Hello,

you know. I'm actually really disappointed that thread got closed.
To answer your question: you can sign up on a girl's independent cammodels page http://hercamname.cammodels.com. You go to that page and then click "join now" on HER PAGE. She will now get 75% of what you spend on her.
Thanks for the tip.
Is there a forum you could recommend though? I have been lurking on Camming Connection for a bit now, and I am still curious about a lot of the economics of the industry. But I am pretty sure I am going to get banned if I post in Customer Connections on this website again.
I also wondered why the thread got closed, but that's up to the mods. Camming Connection is rather extensive - and any info you can pick up about the industry is likely to be there. I suggest you read the thread "Stupid annoying shit I've heard on cam"...and then don't repeat any of that.
As far as your previous thread - What sadie suggested is a great option for Streamate. You can also go to Adultwork, which pays out 65-70% to their models. Profiles there tend to be more extensive than on SM, so maybe it will be easier to pick up on the style of a particular girl. However, a large percentage of girls doesn't use free chat there, so be aware that you may have to go directly to paid chat if you're interested in a model.
Another option are indie camsites which pay a higher percentage as well. Examples: xxxcambabes, realgirlsoncam, adultcamgirlsnetwork etc. Note there's also no free chat on indie sites - you will need to choose a model you like, pay her and the show will be performed on skype, msn, yahoo etc.
You won't find a site where one type of a girl is prevailant, though. Every model has her style and your best bet is to find a girl you like and let her know at the beginning that you're not looking for a session of pussy pounding and you prefer slow and sensual shows (or whatever you prefer). For example - I do a lot of tease shows, but unless I get a hint at the beginning, I am not normally going to take 20 minutes to take my bra off. Let the girl know what are you looking for and chances are you'll be more pleased with the show.
Don't beg for freebies, don't whine, don't ask the girls to meet you or love you...and you'll be a great customer. Camgirls do their best shows for great customers. ;)
Cool, thanks!
Yes, I definitely found the "Stupid annoying shit I've heard on cam" thread. I will not be asking for any open tits ;)
I will try to communicate more with the models. I guess it is obvious when you say it, but I am still sort of getting used to the fact that she can even hear me! Haha.
Thanks!
Well hey, nice to see someone excited and ready to learn how to be a good customer! Communication is very important in any service industry - so the better you communicate what are you looking for, the higher the chances you'll get it. Good luck!
Yoda..he is very familiar with Cam..as seen..I'm sure he will find?
We have talk..I wonder why the formal?
I think we're good here.
My original question was primarily about how the low % cut for models on Streamate influences the prices customers pay. Ideally a customer could pay less AND the model could make more at the same time, if the cut were higher. I was trying to solicit recommendations of such websites, if they exist. But I phrased the question ambiguously, and it may have sounded like I was asking models to reach out to me directly or negotiate.
I understand that being brand new means I need to be careful about things, so I will try to be more clear in the future.
Thanks!
Thank You
^^ When the prices get lowered, even with a higher percentage the girls end up making the same amount as on the big box sites. The only person benefiting there would be the customer, while both the site and the models lose out on money.
Thankls for this post. I have not heard about these sort of sites ( without free chat) Yet. This makes me very intrested. I also see that I have been messing up my shows a bit, as I always go into what makes them happy and dont spend too much time on tease. Maybe I should?
ambercutie.com has forums that are about camming. I enjoy her forum a lot. :)
You get (unless you're with a studio) 35% of your per minute rate. When someone joins under your cammodels link you also get 40% affiliate fee when he gets a show with you, hence 75%. If he signs up under your link and then gets a show with someone else you'll get 20% of that...for doing nothing! It's great!
Perhaps I'm naive but I was just thinking that the OP is trying to save a little cash and make sure that we still get what we're worth. It's better than him just trying to save some cash by joining the stupid-ass cheap gold shows that some girls do.
I thought it was nice of him.
I'd much rather that someone see me indy where my rate is 2.50 and I get 80-90% of it than come see me on SM or something where my rate is 4.00 and I get 35% of it. He saves money, I make money. He gets a longer show, we're all happy.
For SomeDude. You have probably figured it out by now, but please allow me to tell you some general advises for being a customer at any webcam sites. It is not magic, but i think it is good to know and may help you out eventually.
First of all, the models are human beings too......really. And they have feelings too. If you stay nice to them and show respect they will give you respect and quality time.
Do not expect a host to do a free show or lower prices for you.
Be friends but avoid falling in love because it won't do any good for you. Remember it is a service where you have the attention of another person and pay for private shows/chat. Think of it as an "exotic therapy", where the "therapist" never establish relationship with his/her client.
If you have an issue with the host, try to discuss it in a gentle tone with appropriate language. Arguing won't help, neither stalking in the room of the host for "revenge". If you have problem, discuss it or leave the host and search for another. You will be happier too.
You are not necessarily the only person in the model's room, so it may happen that you won't get the full attention in the free chat section, accept it and be patient. If the model knows you, you will get her attention ;)
During paid shows you can expect the attention of the models and good shows, but keep that in mind that they are not robots, so it takes time till they read what you wanted and start the performance/respond.
About the pricing: no matter how much you spend on the models, they will only get a certain % of it. Of course the more you spend the more they will get, but never the full price. It may varries site-to-site but it is between 30-40% of your paid amount of money. After that consider that many of the models work in a studio where the studio owner also has his/her cut from the earned X% or the model is working for a fixed wage in the studio, regardless how much she/he earns online.
I hope it helped ;)

Thx :)
I just wish to help Webcam models and customers the best i can. This industry cannot be learned from the books, neither socially accepted (thou ~30% of the Internet's total traffic is about adult contents) ;) Of course everyone can learn the basics on his/her own after some time, but why shouldn't we help the beginners ? :)
Not to hijack this thread but this question is still on topic. I used streammate before and the way they bill you is kind of weird in that they don't charge your card until the end of the day for private or exclusive. One time my debit card declined from a 15 min exclusive and they never tried to bill the charge again even though It would have gone through the next day. When I logged back in they said I needed to contact customer support which I did and after waiting forever in support live chat I told them to put the charge back through which they never did. Do they take the hit or make the model take the hit when payment is not collected?
