and lay back all jerky like, I had no idea what was going on. Then she pulled a bunch of ones out of her wallet and threw them on me, and made the guys next to her do it, and soon others threw in also. And I rolled around in the money like the bills were fall leaves and knew I had found my calling lol.

Re: Describe your first night...
Obviously your first time dancing there there are going be a lot of anxieties about it but honestly, the only way to get over them is to face them.
When I started dancing I had never been naked in front of ANYONE (I was a virgin the first 2 years I danced hahaha) so getting naked in front of a room full of men was scary. But after I got that first stage show over with it was not a problem after. Approaching customers was actually easier when I was new (and every time I go to a new club too) because it's an easy conversation starter to let them know you're new. I never came across a customer who wasn't responsive to the whole new dancer thing, and if you're just yourself and treat a customer like a normal person you're starting a conversation with.
Some dancers are going to be kind to you and some are going to ignore you. When I'm new somewhere I usually check out the locker room and see if there are any spaces where a dancer is by herself and not chatting with a group of other girls just to eliminate the intimidation you'll feel being around girls you don't know. It always takes awhile for others to warm up to you. Also, I've noticed when new girls come to my club they're so intimidated that they have a bitch face. Smile a bit. It will keep dancers from thinking "who dis new bitch up in my territory".
Also, definitely make an effort to say hi and introduce yourself to the bouncers.
Don't go in with any expectations about how much money you'll make your first night. Just learn the ropes and then you can start worrying about how to make money. Your first couple weeks will probably be good because people love new girls anyway.

Re: Describe your first night...
It was 2 weeks after my 18th birthday. I started in a tiny little bikini bar in BFE. I wore the heels I bought for my senior prom and a black bra set with a red one of these:
http://ak1.ostkcdn.com/images/products/P10712621.jpg
I wasn't scared, the girls were all pretty nice to me. The house fee was $20. I made $75 and I remember feeling like it was a million dollars! I'd never had a job before, and though it was fun to get paid for being a social butterfly. A year later I was working in ATL at a full nude place making over 10 times that. :)

Re: Describe your first night...
Green and blue polka-dot thong given to me as a joke during high school.
Black, full-coverage bra (half a size too big).
Nearly-transparent blue Wal-Mart spaghetti strap shirt with "27" printed on the front (??).
Rolled-up black skirt from Goodwill.
Knee-high black boots from Kohls with pink fluffy socks (Christmas present from mom) hidden from view.

Re: Describe your first night...
My first day I was so nervous I couldn't even speak to the customers, let alone ask for dances! I literally clung to the pole when I went on stage and stared at the floor while I took my clothes off. I wore some jeans I had turned into booty shorts (BAD idea) and a cherry bikini with 7 inch red dancer heels that I could barely walk in.
It literally took me MONTHS to regularly approach guys and ask for dances. I rememeber one of the managers coming in the dressing room and saying "hun there's lots of guys out there, don't you want to ask for some dances? I'm sure you could make some money" I gave him a terrified look and shook my head NO Lmao! I have improved a lot since then, thank god!

