starting your own private party biz and keeping it legal
Hi. Sorry if this has been posted before. if there is a thread with all this info in here that I couldn't find than please direct me. Anyway I am looking into starting my own private party business, likely not even dancing in it myself, but running one to try and make some extra money on top of dancing at the club. I just don't quite know how or where to go to make sure everything I am doing is legal. I'm taking caring of an entire family so the last thing I need is to get charged with soliciting protitution because I did something wrong or didn't have this paper signed.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
Re: starting your own private party biz and keeping it legal
I started one and I did a few things. Keep in mind this may vary depending on your area but you should check into getting a business license and see what else you needed. When I started it I didn't have to do much because I was running it out of my apartment and not actually having shows there. One thing I did though was create a form that I required all employees to sign stating that they agree not to engage in any forms of prostitution while employed and that any arrest that would entail would not make me liable at all. I then listed what could be listed as prostitution such as vaginal or anal intercourse, oral sex, and manual simulation (aka hand job). Under the contract I detailed everything that could be expected of the dancer such as pay, hours worked, I left nothing not mentioned because I knew someone could go after me for something. I use the same form for all the employees, but it varied moneywise depending on the job.

Thanks. Has it been worth it for you? Do you like doing it? I've danced in bachelor parties, and have always thought about getting into the bussiness aspect of it.

For me running a business was more bother that it was worth with all the fees and taxes. I ended up going out of business because the competition was too fierce and more established than me. I ended up though getting several regulars that I would dance for and I didn't have to advertise to keep them.

I see. Thanks for your imput.

Another thing that also kill this business is when larger, more established agencies charge less for the services provided. It is very frustrating getting a call or text message from a potential customer saying "but so and so charge less, why don't you charge me less". Worse, when you do end up charging less, customers ask you why you are charging so little when you're clearly worth more.
Private dancing is a real PITA; I decided to go independent from agencies (in Va they are super greedy and they insist in keeping over 50% of the hourly rate), get my business license and advertise myself. I gave up on it; I'd just stick to club dancing and camming.

You can always do teaser rates to beat the competition out.. than upsell to toy or whipped cream shows etc... have a rate structure that fluctuates with time and services/shows... create packages!
Re: starting your own private party biz and keeping it legal
I never officially was the owner but I did help out a lot once when a friend ran her business. We did great because we kept it rather small only about 6 girls. What worked really great was we all worked for about a year so we were reliable. One thing I've noticed working for so many agencies is girls quit all the time or just are fired basically because they are unrealiable.

^Or because agencies are greedy and like to take a big cut from the dancer's earnings.

Is it worth it to start something like this now? Like a one person operation?
