Re: Describe your first night...
How did you feel?
I was pretty damn calm, I had prepared myself for a few months, it wasn't a quick decision to dance, I did all the research I could, making my first night painless.
What did you do to get over any anxieties?
I remembered all the tips, advice etc and remembered my goals.
What was it like being naked for the first time in front of strangers?
I didn't mind that much, hey I was getting paid for it!
What was it like approaching customers for dances for the first time?
I didn't really know what I was doing, another dancer helped me at the start. NONE of the customers believed it was my first night ever which annoyed me.
How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers?
I knew one girl which helped ALOT, but everyone else was fine. Now im in the top dog in the club and all the newbies are scared of ME. haha
How much money did you bring home your first night?
I remember it was only $400 but i was so proud. (laughable now)
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night?
I had my first lap dance in a group dance of about 4 or 5 with other girls. I was showing off my heels and brought them smashing down onto a table of cocktails breaking all the glass and fucking the sell up. hahah
Re: Describe your first night...
I had my first very first shift on Saturday night. While I was driving to the club my heart was beating so fast. I was so nervous. I bought a packet of cigarettes and smoked a couple. I was pretty excited. It's something I've wanted to do for awhile. I felt weird on stage when one of the customers said show me your p#### for $5!
I just try and keep thinking yeah your hot work it and I stood at the bar to watch the other dancers on stage and smile it was very busy on Saturday night but I was very nervous the bouncer could tell he said I had a lot of anxiety.
The first time I took my bra off on stage was scary! There was so many people I felt like all eyes on me. In the private rooms I'm fine being naked it's just when I'm on stage that I felt like running and hiding.
The first time approaching customers was awkward. Lucky another dancer buddied up with me and got the conversation flowing and we both scored a private show! A couple of times i just said would you like a dance? That only worked on a very shy guy. The others weren't buying it.
The other dancers were nice as the night went on they all seemed really busy and there wasn't much chatting a couple of them gave me some pointers. Be friendly but don't get to involved. The dj, owner and managers were all lovely. I felt rude because I didn't introduce myself or say hi to any of the bouncers. It was overwhelming meeting everyone so next time i go in to work I will do that.
I made $420 in 9 hours...
Well something funny... I didn't really know what to do on stage so I did a lot of crawling around. A female customer tipped me and gave me a little smack on the butt. Naughty because it's a no touching club! The next day i took a photo of my bruised knees and sent it to a couple of my friends to show off what I've been doing lol
Re: Describe your first night...
I drank like a quarter of a bottle before going in. I had a lot of stripperweb info in my head and thought I was totally ready. It went really well actually, the girls were sweet and I had fun. Made $75 lol. I remember I was sooo proud of myself and felt so cool for being a "stripper". I talked to almost every customer. I feel so bad for girls who have a terrible first night because if I did, I probably would have quit stripping all together.. and i really do love my job and am glad I stayed.

Isn't that seriously the best feeling though? That feeling you have before you've gotten used to making stripper money..

Re: Describe your first night...
How did you feel? I was absolutely terrified, like I could barely get out of the car and walk to the door. When I filled out the form and gave my ID my hands were shaking, they gave me shit for that for months when I started working.
What did you do to get over any anxieties? I just worked. I don't think there's any real trick to it, you just get used to it over time.
What was it like being naked for the first time in front of strangers? It's weird but I don't real remember this part. I remember my first lap dance very vividly, I can still see the guys face, but I don't really remember getting naked the first time. I think I might have done it gradually over the night-- pretty sure they just made me get topless for the audition. I remember I was wearing a red bra, a black thong, and a really short black skirt, and I think I kept the skirt on for most of the night and just took the thong off, because I remember getting snapped at for wearing it later on.
What was it like approaching customers for dances for the first time? I was too afraid to speak to them. The girls were so wonderful to me, I was VERY lucky to have picked that club. There was a girl who took me round to customers for the first hour and we would talk to them together, after that I got the hang of it.
How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers? The dancers were incredibly nice to me, they showed me how to dance onstage, have me lap dances, helped me talk to customers. The bouncers were complete dicks and gave me a lot of shit.
How much money did you bring home your first night? I think I only made like $120 or something. I remember I made $200 before tip out/fees. That seemed like an insane amount of money to me at the time and the girls were joking with me that in two weeks I would be pissed to go home with that (and they were right). It's funny how perceptions change, I remember making like $250 after being on a break from stripping and working vanilla jobs and that seemed so awesome, and then a week later I made $300 and was like wtf seriously?