Re: Describe your first night...
My first day was rough. I had been on SW for about 3 months and memorized everything, so I was prepared on what to wear, how to act around other dancers, and how to hustle and approach customers. The dancing on stage part and getting naked didn't bother me at all. But emotionally I so wasn't ready. I think it's hard to really be emotionally ready to start (after never even setting foot in a strip club) in a higher contact nude club.
I almost got finger raped, got my boobs licked by 3 guys, had guys humping me, saw two penises, and was also ridiculed by a few customers. Now I see that as an almost nightly occurrence at my club. But at the time, I couldn't handle it and ended up crying at work and then I went home after my shift with my $400ish and took the hottest, longest shower of my life and sobbed. Then I went back the next day and the next and gradually got over it. I was also firmer with boundaries and I stole someone's (I don't remember which SW member it was) lines about making fun of guys who whip out their dick. I didn't cry after that for a loooong time.
In retrospect, I'm surprised I went back. But money is a huge motivator for me.
-
Re: Describe your first night...
How did you feel?
- scared as shit. i was so intimidated becuz i thought i needed to have a whole bunch of pole skills so i went to class for like 2 months before i auditioned.. and when i went, only 3-6 out of 50 girls actually did pole work! i started at one of the nicer clubs in SF so i thought the competition would be high, it wasnt really.
What did you do to get over any anxieties?
the drive to work is about 1 hour. so the whole drive there, i would listen to podcasts of Strip and grow rich, songs that i wanted to dance to, and rehearse in my head, all the opening lines i could come up with.
What was it like being naked for the first time in front of strangers?
odd at first, but also very very liberating. (i had a baby since then and now after breast feeding they arent the same and im bery self concious now.... but back then, they were my best attribute and i was so confident with them)..it was nice to be able to capture someones attention, and even more thrilling to be paid becuz they were enjoying it! it was just a very exciting feeling.
What was it like approaching customers for dances for the first time?
nerve wracking. the conversation part was so hard for me at first. i didnt know how to get into my "dancer personality " so i would sit there like i was in starbucks, trying to start up a convo with a complete stranger- awkward. but once i could really GET INTO THE MINDSET, i was able to really jump into character and think " ok, this isnt me.. this is ___________. i am her now. ok, what does she like, what is she into, etc.." get into that new you. its just a huge acting game. it took awhile, maybe a month or so before i was able to "jump into her" but once i did, it was easy to walk up to a guy and just be hella seductive..and persuasive.
How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers?
the dancers were bitches at first, and fake as hell. but i kept to myself and that helped things stay cool. had i gave into it, i would have got fired and not made any money. stay focused. its not about them.
How much money did you bring home your first night?
i cant remember but it was over 800 and i just remember the whole drive home smiling ear to ear, so fucking ecstatic. before that, i was used to getting 200 paychecks every two weeks and having to deal with long hours, bitchy employees etc. so needless to say, i kept going and eventually quit my regular job.
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night?
its not that funny but the only thing i can remember was my first dance transaction. the guy was so uncomfortable from ME being so uncomfortable.. he had bought us a round of drinks and the lack of chemistry and conversation was ridiculous. i kept telling myself "SAY SOMETHING. HE HAS MONEY IN HIS POCKET. GET THAT SHIT. SAY SOMETHINGGG!!!!" and then the other half of me would yell back "wtf do you want me to say??? i dont know this ugly fool, i dont know what he wants to hear, wtf do i SAYYY?!???" lmao. so after about 4 minutes of us awkwardly sitting and starting in silence, he said " so uhhhh.. can we just skip to the dance part??" lol!! he ended up getting 5 dances. he tipped me 100 becuz i was so nervous and he could sense it. poor guy. poor me!!
-
Re: Describe your first night...
How did you feel?
Excited. I'd always wanted to be a dancer but was waaaay to chicken shit. I'd been to strip clubs a few times since I was 18 and I was nearly 21 before I auditioned at one. Going to them made me a little more prepared.
What did you do to get over any anxieties?
I just sighed and got over it. I drove there directly after quitting my job at pizza hut. Like, literally told them to fuck off and left, got in my car and drove to the closest strip club. I think the anger and resentment of how I'd been treated at Pizza hut made the audition an outlet to establish power I'd felt I had lost. I did shake quite a bit. And ALL of the house girls watched. Some of them told me they were excited to see me naked, which was encouraging.
What was it like being naked for the first time in front of strangers?
I'd always been bit of a nudist, so it was nothing new.
What was it like approaching customers for dances for the first time?
I didn't. They approach you when you're new! They love it.
How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers?
They LOVED me for some reason. We just... clicked. I fit in so well. Many of the girls/bouncers were nerdy comic book reading types and so was I (at the time). They were very helpful and let me borrow a pair of shoes to audition in. It's the DJs I've never gotten along with.
How much money did you bring home your first night?
Not much. Maybe 120-150. The club was PACKED too. I just didn't know what to do with myself.
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night?
Nah, but I cried when I got home. Not because I was sad, but after all the energy and stress just welled up and I needed a release. My boyfriend at the time was worried. :/

