Need some advice - don't know where to post - dreadlocks on a stripper?
Hello SW I always come on here for advice, because as a dancer i really don't have too many real friends...haha....well I'm curious to everyones option on dreadlocks....i am a sexy thin girl and i make money but i am really really wanting to put dreadlocks in my hair I've wanted them for so long but I'm worried it will hurt my money......

I used to work with a girl with dreads. She was very sexy! Sometimes she would wear a wig. She always seemed to make pretty good money. I'd say go for it, its all about what you want! It might even help your money. And if it ends up hurting it, just get a nice wig or two :)
Re: Need some advice - don't know where to post - dreadlocks on a stripper?
I would say go with the sister locks because they are long and thin, if you want to go with locks. I've never met anyone in the clubs with locks and I'm not a fan of them to be honest. To me they are not classic or clean looking. I'm a natural girl but I would never locke my hair up! But to each it's own... I can kind of seeing it hurt your money because depending on where you work at, alot of guys won't understand the look and may not truely like it. But like she said, you can always wear a wig. Good luck!

I worked with a girl with dreads. She was this hippie chick. Really sweet. Made good money. It worked for her.
My best friend used to work as a shot girl back home. She was more goth/industrial she had black, purple and pink or blue dreads. She did well. I've worn dread falls I made for halloween didn't effect my money.
I'd say go for it.

Dreadlocks will alienate a portion of the club clientele, but as long as you're a good hustler and make the rest of your look strippery (ie. more mainstream) they shouldn't hurt your earnings too much. Of course, this greatly depends on the clientele at your club. How do alternative dancers do there? That's a good starting point to gauge how well you would do with your new look.

Squeak was/is a very successful Philly stripper ( http://www.modelmayhem.com/34282 )... some guys go for it, some dont. Try clip in dreads and see how it works out for you.

Is she still dancing? I agree, she's awesome.

Last I heard she was still @ DD's. To the OP I can't tell you what will or won't work on you. Squeak is obscenely hot with a banging body and an awesome boob job. Some people can rock dreads and some can't. The problem with the whole "exception to the rule" is that people always think they're the exception to the rule. I rocked the goth look for years, and made money but I had to work my ass off. After my BA my earnings increased but I still had to work 2x as hard. I just said fuck it and went for more of a cute preppy look. I'm making the same amount if not more with wayyyyy less effort. The reality of it is alt girls have a very specific demographic that they have to cater to and it can be a pain in the ass. I'd rather have more mainstream appeal and laugh my ass to the bank.
I would think long and hard before you do anything long term.

Brandi_Lynn has dreadlocks and does well with them, i think they go with her overall look and it works for her, but not just anybody can pull them off, and i think it will take time to work with them and get used to them to see how they will look best.

I third Tempest and Seal. Outside of the club I generally look pretty alternative but in the club I sweep my bettie page bangs to the side and go for a much more normal look with natural girl-next-door makeup. I still have jet black hair and pale white skin but due to only having one small tattoo I definitely don't look like the goth chick that I really am. And I make a lot more money than I ever did when I looked like a goth chick. I even wear a blonde wig sometimes but truthfully I've found I make about the same as a brunette now that my hair has grown out unless I'm really feeling the need for a change.
I did work with a gorgeous girl with dreads and she did all right but she was physically perfect, face and body, and even then she would tell me how annoying it was to have guys hassle her every single day about them. You'll have to put up with a lot of stupid questions that'll distract from your hustle and you'll probably get sick of talking about them. I like to go in for the kill as quickly as possible and anything that would constantly distract from that would be frustrating to me. I think the idea of getting dreadfalls to try it out is a fantastic idea, and I also always say that you should be able to do whatever the hell you want outside of the club, I think real life always trumps club shit. You can wear wigs if you really, really want dreads.

Re: Need some advice - don't know where to post - dreadlocks on a stripper?
I love dreads. I find them sexy as hell. I think it would work if you did them thin. Something like this.... http://jeremyandkathleen.blogspot.co...as-dreads.html Or looser like?... http://www.posh24.com/photo/818853/s...ks_blond_stran
I'm at an upscale/gown club & there was this Brunette/European girl that had long thin braids(although not dreads, but just as edgy) & the men LOVED the look. I thought it was hot too. I'm sure she banked.

Girl do what you gotta do. I was in your shoes once and
I was convinced that the whole goth thing was my ticket to financial success. And sure it was...but I also disregarded the advice of older veteran dancers who told me their stories of rocking the goth and how they wised up. If you think you can rock it go for it.
I personally would stick with clip in dreads. Doing that to your real hair is a long term commitment. And if it doesn't work out are you prepared to deal with the consequences?
