Re: Why do you ask customers personal questions??
I can't think of any place where the topic of discussion is more irrelevant than in a SC. I've had a great time listening to dancers talk about their kids, their boyfriend, their other job, their hobbies, just about anything except for ex's.
OP, grow up. Really.

Re: Why do you ask customers personal questions??
I have, on occasion, asked a dancer if her folks knew she was a stripper. Not poInt blank, but inquisitively and only when the a certain rapport as developed. I Sometimes I hear a"oh God, no!", to a "yes, but they are dealing with it". There is nonjudgmental, ent on my part (I am in the strip club myself after all)
i am not into the sexy fantasy "let's have fun" talk. One can say that my question is also inappropriate, but, in certain dancer/ customer conversations, it is worth a the talk. It ultimately depends on how you interact with the dancer.
If you want to keep it in "Fantasy Zone", just start off by "you're hot. Let's go hang out back and get the moves on". She'll adapt to you and proceed with your dances and feed you what you want to hear without getting "real" on you.

Re: Why do you ask customers personal questions??
Why do you care what her parents feel?
-
Re: Why do you ask customers personal questions??
Its not something I would bring up, but sometimes custies (in the SC world and out) bring up some indicators, and the conversation progresses. If the stripper is badgering you about personal questions you are not comfortable with, she isn't reading the cues from your response and body language. What do you expect from a girl who's only requirement to be in the club is to have a pulse. There is no quality control or job training. If you don't want to be asked personal questions, then either divert the conversation to something more interesting or ask her to take it down a notch. Sheesh.

Exactly. That's weird, and also a question I don't care for.....EVER. Its almost never a pleasant subject and who wants to be reminded that their parents find them to be immoral/dissapointment/scandalous whore, etc...when they are trying to play a game of flirtation and seduction with you?
-
Re: Why do you ask customers personal questions??
I use personal questions to break the ice. I try to gauge their interest in me by the way they respond.
I am not gathering information for your accountant, spouse or SO. 9 times out of 10 I forget what you said within seconds of leaving you. Its all part of the illusion... If you are slow to show interest or do not seem like a good customer, I will be spending the time on your lap trying to make a connection with my next customer. If you don't like questions, don't answer them ;)

Yeah, 'cause we all know that strippers and customers get judged the same way...::)

Re: Why do you ask customers personal questions??
In all fairness, strippers shouldn't be asking about SO's/relationships and kids. What a buzz kill. I don't blame the guy if he declined her dances. They should know that's anti-hustle and men are there to forget about their same daily routine.
And asking what he does for a living.... If that's ALL he is talking about is work and business, then I'm gonna ask what he does. No harm. I usually don't though. Most of the time they tell me anyway.

This was a question I only brought up on a handful of occasions if I already knew the parents or might be encountering them (for whatever reason) and I only asked to avoid any uncomfortable situations that might catch me by surprise. Other than that, its none of my business. Why bring up what is most likely to be a sensitive subject? And it tended to be more of a "do your parents know what you do?"
-
Re: Why do you ask customers personal questions??
A more sensitive subject would be...How many of your friends daughters strip?
-
Re: Why do you ask customers personal questions??
Only if they ask them first, but of the times I dodge those question with another (usually off topic) question.

Maybe its me, but I can't imagine being willing to pay someone strictly for companionship. Footing the bill for the occasion would be one thing. Footing the bill and paying a fee on top of it is quite another, unless of course it included something more.
Nonetheless, I am still well aware it happens.

Friends? None that I know of. The closest I could come to that would be a dancer friend whose daughter is reportedly testing the waters (though I've yet to encounter her nor do i have any plans to try). Acquaintances? A couple.

Maybe it is you Bem...
FWIW, I don't pay for companionship-I pay for the sex or the lap dances and the companionship gets thrown in because, well, I guess I must just be that awesome to spend time with!8)
But all kidding aside, some guys pay strippers to sit with them and not dance. Some guys pay escorts to have dinner with them and not have sex and, yes, there are guys who pay cam girls to to talk to them and not perform sex acts or even strip. Is it the rule? No, but that doesn't mean it's the exception either.

FWIW, nobody mentioned you and I said i didn't understand why someone would pay for nothing but company though I'm well aware some guys do.

Nobody has to mention me Bem. I was relating my experiences. None of us here needs to be prompted to do that. You yourself do it all the time...

Your comment seemed defensive, that's all. Other than that, I don't see any disagreement.

I don't know what on earth would give you that impression Bem. We all have our own experiences in the clubs and OTC. I've never displayed any sort of regret in my posting here and, you should know very well by now that I couldn't care less what you or any other poster here thinks of me.

So you ask...Do your parents know what I do? So you wont feel uncomfortable? Then they turn into Acquaintances?

When the first half of anyone's comment makes it clear they are setting the record straight they're not involved in a particular activity, it can be perceived as defensive. Apparently, I read (or misread) your comment that way. This discussion is becoming pointless.

I don't understand what you're asking. I've never found myself needing to conceal or avoid talking about my work with anyone. The dancer friends in question might not have cared whether their work came up, might not have wanted me identified as a someone from the club, or might have had parents who didn't know they were dancing. I've experienced all three. Generally speaking, it was an issue best avoided and I needed to know if a cover story might somehow be needed.

Re: Why do you ask customers personal questions??
Bem I'm just trying to understand why your asking a stripper...Do your parents know what I do? If you know their parents, the best way to not feel uncomfortable is not tell her what you do or not ask for a dance from her. & as far as your last experiance you have had of the 3...Have you ever accedently told a Acquaintance their daughter was a stripper?

I never said I asked "do they know what I do?". I've asked "do they know that you dance?" or "do they know how we know each other or that we even know each other?" I'm talking strictly about situations where I've known the dancer a long time and can expect to possibly be in the company of her family some time soon. I pretty much just want to know what I am supposed to know or not know. I would never ask the question otherwise unless somehow or other the conversation went down that road.

Re: Why do you ask customers personal questions??
Good...I'm glad you ask questions bem because I would hate for you to be uncomfortable in front of them...as in parents.