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night? Not really, except I ripped off the first guy I danced for. It was a complete accident but we had spoken, he turned me down, and then when there was a 2-4-1 he came up and asked me for a dance. I went back and I think I started dancing before the song even started, I was so terrified I was dancing like a mad woman and I don't even know if I did a whole song but it definitely wasn't two songs. The DJ was like "what are you doing? go back in there you have to do another song!" but I wouldn't go. The guy didn't care, he was a nerdy, shy, young Asian guy who had never had a lap dance either (perfect first customer).
Re: Describe your first night...
^^ yes lol. I wish I still had that "glow" that I see new girls have.

Lol or how about back when you liked getting ones because it was so cliche stripper chic. Now its like f ones lol
Re: Describe your first night...
I think I made $60 my very first night. It felt like $60,000.
I had actually read every single thread on SW as well as every stripper memoir I could find prior to starting, so I had a good idea of what to expect. During the hiring process, I asked the manager a bunch of specific questions like, "Do the dancers here do air dances or is it high contact? What are your house fees? Do you issue 1099s or other tax documents?" He thought I was lying about never having danced before, lol.
I remember not having the first fucking clue about how to talk to customers despite reading so much about it. I think I just told them honestly it was my first night and asked if they wanted a dance. I stood around a lot. It wasn't a big deal for me to be naked around strangers because I'm not self-conscious that way, but I was really worried about looking and acting like a "real stripper."
The dancers ignored me, staff was nice.
You'll figure it out so just go do it! Our experiences aren't really going to help you that much, because we ALL start out as awkward weirdo newbs and that's NOT what's important about dancing. Go ahead and dive into the club so you can start feeling it out for yourself. Focus on gaining an equilibrium and learning what hustles work for you.
Re: Describe your first night...
Hey yall I finally did it last week!! I have been lurking here since 2011 (yes 3 YEARS) with the on/off idea of trying stripping to get ahead in life finally. I checked out some topless clubs as a customer and ended up getting hired at Babydolls as a waitress but the chain club down the road said theyd let me dance asap. My audition was just me changing into a dress and my heels and walking into the office. He didnt even make me dance or take off anything, he just made sure I had on the correct thong and asked me to come back tomorrow with my bg check.
TL;DR: I made back all the money I had to spend on my stripper gear and more over one weekend. One of the other girls took home 1700 on sat night, My manager actually said to me I had the potential to make that much in one night too cleanly?? It is absolutely exhausting though, do not think itll be easy because it is not but I hope it gets easier. Its hitting me hard physically and psychologically. I dk yet how to make myself feel worth that much money after being happy with $20 tips on 100 bills at waitress jobs my whole life but like I said it is draining so I can probably just try to remember that.
How did you feel? I was more scared going into the audition than I was after I got hired for sure, except I didnt dance for the audition so my first time on stage was pretty awkward since I cant dance.
What did you do to get over any anxieties? I did a lot of research before I did this, from reading these forums to watching videos to talking to dancers at other clubs. I was confident about my book knowledge but being on stage in 5 in heels on tile instead of my apartments carpet right after a little pole cat is very different. I basically was a deer in headlights I couldnt remember anything once I was up there!! I just walked around the stage shaking it and doing yoga poses haha but Ive been watching a lot of floorwork videos and Im getting a pole asap. Im more uncomfortable with the dancing than the being naked lol.
What was it like being naked for the first time in front of strangers? Honestly I went to a swingers club with an ex once and although we didnt swing, I got naked with another girl for the outdoor hottub so I just remembered how everyone came up to us wanting us then, and I got hired so I must be sexy. Its kind of like your first speech in school, youre sooo fucking nervous but when its over you realize everyone else did the exact same thing. We all gave a speech and did I remember the first girls speech? No, bc everyones doing it and the world doesnt revolve around you, only in your head does it so just suck it up (in?) and get up make that money back I made it this far! Thats basically what I said to myself as the dj announced i was a newb. I dont really drink much but 2 shots for sure helped.
What was it like approaching customers for dances for the first time? Ive only worked 3x so this is something I still have to work on and have been researching. I have low self esteem and confidence and dont go on dates or get asked out much bc Im a homebody. Ive been getting omg youre so hot/8.5/classy/youre too gorgeous to strip (hows that work btw?) but I have a hard time approaching groups of men or even any guy above a 6 so if anybody has any tips on that.....??