Re: Describe your first night...
Just had my first night yesterday - completely exhausting but not nearly as bad as any scenario I could have worried about.
I felt really nervous, couldn't even eat during the day I was so scared (had to go in between 7 and 9pm). I actually took a propranolol which is a really small dose anxiety blocker I got for stage fright (drama not dancing) a year or two ago. Not sure I would have made it without shaking if I didn't have that prescription.
Being naked for the first time in front of strangers was really not that big a deal - I didn't *feel* naked or exposed, but nudity doesn't really bother me. It was the walking up to tables that scared the hell out of me.
Guys didn't approach me unless they were too drunk to really function - I didn't get any sort of announcement about being new which I was glad about. I would have to stand at the bar sipping water, pick a dude, stare at him for ten minutes while working up the nerve and hoping no one else beat me to it, and then go over and talk to him. Sometimes I walked around and went up to random guys, but most of those said they weren't presently interested in company. Kind of hard to hear but tried to stay positive.
The managers and DJ were super nice. Like, really really nice. Other dancers were polite but no one talked to me. A few answered questions for me but didn't engage in any conversation. The manager told me in the interview that he hates drama and if any girl tried to start any he wanted her reported. Luckily that wasn't an issue.
Last night I brought home $270 after a $30 tip out. I only had two customers - one spent $60 on me and the other spent $240 - so in terms of customers I didn't do so well - two :( - but I coming home with that much money after 5 hours of working made me ecstatic. Hope I get more than 2 guys next time.
No funny or interesting stories - just glad I made it through the night. I was so so ready to go home by about 1 AM just because I was so tired (I work a 9-5 day job). Have to go back tomorrow and I'm terrified of a super packed Friday shift.

Re: Describe your first night...
How did you feel?
I was nervous too, but I got over it quickly.
What did you do to get over any anxieties?
Fake it 'til you make it.
What was it like being naked for the first time in front of strangers?
I was only topless, but it was exhilarating. I felt strangely free.
What was it like approaching customers for dances for the first time?
Not hard, since I had yet to develop any game and didn't even know about all the mistakes I was making.
How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers?
The dancers were eager to provide guidance and the bouncers stayed out of my way.
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night?
Nope, it was pretty much just a blur of advice, boobs and money. My first night went by fast.
The more comfortable you are with showing off your body, the more beautiful you will appear. Don't worry about being judged. No one has any right to.
-
Re: Describe your first night...
I felt nervous and excited at the same time. I didnt do anything to get over anxiety, I didnt smoke or drink and Im glad for it! I had been a cam girl previously so me being naked wasnt much different and I love my body...But taking my clothes off and being around OTHER naked and attractive women was intimidating at first lol. But then you really get over it. Approaching customers was hard at first too but after reading on here for hours and hours, I took what I learned and just forced myself to go up! Surprisingly, everyone was very nice...to my face at least lol. Who knows what they really thought of the dorky new girl? No one was outright mean! My first night I made about 200, didnt have to pay a house fee the first time so I was stoked on it even though 200 is now a bad day for me. Enjoy being new I say and know that you really will get better with time and keep reading this site, its gold!
Andddd one funny thing I remember from that night was I tripped in my heels on stage for the first time and I was hella nervous. I laughed it off, or tried to haha. I still do stumble at times but it doesnt bother me, I think everyone can tell they arent as easy as they look to wear!

