If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you?
Just curious to see some answers. I would not. I love to perform.

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
Hellllll no. I have worked jobs like that, and they fucking suck.
I love dancing. I mean, there are things about it I don't love, but overall I love my job and the life it lets me have.

Years 1-6: No
Years 7-8: Possibly
Year 9: FUCK YES.

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
Would McDonalds give the same flexibility and hours as dancing? If so - then possibly.
But only because Chicken Nuggets are like crack to me.
This issue has been discussed on SW before (the awesomeness of Chicken nuggets, that is. Not McDonalds work vs. Stripping.).

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
Probably not. However if it were office-type work... I'd seriously consider it.
But I do see what you're saying.... I love to perform too.

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
Absolutely would work at McDonalds if it made as much as stripping, in the same amount of hours (let's say an 8 hour shift). I wouldn't have to deal with the gross customers touching me or having to keep putting their hands away during dances. I wouldn't drink. If dancing had only great customers, then maybe i'd think about it. But for the negative of it, and the pain it puts on my feet, and all the alcohol calories I don't need (I can't help myself from drinking in the club), i'd totally rather work at mcdonald's if it earned the same. When i'd go home to my boyfriend I wouldn't be bothered with him touching me just because of some of the inappropriate touches/slight ptsd i've gotten from other experiences. I think it'd be much mentally healthier for me.

Nope. Worked in food service when I was a teenager, and never again. I hate the disrespect you are expected to tolerate at those kinds of jobs. Customer starts screaming at you, nobody comes up and throws him out. You just have to stand there and take it, or YOU get in trouble. At a club, if a guy is disrespecting you, the bouncer comes and gets rid of him for you.

No, you're treated way worse by customers as a McDonalds employee than as an independent contractor at a strip club.

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
I totally worked at mickey d's when I was in high school for like 5 months and NOOOOOOOOO Thanks! It's more work than it gets paid for and you have to wear ugly clothes and smell like fries all the time..No..the only benefit I saw to working there was jacking all the sweet and sour sauce cups that i wanted when no one was looking...but NO I would not work there when I can do much funner things and still make good money ...

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
My first 5.5 years of stripping? No.
Year 5.5+, possible. Depends on hours worked and flexibility and stuff.

Best case scenario. I can't tell you how many times I was told "just sit with someone else" by bouncers and/or management, especially at a certain club on Bourbon St.

I wouldn't work at McDonalds in a million, trillion years.

I used to work in retail and I know this to be true. I always left jobs because people were so disrespectful. At my last job I pretty much said "fuck you" to a customer for the first time, then I gave my 2 week notice a day later because for some reason they didn't fire me for yelling at the person.
I'm always extra friendly as a customer when I go to a fast food restaurant or a store, because even if the people that work there have had shitty customers all day at least they can say they had one really nice customer.

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
Don't think so....After being my own boss, working a flexible schedule, and doing whatever I want to..I highly doubt I would work for anyone ever again lol

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
No, Every job has its downside but by far I loved the money and flexibility of stripping and it just fit my personality. I worked fast food for most of my job experiences and I can say its boring, I feel as if I have no purpose, it makes me depressed, I gain weight from the food, I get sick way more often, guys say way more inappropriate things to me than at the club, actually I think I smoked more pot working in food than dancing, I made 200 in a week maybe, my boss decided my hours regardless of request and knowing its not even possible for me to be there. Seriously I was in high school and they kept scheduling me at 11am without telling me and then yelling at me about how I didn't answer my phone or call to tell them that I was in class. Need I go on?

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
Are you kidding? If I could make the same amount of money working at mcdonald's as stripping, they would have to PULL me away from that greasy fry station! This thread is a huge exaggeration, yeah, it sucks if you're making minimum wage, but flipping burgers for $500/day?? Would you like fries with that, sir???

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
If I could call McDonalds and come in for 4 hours whenever I wanted and STILL make the same money, yes.
Flexibility of hours is what I'm all about as a student. It's important to me that I never have to put in a schedule and I can show up whenever I want and leave whenever I want. I can't really see that type of behavior cutting it in any other job, though.