How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers? Some of the girls were literally silent even when I tried to be friendly but I just immediatley backed down and talked to others or the house mom. Mostly I keep to myself but some of the girls come up to me and are friendly. I talk more to the door hosts and waitresses than bouncers and they kind of remind me of the hostesses Ive worked with in the restaurant industry. In thier own little world but 2-3 of them get that if they help me I want to tip them, one guy has especially been helping and giving me pointers Im glad he was there to talk to when I felt overwhelmed.
How much money did you bring home your first night? They put me on 4pm shift, told me to work minimum of 6 hours. I made 50 after tipout on Th, two guys bought a dance each but I was too nervous and it was dead so I didnt try and got kinda drunk too early on. I left at 11. Friday night I stayed til 1 and made 260 after tipout, was super dead until 11. Sat I was there 4-3 and made 370 after tipout/fees of 50, I sat with one guy too long without pay, didnt approach men much.
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night? Well it happened on Saturday, I was called over from the upstairs stage to dance for a groom, he was super drunk and I was not quite. He made me put my top back on when we got to a quieter area and talked to me for a while, basically told me I was too beautiful, too smart to be here, I kinda broke down and let my real name go, he was like send me an email Ill get you a real job, I sat there with him an hour during prime time -__- I guess I had to talk to somebody about it. We met for lunch and he paid me back what his men should have given me because he makes money and felt bad. We deleted each others numbers there too lol bc it was a bad idea. I fucked up on the no otc rule but it wont happen again as I kinda realized its not "me" while Im there, its hustle hard codenameboss you know my alter ego superwoman and now off! to read hustle hut and grow stronger mwhaha!
Re: Describe your first night...
So my first night was yesterday :) I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be I was just clueless as hell smh lol. I'm really shy and awkward so it was kind of hard to strike up a convo with the guys. I did it with one guy tho and I was so proud lol he ended up getting 2 dances! I know it's not much but it felt good lol. I really need to work on my hustle skills though because tonight I need to be able to sell more than 2 dances. I made most of my money in stage tips tonight which I thought was cool because I suck at dancing on stage on my opinion lol. Tip out was 60 I believe and after that I made like $50. I try not to beat myself up about it though because I am still very new and have a lot of learning to do. It wasn't hard getting naked for strangers or dancing for one. I actually kinda liked it lol. I'm gonna read hustle hut until I go in again tonight and pray to the strip gods I do better lol. :)
Re: Describe your first night...
The big thing about my first night was the surprise everyone expressed that it was my first night. Several people commented that I'm not shy at all and related how nervous they were when they started.
I didn't bring home much money, but I wasn't negative at the end of the night and couldn't wait to go back. I do need to learn to conserve energy and remember to bring high energy snacks and gatorade to replenish.
I'm definitely considering dropping my real life job to do this full time. It's like the perfect job for my extroverted performance inclined self.
Re: Describe your first night...
I love reading about all your baby stripper experiences!
How did you feel? I thought I was going to waitress at a tiny juice bar in the middle of nowhere when I walked in, but thank God the manager rescued me first because there was no money in that. I hadn't even considered dancing because I have small, weird boobs. He saw how hesitant I was (19 and obviously inexperienced) and said to come back before they opened the next night so I could audition in front of him and a couple of the dancers only. It was actually a blessing because they turned it into an hour long coaching session. The outfit I picked was laughable (shorts that covered my entire ass) so one of the dancers gave me some old stuff. They told me what worked onstage and what didn't very kindly. Finally, and I can feel all of you cringing, the dancer coached me on how to give a dance on the manager because I had no idea what to do. It was pretty fucking raunchy (no extras but straight up grinding) but I didn't care. I'd already fucked a ton of guys so that part felt like middle school bullshit.
What did you do to get over any anxieties? Despite the pep talk I was terrified the next day. I drank about three shots in the parking lot, then found out they didn't care about underage drinking so I brought in the little bottle from my trunk. I smoked a bunch of cigarettes and some weed in the dressing room. I partied a lot then so this wasn't out of the norm. I still felt so nervous at times that I was going to throw up, though, and not from drinking and smoking.
What was it like being naked for the first time in front of strangers? I really didn't care.
What was it like approaching customers for dances for the first time? This was AWFUL. At that point in my life I literally had no idea how to talk to anyone who I didn't have something in common with. At a certain point I decided to observe (there were maybe 5 girls and 10 customers all night so this wasn't hard) and let them come to me if they wanted.
