I don't do confirmations, I make it clear that my calendar is my bible so if something comes up they need to inform me asap - but that sounds AWESOME - but I'd rather do that with email...... I hear http://www.mydatabase.us/ lets you use email for confirming, but I haven't bothered to check it out yet.....
If you're selling 'personal services' and use a robot app to call, I'd be put off. Why not just text a friendly confirmation?
I agree, if I was the client I would want to hear a friendly voice letting me know she's excited to see me.
When do you guys call/text to confirm? The morning of the appointment?
Why the morning of an appointment? If you have an evening appointment at 6pm. Confirm at 5pm. Its that simple, ladies.

I don't understand why you would call to confirm, since unexpected phone calls are extremely indiscreet.
If I have an appointment booked the same day, it's confirmed when it's booked.
If I have an appointment booked a few days in advance, I send a confirmation email the night before or morning of.
If I have an appointment booked weeks in advance, I send a confirmation email a week ahead and then again the night before or morning of.
I don't see any reason why special programs are necessary. Sounds very impersonal and off-putting to me.
Protocol should be discussed when the client books the appt. I always ask, "how do you want me to confirm with you? Phone call, email or text?" And always find out out the best time to call and whether or not voice mail messages are ok.
I would think this would be common sense.
