Non-adult work from home jobs?
I've been camming for almost two years, only consistently for the past 6 months, and I don't want to do this anymore. Problem is I'm spoiled from being able to work from home and be my own boss, I can't see myself going back to a conventional job outside of the home. I'm just starting to get So Jaded with working in the adult industry. I want to still be able to work from home, but not in this field. I used to be a phone sex operator and while I enjoyed it, it didn't pay enough and didn't allow me as much flexibility as camming does- I always had to be near my home phone, and I hated that part. I've also experiemented with selling content but I honestly just don't want to be in front of a camera At All anymore, whether live or not.
So do any of you ladies currently work from home as your own boss in a non-adult capacity? If so, what do you do and does it allow you to pay the bills? In addition to camming I also write articles online but it doesn't pay nearly enough to support me right now. I'm thinking of starting an Etsy shop, but I'm not sure if the amount of time required would be worth the return. I'm also really drawn to internet marketing but everything seems to be a scam so I wouldn't know where to begin. Any ideas? Advice? I'd like to be able to stop camming completely by the end of this year so I don't need a get rich quick scheme, just a legitimate way to work from home and be comfortable financially. I love being able to hop on my computer, work for a few hours, and be done. I'm looking to be able to keep doing that, except without the whole masturbation part :)
Re: Non-adult work from home jobs?
I would stear clear from Etsy, they take money from you left and right. They charge you some odd change to post your items then they take a percentage of each sale and it really adds up.
Storenvy doesn't charge you anything but you have to do a lot of the marketing yourself (think indy camming style)
Artfire is good too but they charge you a monthly fee....still cheaper than Etsy and just as much traffic.
I did that for awhile and you really have to keep up and maintain your products which can get tedious if you don't enjoy being creative.
Re: Non-adult work from home jobs?
Yikes, thanks for the advice on Etsy, I will definitely rethink that. I've never heard of Storenvy and only heard of Artfire in passing, I think I'll do some more research. I crochet and I love it, I can see myself crocheting for a living if I can actually support myself with it. I used to sell my goods to coworkers and acquaintances (no website) and sold them for a Nice profit, it's kind of exciting to think I can get back into it "for real" this time. Just out of curiousity, do you personally sell less expensive products and more of them, or more expensive products but less of them? Do you think one strategy is better than the other? I have a fondness for crocheting larger items such as blankets and afghans, but they take so long to make I'd have to make fewer and price them high. Time to do some market research!
Alright ladies, we all know how important having multiple streams of income is. Let's keep the ideas coming!
Re: Non-adult work from home jobs?
Storenvy is still kind of hiding in the shadows, no body really knows about it so it's a lot harder to get traffic to your site..but that's the price of free, lol.
When I had my store I was selling hand made soap miniatures to the soapmaking community on youtube/etsy. I really hated it because it wasn't what I wanted to be making but I made pretty good money. I did sell crochet items for awhile too but I have bad wrists and couldn't keep up.
My advice to you is to experiment with different ideas and find what works for you...just like camming, have to find your niche. Same goes for pricing...don't sell yourself cheap because there are people out there willing to pay high dollars for handmade goods, you just have to get your name out there. :)

Re: Non-adult work from home jobs?
Arise.com is a great work from home option as a customer service call center rep. You have to pay for training class and headphone equipment. The training ranges from $30 to $200 but most are $30. The headset is $30 on Amazon. You get paid bi-weekly. The pay is $9-$14/hr. They have decent reviews on glassdoor.com
Also, check out Mturk for Amazon. Small jobs that take minutes to complete.
Re: Non-adult work from home jobs?
Question, does one need a landline for these jobs?
Thanks! :)

For most of them you will require a landline. I was told you can get away with Vonage but not a Google issued number. They do give discounts for Vonage though.
Re: Non-adult work from home jobs?
One site:
Ratracerebellion.com
It’s the shit.
Re: Non-adult work from home jobs?
I've been searching high and low for a stay at home vanilla Job that's like a phone job, moderator, chat operator, or data entry but all the computers have to be PCs and you have to buy a land line :'(... Then all the jobs for a Mac computer they want you to have 2+ years experience of clerical work, or call center experience, and work 40 damn hours a week. :-[ I'm a fucking full-time college student and they want you to bend around crazy ass schedules and take 50 assessment tests before they even consider you lol. :( I've been on rat race rebellion, WAHM, single mom income... It's hard being a black sex worker trying to transition out of the Fast food industry to something like clerical work to have something that's steady to pay your bills when sex work is slow, because flipping burgers and frying fries for 8.25/hr. I can barely pay my car insurance, phone bill, and health insurance at times. Thank god for student loans I guess. :-\ Sorry to be a bummer but this shit is rediculous and all the jobs in my town that pay more than 8-9.50/hr are industrial work and they want you to work FULL 8-12/hr shifts. >:( And everyone here I know works at LEAST Two jobs.
Re: Non-adult work from home jobs?
Look on indeed.com, they have a lot of virtual jobs. If you also look up major companies like American Express they have at home workers as well
Re: Non-adult work from home jobs?
In going on 15 years of working for myself at home.
I've done work from home customer service for Toucan Communications they are only in Toronto for Swiss Chalet and pizza Pizza, contractxchange.com they are currently in a rush to hire right now, Apline Access - You are an employee who works for home, then Arise Solutions where you an corporation
These are all customer service, contracts, you set up your home like a call center, and you choose which company you want to work with.
They all have their own pros and cons, and boring repeat, wait every 2 weeks for a pay check.
It was fine when I needed to have a cover up job when I was trying to make other people happy about what I really want to do for a living.
Now I Am going deep into high ticket affiliate programs. and coaching, and full-time webcam on private chats.
I've dropped completely being a voyeur house for the big brother voyeur cam style sites. I would consider that non-adult webcam work because of how these websites want the cameras placed in your home. and You continue on with your life, but you are still mindful of the cameras.
Re: Non-adult work from home jobs?
I love that site, Ratracerebellion.com, its the best. Im about to try out 3 new at home gigs for some extra side income.
Re: Non-adult work from home jobs?
Arise.com is to work as a call center rep from home. You have to pay up front for equipment and class. The class is about a month log depending the client you service. Pay ranges from 9 to 14 an hour. Check out their reviews on glassdoor.com, its rare to see a company have a score that high. You are usually required to have a landline (connected via modem or wall). Sometimes vonage works depending on the client.
If you want something different there is Mturk.com which is with Amazon. You complete basic tasks. The more complicated ones pay more. The high ones, $100, are usually for transcription. Some are even for a penny for finding information like an email address for a company. This one is more of a side gig. My favorite ones are the tasks asking for data entry of receipts.