Re: Describe your first night...
So I finally had my first night two days ago... To answer my own questions:
How did you feel?
I was so nervous! On the car ride there I thought I was going to get sick to my stomach. I had to audition before I could start, just one song on one of the smaller stages and I had to be nude by the end of the song. My audition was at about 9:00 and at this point there were only about 5 guys in the club so mostly just the girls and the house mom were watching me. I thought it would be weird to get naked, but when I look my bottoms off I didn't really feel any different than when I had the bottoms on. "No bid deal!" I thought and I just kept on dancing like nothing had changed...
What did you do to get over any anxieties?
All I could do was face my fears.
What was it like being naked for the first time in front of strangers?
(See description above)
What was it like approaching customers for dances for the first time?
One of the veteran girls gave me a quick tour of the club, then she asked "So what's your style for getting dances?" I said I've never danced before so I didn't have a style. She was like, okay follow me! Then she went around to all the 5 guys and was like "Hi this is (stage name)! It's her first night dancing! Do you want to be her first dance?!" They all said no, then the last guy said maybe later. She took me to the side and was like "Okay just sit and talk to this guy but don't get used to talking to customers for this long!" So I sat and talked to him for a little too long according to hustle hut then he was ready for a dance. The club offers topless or full nude, he asked for full nude. After the dance he told me he would have never guessed that I was new.
After him I found a group of young guys who were interested in me, each one of them ended up getting a two-for-one from me. They helped to build up my confidence because they would turn other girls away but they kept talking with me and tipped me a lot when I was on one of the smaller stages.
I found that I was really great at talking to couples. If there was a guy with his girlfriend I was good at talking him into buying his girl a dance. This happened three times.
Overall I went up to guys asked them if they were having a good night or if they had been there before. I told them it was my first night. Then I tried to ask if they "wanted to go upstairs with me" (all the lap dances take place up stairs) I tried to avoid the word dance, but it was actually really hard to do. Most of them were young and cheap and said they had no money.
How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers?
Other dancers were nice, I kept my distance, but they were all friendly. I didn't hear any rude comments towards me or anything like that. The bouncers didn't interact as much with me. One did point me to a couple who he said looked at me and pointed and said "I want her" or "I like her" or something like that. I went to them and they didn't buy, but I went back to that bouncer later and thanked him for trying to help me out.
How much money did you bring home your first night?
When I was ready to leave the club I was so tired, I just paid my required tip outs and house fees and left without even counting the cash I had in my little purse. I didn't count it until the next morning. I made about $200, which I was kind of disappointed with. (My goal was 300 for the first night as it is a high end club and I have heard about the awesome earning potential there) I did hear other girls mention that no one was buying, and the housemom said it had been a slow night. (Even thought the club was packed and one group told me they had to wait outside 20 minutes before they could get in.) So I will give it another chance.
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night?
Nothing crazy happened, none of the customers tried to grab me or anything like that. One guy that I did a dance for asked me to scratch him, which I thought was weird. The last guy I forgot to get the money up front and he bought two in a row (my first time selling two in a row). After the second dance was over I told him the price we were up to and he started digging in his pockets pulling out only small bills. I was thinking this guy was going to rip me off and I didn't know what I was going to do. But it was fine because I just went with him to the ATM and he got out the money.
No person gave me extra tips on top of any dances I did. When I got home I had blisters on my feet and my thighs are still sore from being up on my feet and dancing all night. I stayed out of the dressing room as much as possible and tried to stay out on the floor with customers. I'm going back for a second try next week. I think one day a week will be enough for me, hopefully I will get the hang of it better.

Re: Describe your first night...
How did you feel?
I was a little nervous, but the staff was really nice and that helped me get over it. Mostly, I was super excited. I was proud of myself for finally going and getting a job at a club after 2 months of putting it off, and I was so full of myself in my head, and kept telling all my friends about it and how they should come visit me my first day. I was such a dork lol So, kinda nervous, but more excited and proud of myself.
What did you do to get over any anxieties?
I didn't really do anything. I just focused on my outfit and makeup, and talked to girls who bothered to talk to me. I also started on a day shift so I think that helped. I kept telling myself it wasn't going to be like the crazy, intimidating Friday night I had auditioned on.
What was it like being naked for the first time in front of strangers?
Walking up to the stage for the first time was nerve-wracking, but once I was actually up there, it kinda just clicked for me. It was suddenly like "oh, right, I'm a stripper in a strip club, of course I'm naked - it's no big deal."
What was it like approaching customers for dances for the first time?
I didn't even really know how to approach customers for dances my first time. I literally sat at the bar, staring at customers for the first 20 minutes of my shift... I had no idea what to do. I think I only did 2 or 3 dances my first shift because I just waited for guys to ask for them. I had no clue how to sell.
How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers?
Most girls were that mix of cordial but stand-offish with snarky comments thrown in to assert their dominance from time to time. Like, they weren't really rude to me, they'd ask my name and if I'd ever danced before, but every once in awhile, they'd make some comment "to themselves" about how many new girls there were coming in and grumbling about how day shift was looking like night shift with all the girls there and they wouldn't make any money because of it. Bouncers pretty much ignored me and I ignored them.
How much money did you bring home your first night?
80 bucks, and I was fucking STOKED! lol! I remember counting it in the DR, getting so hyped up, going "omg, omg, omg" over and over again. I was bragging to all my friends that night about the 80 BUCKS I made at the club.... ah jeez, to be naive again hahaha Luckily, none of my friends knew shit about stripping, so they were all just as impressed with my 80 bucks as I was lol
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night?
Not really. I think the weirdest thing that happened to me that day was a girl who started only the day before me confronting me in the DR and trying to give me lessons on how to shake my ass properly. Not only was it a little surreal, but it was kind of a "wtf" moment since she had only been stripping a day longer than I had lol
