crazy nervous about an urban club & still being a baby stripper
so im still just a baby stripper...learning & trying to figure out if im doing things right. In my quest for trying not look like im still new i need a new club. so i headed to the upscale club in my area filled out and application and they told me to come back on any tuesday from 6 to 8 .....why havent i been back yet ! well one is my stupid serving job is messing with my schedule and two im terrified !! ...my pole skills are basic as [email protected]#k!! and the only thing i really have going for me is the fact that ive been blessed with phat cheeks and mile long legs. I can dance thank god for that but being 5'11 with 5in platforms (jeeezus thats like 6'4) kinda makes me think maybe im not a good match for a more urban club ...but damn the money is great there but idk how customers will respond to the worlds tallest phat booty stripper. any advice to clear the nerves .??

Re: crazy nervous about an urban club & still being a baby stripper
Work it.
Long legs, killer booty...what more do you need?! And don't sweat the tall thing. I wear 8 inch heels and I'm 5'5". I have great legs and the heels show em off. And I still don't understand why girls think they need to be a pole kitten to be a "good lil stripper!?" lol. I don't do a thing on the pole except lean against it and I'm always a top earner in all kinds of clubs. Unless it's one of those rare clubs that every singe girl is an acrobat...well then you'll be fine. If you have rhythm and you can dance, I suggest you just focus on your hustle and go get you some money!

Re: crazy nervous about an urban club & still being a baby stripper
How do you know the money is good if you've not yet worked?
I've been doing this for years already, and I can tell you, the pole doesn't mean shit. I don't do a single pole trick anymore and still can bank on stage. It's about stage PRESENCE more than about stage tricks. Not to mention, yes pole tricks can always impress and always look beautiful, but in all honesty, guys don't give a fuck about it. And I can guarantee you're not the only tall chick with an ass.... sooooo.... the only way to get over your nerves is to just do it.

Re: crazy nervous about an urban club & still being a baby stripper
Being 5'5 wearing 8 inch heels is nowhere near the same as being 5'11 and wearing 5 inch platforms. We're the same height so I understand that feeling of not wanting to tower of everyone (or being self conscience about it), it's nerve wracking in a new club. Someone always has some slick shit to say. All that aside, your phat cheeks will obviously work in your favor at any urban club. You can dance, and I'm sure you can work your ass - so you should be good. I've seen a few Blac Chyna vids and never seen her do ANY crazy pole moves, yet she bankssss. If you're really pressed on 'em, why not try a pole class to better finesse your pole skills?
It's kind of asinine to say that pole skills don't mean shit. That may be the case at your club and a few others, but plenty of urban clubs thrive on crazy tricks and aerial circus acts. It seems like that's all they want now, less dancing and more of a pole show. Just being sexy (at some clubs) won't cut it.
Don't be nervous, just go in hype and ready to make your money. Your height will probably work in your favor since most of the females I ever see at urban clubs are short and stacked. You'll stand out, and if you dance well, dudes will be attracted to you no matter what. It's true you'll want to put on more of a "show" if you're on stage, but make it work for you. Nothin' to it but to do it.

your so right ... i just have to do it... but yeah i know a few people that work there and they make alot. its the only upscale club in the area so alot of ball players and celebrities come through unannounced.like last night i was kicking myself because i should have came in tuesday this week but my serving job had me scheduled i would have been able to work last night if i came in tuesday ...wednesday night d.wade and lebron randomly came in on a slow night ...smh spent 30,000 and had the club open later then usual...
in response to Danni yeah alot of the girls belong in circus de soleil and some just do basic tricks but they have alot of personality so ill just continue to do what i know best and do it well

It depends on the attention you're trying to get. Pole tricks will absolutely get a crowd at the stage, and if all you're looking to get is money from stage sets, pole tricks will almost certainly do it for you. But the vast majority of the time, the real money is made during private dances, which means you have to interact with individual customers in a way that will pique their interest and make them want to spend money for one-on-one time--and pole tricks don't really help in that situation. Pole tricks will encourage the rowdy groups making it rain $1s on every girl on stage, but it won't encourage the guy by himself with a grand in his pocket for private dances.

Re: crazy nervous about an urban club & still being a baby stripper
One of my friends use to work at an urban club. She did pole tricks(nothing exaggerated like on most popular YouTube vids) & floor work. She made SICK ass money on stage only, like several Gs. She left bc most of those guys were dealers and got arrested.
I would try it if I were you. Never know how you'll do. So what if your pole skills are basic. They'll prob get better with time. Or you may not need to. Just be sexy and confident.

