Issue with logitech hd pro webcam c910
Today I keep having an issue with my logitech hd pro webcam c910. The picture and everything looks great until I lean back or move around too much, the color of the picture slowly gets a bright red hue. o_O It rights itself after I move back into my original position. I've had this issue once before right after I got it but it seemed to fix itself. I figured since I know a lot of ladies have this model that someone could help me out, thanks!

Is auto white balance turned off?

I use this cam too, maybe at the options you have it set to follow your face, that could give some trouble.
Re: Issue with logitech hd pro webcam c910
Disable autofocus and enable RightLight. See if that works. Do you have the latest drivers?
Re: Issue with logitech hd pro webcam c910
I guess I should also mention that I am using it on my Macbook Pro. :/ It blows because not all of the software (really non of the important stuff) can be downloaded on this computer. It works a lot better on my Windows based laptop, but for some reason that computer doesn't get full bars with the wireless. SIGH
I even just read this review on Amazon and it seems to be right:
"Yes, it technically will plug in and you can do some basic webcamming on a Mac. But to say it's fully functional on Mac is an absolute lie. Virtually 100% of the software is Windows-only, including the ability to edit even the most basic picture settings. That's right -- on a Mac, it is impossible to adjust a single visual setting -- not brightness, not contrast, not exposure, not focus, not saturation, nothing. Not a single thing. Technical support was very apologetic and agreed with me that they shouldn't advertise it as Mac compatible, given that you can't even use it in a room without stage lighting. Not even their auto-brightness adaptation can function on a Mac -- it's essentially a fixed, dark lens worse than the little dot built into the MacBook Pro we were trying to use it with.
Incidentally, I tried it on a PC, and the quality was exceptional. But DO NOT buy this product for a Mac. Period."
I guess I wil tinker around with it on here and call my internet company. Thanks for the advice!
Re: Issue with logitech hd pro webcam c910
although I do disagree with that reviewer, it's way better than the built-in isight. I also use it with the SM encoder and it usually works well enough (except if I accidentally slightly jostle the cord and it bumps me out of privates, DFJGKHDFJSKHNSD)
Re: Issue with logitech hd pro webcam c910
Those of you who are suffering because of wireless issues will want to invest in one of these babies
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833381014
Their performance is astonishing and they can pretty much catch a lot of wireless networks with a strong signal.
Also, Logitech released new drivers about 2 weeks ago, I suggest you all to update them. One more thing: Even though Macs are nice computers, I always suggest to use Windows 7, at least for camming, for the sake of compatibility. If you can use bootcamp with Windows 7 on your Macbook, please do so and avoid headaches!
Re: Issue with logitech hd pro webcam c910
Um... this is letting me re-thinking about upgrading to a Mac soon (with the specs right for camming)!
A tech guy told me some really good Vaio are as good as Mac but with windows operating system...
What do you computer savvy ladies think?
Re: Issue with logitech hd pro webcam c910
If you're gonna be camming from only one place, get a custom built desktop. It's MUCH cheaper than a laptop/Mac and you can get something with great specs, capable of HD splitcamming for cheap (when compared to a laptop capable of that).
Re: Issue with logitech hd pro webcam c910
macs are A. overpriced versus actual performance and B. quirky when interfacing to the 'non-Apple' real world
Re: Issue with logitech hd pro webcam c910
Check your "right light" box. Basically, play around with checking and unchecking all of the "automatic" features (focus, right light, face follow etc) until you find the combination of automatic and manual that works for you.
Re: Issue with logitech hd pro webcam c910
Use the many cam program for image settings, it's far better then anything the webcam companies put together. As for the odd colors, no idea, place a thread on the logitech form, they are realllyyyy good there. Mac only and we use c910s all the time with zero issues.
Re: Issue with logitech hd pro webcam c910
c910 flickers for me a fair amount - I tend to prefer the 9000 because the image remains stable, I thinkthe whole 1080 thing is what fucks it up? sometimes under settings it I keep it at large instead of max it doesnt flicker
just double check your color intensity maybe and I agree on asking their support
Re: Issue with logitech hd pro webcam c910
^^^ in regard to the 'whole 1080 thing' - although the Logitechs and other USB 2.0 cams advertise themselves as being HD compatible, for a fact none of them are actually capable of generating 1080p HD video at frame rates that are even close to being acceptable. For that you need a USB 3.0 camera ( like the Point Grey Flea 3 ) or an analog camera with video capture card. Either of the true HD camera options will set you back $700+ though, whereas the USB 2.0 cams are at most a couple of hundred bucks.
The Logitechs and other USB 2.0 cams are, at best, really only capable of generating 720p ... and even at this resolution the frame rate will be lower than the 30 fps the standard calls for. So yes if girls are attempting to operate at HD settings that these 'low cost' USB 2.0 cameras are physically incapable of 'keeping up with', problems are to be expected.

Why i never thought about that?!
Plus desktops don't get easily damaged as laptops too...
And I can always keep a laptop for other purposes.
I'm currently looking to buy an apartment soon, for now i live in an flat where thanks to my landlord i don't have a proper space/forniture to have a custom built desktop.

Yeah, I don't bother to use the software included for Logitech c910. Also, I think it's just a complete waste because the software don't offer important features to adjust colors. Ridiculous!
Many years ago, I remember Logitech did a version for both Mac/Win along with software for both operating computers to adjust colors. I do mixture take photos using Facetime HD using Manycam for me just prefer the colors more better, and I use Logitech just for cam shows.