How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers? Like fucking gold. They told me how gorgeous I was and reassured me I had it in me continuously. As mentioned before I got a ton of freebies from dancers too, chemical and clothing.
How much money did you bring home your first night? $50 after tipout. I thought I was the only one on this forum until I read this thread! Not approaching didn't work out for me at all because I got one dance over four hours that way. When I approached people I got a few more, even though I think they agreed to it so the awkward conversations would end. Like many of you have said, it felt like a million bucks, especially since it was just college beer money.
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night? Not that I can remember. This was in 2007 and as I've mentioned, I partied pretty hard that night (and got a ride home).
Re: Describe your first night...
I just recently started dancing at my club after waitressing there for a while. I had a great time that first day.
How did you feel? I barely had time to be nervous cause it kinda got sprung on me out of nowhere. It was a Tuesday morning and me and the three other waitresses working for zero customers were fucking around on the stage (since obviously no dancers were up there dancing for no one). I had mentioned to my manager a while ago that I wanted to start dancing at some point but he pulled me aside and asked if I wanted to dance today since we had too many waitresses and not enough dancers. I was so taken aback, at first I said no because I didn't have any stuff with me, but he told me to go home, get ready, and come back ready to work. I took one of the other waitresses with me to do a crash course practice session, went home, showered and shaved, picked out my cutest lingerie, danced around for my friend for a minute, then went back and started working like it was nothing. I'm glad I did it that way, cause if I had picked a start date I would have spent days agonizing over it and building it up in my head. This way, I just dove in and realized it wasn't so scary after all.
What did you do to get over any anxieties? My manager bought me a shot to get me going, some of my regulars from waitressing bought me ones too, then I just got dudes to order me beers throughout most of the shift. I was really excited to get beers, actually, cause when I was a waitress I was only allowed to drink shots. I felt most comfortable having something in my hand, and that way I didn't actually get drunk during the shift. Maybe just a little buzzed.
What was it like being naked for the first time in front of strangers? Strangely not at all nerve-wracking. The only thing I worried about was when I was thrusting my vulva in dudes' faces and thinking, "Oh shit I really didn't do a great job shaving earlier…" But no one seemed to care. I had been so nervous about getting on stage and how I would dance for three whole songs, but most of the time I spent at the tip rail, actually, so I didn't have to do much dancing.
What was it like approaching customers for dances for the first time? Luckily I didn't really have to hustle dances very hard. Dudes came up to me, and my waitress friends were really helpful by tipping me on stage, which got a bunch of guys to come up and do it, and they also told VIP dudes about me. I sold a bunch of dances from stage which was nice.
How were you treated by other dancers and the bouncers? I've worked at the club for a while, so pretty much the same as always except maybe a little more encouraging. Like I said, my waitress friends were the best and really helped me out. I kind of expected the dancers to be more standoffish around me once I started dancing (you know, getting in on their business or w/e), but actually once they found out I was dancing even some girls who had been kind of cold to me before opened up and were very encouraging and fun. One girl saved me from going to VIP with a dude apparently notorious for whipping out his dick back there, so I was really grateful to her! My DJ was awesome, too, played music I loved, and was super hot. That morning when I was messing around on stage he kept trying to show me pole tricks which was hilarious as he is a big burly bearded biker dude.
How much money did you bring home your first night? I worked three hours and made $170, which in my opinion (and especially for a Tuesday day shift at my club) wasn't bad at all. I was so stoked I immediately went home and called all my friends like, "drinks on me, bitches!" I was already so excited to go back.
Do you have a funny or interesting story that happened to you on your first night? In VIP this dude bought me a drink, which I set down on the table behind me while I started to give him a dance. Then our waitress came in and he wanted me to give her a dance. Of course I didn't want to make her uncomfortable, so I just kind of lightly sat on her and tried to whisper for her to let me know if she didn't want to do this. Then he wanted us to kiss, so I gave her the most chaste peck on the lips ever and he was like, "Not like I kiss my grandmother!!" So after the song was done, he paid us both, and when I was trying to get off this girl my tall lace-up boots got caught on the couch, I pulled to get them free, and ended up kicking my beer off the table and sending it flying across the VIP. I was so used to waitressing my first instinct was to rush to go clean it up; I was so embarrassed. Needless to say that guy did not buy another dance from me. I love those boots but they caused me a lot of trouble. My bottoms kept getting stuck on them when I was getting them on and off. I walked around for like five minutes with my bottoms dangling from a rivet on those boots before I realized what was going on. But nothing too crazy happened that shift (or has happened since), thankfully.