Re: crazy nervous about an urban club & still being a baby stripper
Different clubs, even black clubs can vary. Some pole pros will get rained on like clockwork, other places people will act unimpressed, or men will complain cause they came to 'see pussy'. The one constant is being able to move your ass, the more tricks the better. I tried to do some bellydancing hip movements and got called out for dancing like a white girl lol. I got complimented on the floor, but rarely ever rained on. Now I know better, and just give the people what they want. I'm tall with a fatty, not as fat as the shot crew, but pretty plump. I know making $$$ on stage consistently against the buttshot girls are pretty futile, so I kill it on stage to the best of my ability, and get the rest of my cash from dances. In most clubs, the stage is not the only place to make money. It is the easiest & flashiest way, and can make three figure income into four or more, but you have to know the club and crowd to figure out the best way to get that cash.

Re: crazy nervous about an urban club & still being a baby stripper
Oh yeah bklynbombshell hit the nail on the head too. Blac Chyna is like a unicorn though, a special case- right place, right time. Great PR from Drake helps her cause. If she was unknown and walked into Onyx in ATL with those moves, the other dancers would run circles around her. She wouldn't make as much, trust me. She does as much hair swinging as booty clapping lol. No shade though, who wouldn't want to make ten.thousands without breaking a sweat? ;) I know I would!

Just go for it! You sound really hot btw! Is there a slower shift you can start on? It might help with the nerves.

A lot of times in urban clubs, the real money isn't made in private dances. It's made on stage. Even dances on the floor are basically for tips instead of $20/song. A veteran urban club goer friend on mine once said, "I've been going to Onyx every weekend for a year, and I just learned that lap dances are supposed to be $20." Another said, "I thought lap dances were free, they come over, dance, and you give them whatever you give them!" lol
Even that 'guy by himself with the grand in his pocket' is gonna get it broken down into a stack of singles and make it rain all night. Urban clubs are all about the show. It's a party. It's not about finding some sad PL in the corner and making him fall in love with you, it's about finding that guy who wants everyone to know he has the most money, so he's gonna throw it. Extravagance!
The advice that some girls give here just doesn't translate into an urban club environment. They'll have you out there in bodyzone apparel moving 'slow, sexy, and sensual' on stage.... looking crazy.
Learning the pole in this kind of environment definitely will not be a wasted investment. It'll help you.

Re: crazy nervous about an urban club & still being a baby stripper
At first I thought I was made for urban clubs due to my prominent behind and the way I can move it (despite I hate rap, and R&B; I'm neutral with hip hop, though), but I was wrong; if the black men attending those clubs aren't old, I will not make any money. I had tried to hustle black men, but the ones that actually make me money are the older ones; the young ones are either racist, ignorant, or both (I am tired of the "so, if you're Pueto Rican, why are you white?" that I constantly get from younger black men).
I will be moving soon to Texas (living in Austin, but commuting to dance in Dallas and Houston), and I hope that the club goers over there are not the same ignorant bigots from Virginia.
To the OP; you'll be thrilled to know how many men love tall women with big asses!!!!!

right and i probably should mention that in this area Lap dances are against the law .... so they have "table dances'' which are not cheap at all. so basically majority of my money would have to be stage money.

^^Practice some booty isolation moves like that while you learn the pole, you will make money.
I didnt realize lap dances were illegal where you are, that does make a big difference. I've never danced at OnyxATL or Stadium, so where I go there is still $ in lap dances, not every guy has a stack to throw and some still like personal attention from dancers and not the whole club. That just underlines the point- get to know the club enviornment, and adapt.

Re: crazy nervous about an urban club & still being a baby stripper
So I have two perspectives on this, one as a pretty frequent custie at urban clubs and also having danced at urban clubs.
As a customer I never knew that table dances were supposed to have a set price either. No girl ever walked up to us and said a certain amount of money. She would just dance and I would tip until I didn't want to anymore and I would politely let her know. She would say thank you and that was it. This was the same protocol I followed when I danced at this same club. There were only set prices for private couch dances which was $25 a song and the club got five of those dollars. As far as dress goes having proper "urban" stripper gear seems pretty important. My friend and I were just starting out and she wore a pretty basic two piece set and a veteran stripper was quick to let us know in the dressing room that she would stick out amongst everyone else and she did. Most of the girls had outfits with chains on them, and netted dresses, knee high boots, things that like. I would also say the pole is extremely important. I had absolutely NO pole skills and it seemed like every other girl in the club did, so much so that I didn't even want to be added to the rotation in fear of looking like a damn fool. A lot of these girls also had table dance tricks, like turning upside down in a customer's lap and such.

Re: crazy nervous about an urban club & still being a baby stripper
Honestly I have jut started like two weekends ago and I was soo nervous that I felt sick the entire drive to the club and the whole month it took for me to decide. I'm the shyest girl ever and have low self confidence. Once you get there and get changed into your sexy gear you'll feel so different. I was comfortable after like an hr and then totally forgot I was walking around in my underwear lol. I worked one shift and since then have been fighting myself to go back tha hardest part at first is to keep going back. The key is to not think about it too much. I had planned everything to a T for weeks and every weekend kept bailing. The night I actually decided to go in was a a spur of the moment and I just said fuck it. It was a great night I had a blast, walked out making some good money for total newbie. You can do this=) girl go make your money!