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
I want to say yes, but I know it's not true. I actually get way more burned out a lot quicker at vanilla jobs than stripping jobs, and I don't think the money has much to do with it. I just hate "corporate culture." I hate the unprofessionalism and hypocrisy of it. You know those cheesy little training videos they make you watch on how to behave in the workplace? Maybe I'm in the minority, but I actually agree with them. I don't take my personal life into work, and I don't particularly want to hear about or care about other people's personal problems at work. I don't want to gossip about coworkers to other employees - I especially do not want a manager gossiping to me about other employees. I think this is the epitome of unprofessonalism - a higher up gossiping about other employees to other coworkers. I'm not a total tight-ass or anything... if people are really friends, fine, gossip/talk/share amongst yourselves, but don't drag me into it. Don't stand there on your first day with me and bombard me with the tragedies of your life and then think I'm weird because I don't want to share my personal shit with you. Don't call yourself my manager and then try to gossip with me about whether or not so-and-so is gay... All this does is make me uncomfortable, and wonder what people are saying behind my back, so why would I ever want to be friends with people who I know talk shit about everyone else? I also like to work when I'm at work - I'm all for the philosophy that if there's nothing to do, there's nothing to do, and you shouldn't be forced to wander around pretending to work just to appear busy - but the flip side of that is that if there is work to do, go fucking do it. I've always felt like the hardest/only worker everywhere I've been... my manager at my current vanilla part-time job is the laziest fuck on the planet. And sorry, but nothing drives me crazier than busting my ass, not saying a bad word to or about anyone, and then having someone who I think has demonstrated monstrously unprofessional behavior all day go on a little power trip and give me shit because I'm not sweeping fast enough for them - or someone taking 10 smoke-breaks in a 4 hour period but giving me shit for standing still for 5 minutes... Fuck...the fuck... Off...
Kind of a long rant to say it, but, that's what I like about the SC. Nobody wants to be friends there - and I don't want to be friends with my coworkers so it works out perfectly. I keep to myself and work at work, and the majority of peoples' natural laziness works in my favor. It's one of the only jobs where if my coworkers are slacking off, it's better for me. So, fine, go take a million smoke-breaks. More money for me.
It's really an adaption to reality thing for me.... I would really prefer to work a vanilla job if people were actually professional and weren't lazy fucks - but because the reality is that the majority of people are not capable of being professional or hard-working, I'm gonna go where it doesn't matter and actually works in my favor.

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
From an escorts point of view, I can second a lot of what is being said here.
Its not just the money, but also the flexibility, independence and the amount of control over your work environment that as a whole makes what we do worth it.

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
Only If I was allowed to dance around naked from time to time, because frankly, I hate clothes.
-
Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
I like coming in & out on the days I want as I please, not working on days/hours i'm told I have to do....I wouldn't mind this in a job I loved, I just know I would not love working in a fast food joint. It's not my passion.
If I get a disrespectful customer, I can walk away or have him kicked out. I have that power, in Mickey D's I wouldn't & i'd have to deal with the BS. Nah, thx. Yeah, we deal with lots of assholes weekly in a SC but we DON'T have to put up with it.
I'd be a fat bitch eating their fries, ugh NO. Who can resist those fries? I stay toned and tight being active in a SC 3-4 nights out of the week.

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
Only if I got to do stage at least once per shift.
Seriously though, no. It's not just the money. I enjoy my schedule or lack thereof. Being able to call in last minute and it's no big deal. The costumes, the makeup, the glitter, the music. And lots of the customers. I worked as a CSR before and oh my god the difference in the people who walk through the club door compared to what I dealt with before.

YES. I worked at a taco bell all through high school (they even made me shift manager) and it wasn't that bad. Some nights were really fun- just me and my fellow co-workers taking two orders every hour playing chess in the closed dining room. I would so do that for 500$+ a day. I love dancing- the flexible schedule, but I'm way ok with showing up somewhere on time and clocking in my hours like a normal person, especially if I made the kinda cash I do dancing.

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
Hell no, working at a food place is really bad for my skin. I'd get frequent breakouts. And like someone above said, the outfits they make you wear are ugly as shit. I get to dress hot and sexy stripping

Re: If you could make the same money you do stripping working at Mcdonalds, would you
I dont think I could work in a fast food place for any money.
The smell from the fat makes me ill.
On a check out though? For sure!
