Does anyone need one of these? I bought one with all the items you need to get going (remote, adapters, elgato for mac) and decided not to use it. PM me for details.

Just out of curiosity why did you decide not to use it? I love mine.
OJenni- Do you make clips? If so, would you recommend it for making clips.
Also, we all know how tech challenged I am. Do you think it will be possible for me to even figure out how to set it up?
Because I find that I never use the remote anyway. So it was kind of a waste for me. My customers have never asked me to zoom in even once. Strange as it may sound.
There's a bunch of tutorials on youtube on how to set it up. I have a mac and I think one of the girls who posts here put a tutorial up for mac specifically for cam girls. She made it super easy to understand how to get it set up.
Amia- have you ever used it to make clips?
No, I didn't really use it except for one night on cam.
Yup that's me YouTube.com/camgirltechhelpQuote:

Yup that's me. I use some software to video capture my screen that also records my voice.
As for the graininess issue you can change your settings using that grabee program that comes with the startech device. Is there anyway you can take a screen shot and send it to me? Camera does not have to be aimed at you, aim it at a pillow or something-I just need to see how grainy it is. Chances are you just need to change your settings in grabee. Make sure its set to s video.

around 40 seconds in I show the grabee and how to get to the settings to change hue and saturation etc
Well I would not say it looks grainy, but rather it looks very dark. Maybe there are some settings in splitcam that can brighten this up? I used Camtwist to fix this issue, but camtwist is mac only software.
I love mine!!
Can anyone tell me if you can use this with a tripod? I cannot find any pictures of the bottom :P.
Also I dont believe it has a built in mic, what do you girls use with it? Im looking for somthing thats highly sensitive to pick up sound from a few feet away.
I bought Yeti Usb microphone(Plug N' Play) a few months ago and i love it!...I really like the sound clarity...I've also seen many youtube stars using it....Here's the link if you like it. http://bluemic.ebuynow.com/us/ebuyno...-usb/yeti.html
You don't actually need one of them you can get the same effect from using the ebenk pan and tilt head or the polaroid pan and tilt head. if your really looking for the remote control feature. for many years I just used a video camera on a regular tripod but the remote that came with the video camera had a remote for the zoom and record and take snap shots.
I sold the first video camera, gave away the second and then pawnd the third. now I am trying to find a similar set up to what I had before.
did you sell this cam?
thanks..
here is what is working so far with the EVI 100, the Startech adapter, and a new Viao. Grabbee sees the cam ok. Splitcam sees the cam with Grabbee off. MFC sees Splitcam. The Flash encoder seems unnecessary, I guess it's good for other things we don't need yet. Problem now is Skype, does not see Splitcam, does see Grabbee but freezes and stops. Any ideas for Skype? A different app?
Thank you
Thank you so much for all this fantastic advice girls you really are all the absolute bomb! What software do I need to make the PC see the feed from the video capture card? Am I right in assuming that it is dependant upon the capture card purchased? What would be the most suitable/most compatible/best ones for both PC & Mac?
I see that the Mac needs "camtwist" - is "GrabBee" the PC comparative?
From what I can see if you have a super whizzy cable connection then you can go right ahead & use USB3 video capture cards but if not then USB2 will have to do.
Have I got everything about right or a bit muddled!
I bought the EVI-d YEARS ago for nearly £1,000 on eBay but couldn't work out how to make it work so sold it thank goodness for pretty much what I paid for it! *phew*
They seem to be a LOT cheaper these days what with everyone hurtling towards HD. I'm not so much in a mad rush since it sounds from Melonie that the sites can't actually pass HD on so it may be overkill at this stage to get USB3 but I would love some clarification on these things.
It's all a bit of a haze but I do believe the mist is starting to clear thanks lasses! x
No grabee is not. You only need a converter like the star tech and many camQuote:
