Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
I get Versa spray tans every week and a half, but if I could find a lotion that didn't make me slippery on the pole, my tans would last longer AND look better. Even if I put lotion on when I wake up (11am-1pm usually) I am STILL slick feeling when I do pole tricks at 9pm! I have tried to switching to a scentless, light lotion, and its a little better, but not much. Anyone have any good tips/advice? :)
Re: Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
If you're using a light lotion several hours before pole dancing, the lotion probably isn't the problem. If you're new to pole work, maybe you just haven't developed a good grip yet. Or maybe one of your colleagues is greasing up the pole with her lotion. Have you tried mighty grip?
Re: Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
No, I am not new to pole dancing. I know my grip isn't the issue because I can do moves such as shoulder mounts, geminis, butterflies, extended butterflies... stuff that requires a good grip. I honestly think its the lotion that is the problem. I have paid very specific attention to days that I wear it and days that I dont, and the lotion is def the common factor. Also, its my skin that has the "lotion-y" feeling, not the pole... I have really soft, healthy skin already, is it possible that my skin just doesn't need the extra moisture, so the lotion is not fully penetrating my skin??
Re: Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
actually there is one that is pole safe lotion that I have found, vaseline total moisture
I can put this on right before going on stage and its not slippery and makes me stick to the pole. Alethea Austin even recommends it

Thank you Dawnfire! I'll have to try it :) I've given the unscented lubriderm lotion a try, but that was still pretty slick.
Re: Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
I use cetaphil 3-4 hours before work and honestly I have issues doing spins because my skin sticks TOO WELL to the pole.
Re: Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
i only ever put lotion on when I slept, then showers before work :)
Re: Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
I stand corrected.
If your skin doesn't need lotion, and you're just using it to make your tan last longer, why not put it on before bed?
For what it's worth, I use Vaseline's cocoa butter lotion, or the store brand equivalent.
Re: Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
Thanks ladies for all the suggestions! And I really need to start remembering to do it before bed. Im always just SO tired when I get home lol.
Re: Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
You can use any lotion you prefer as long as you you apply it far enough in advance to allow it to sink in properly. If you apply it while you're at work or right before your shift then it's going to be slippery.
Re: Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
I have never used this so I don't know if it lives up to its claims, but here is a body lotion specifically for pole dancers.... http://badkittyexoticwear.com/shop/p...cs-p-1306.html
Re: Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
for a while I was using a coconut spray on lotion from the body shop, and i never had a problem with it. Plus it smells good!
Re: Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
Yeah, I heard about this too. Can anyone verify whether it does or doesn't work?
Re: Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
I have exactly the same problem as you, I get versa sprayed around 3 times a week and my skin is super soft too. Whenever I use lotion at work it's just a sticky mess and don't feel as clean. Jut use it when you get home before bed.

Re: Best Lotion To Use If You Pole Dance??
Rebooting this thread while I look for pole safe lotion. I love the glow a lot of lotions and oils give me but I was always told to never, ever, ever wear lotion at work if I was going to even TOUCH the pole. Is this true? Ideally I shave my
legs in the morning, apply lotion, then gently soap it off in a quick shower before work. I don’t always have time
To do this tho obv. Have I been going in dry for no reason?!?
