Newbie question about credit checks and cashing checks
Hi, everyone! I'm new, so please excuse my ignorance on this subject!
I've used the search function, but I didn't find exactly what I needed.
Does cashing streamate checks into your bank account cause streamate to show up on credit checks? I've heard that if you cash your checks into a personal bank account on a regular basis that they assume that's your employer and it has the potential to show up on a credit check. I've also heard that nothing shows up on your credit score unless you actually write it on a credit card application or something like that. Can anyone shed some m
ore light on this subject for me?
Re: Newbie question about credit checks and cashing checks
No, 1099s cause company names to show up on credit checks. It will show up on in-depth ones usually as a "potential employer." I'm sure though, if you don't tell your bank your employer name (they ask for it), and you continually deposit checks that say "Streamates" they may update your file and list your current employer as "Streamates" since that's what Streamate checks say on them.
