What I have learned about the Camming Connection forum in the last 5 months....
It made me sad to see one of the moderators of Camming Connection say in another thread the other day: "CC isn't just about drama even though that's what most of the threads turn out to be."
I don't personally believe that most threads here turn out to be nothing more than simple 'drama'. So, in the interest in being part of the solution instead of part of the problem --- I present for your viewing pleasure what shywebcamgirl has learned on her summer vacation........whoops, I mean from being a part of Camming Connection. (These are not numbered by importance, but instead by remembrance.) Feel free to argue any point you feel is invalid. That is how I learned all of it in the first place. ;D
1. Since we work our jobs from our computer it means that we spend more time at our computer than an average user. This means that debates can get super hot fast because you have an entire community that are essentially 'hardwired' into their workplace unlike other jobs that you can leave home at the end of the day.
2. A lot of the debates seem to revolve around money. (Making money, losing money, who is taking money from who.) This actually isn't much of a surprise since we are all hardwired into 'our workplace.'
3. When 'drama' does break out, telling people that they are 'acting like they are in high school' does not help the situation. Stop, drop and roll people! This is actually a passive-aggressive insult and you are pretty much telling the other person that what they are currently being passionate about is unimportant which it really unfair and not nice.
4. We go against what 'mainstream society' says is morally and ethically acceptable so therefore we all have our own moral compass that we are following.
5. So we are hardwired into our workplace which allows us to answer threads in real time, we talk about money the majority of the time, we each follow our own moral compass and people are surprised that the majority of the threads in this place end up in heated debate? Um, frankly I am surprised that there are any threads that don't end up that way. :O
6. You are probably thinking, what is so awesome about the heated debates that happen in here? Well, when it is done without name-calling or disrespecting the person's point of view it can actually cause you to challenge your own 'personal life views' in a way that having a workplace that you can leave at the end of the day can't. People travel, go to Buddhist Monasteries, and psychiatric hospitals in search of this and we can get it all in the Camming Connection board here on Stripperweb for free!
7. That being said, since we are talking about people who are actually having their 'personal life views' being challenged, sadly a lot of people will let their emotions get in control of their better judgement and they will attack. But no matter what, the other person you are disagreeing with deserves respect. That means no name-calling, passive-aggressive or otherwise. As they say in 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas', "No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride." Consequences have actions. If you can't play nice, it is just a matter of time before you get your ass banned and you won't be able to play at all. I always shake my head at the people who go out in a blaze of name-calling. It has been my personal experience that people never remember what the original fight was about but they will remember which person was most venomous at then end of it all when all is said and done with nothing but disdain.
8. What seems to happen in a community of people who inherently distrustful each other (this isn't my first time with this type of dynamic even though that situation is night and day to this one) is that they are also fiercely loyal to each other and the community as well. Look at the rate that people post here! This is a crazy active and vibrant community. The reason is that we all seem to *love* reading each others viewpoints, even if we disagree with them. Each others trials and tribulations and yes, we even love to cheer each other on occasionally in a positive way.
I hope these facts speak for themselves and that you'll rule once and for all that Camming Connection is not just a place where drama comes to die. It is a passionate, opinionated place full of a wide variety of people from a variety of countries, cultures and social and moral values all held together by the world's oldest profession now updated in new virtual clothes and because all good arguments need to end on a heartwarming note, I can tell you that CC and ALL the people in it -- has made me not only a better hustler but also a more confident, open-minded, and a more generous person.
I rest my case, your honour! :)

Re: What I have learned about the Camming Connection forum in the last 5 months....
I'm more than happy for you to prove me wrong on what I said :) However, in my short time as mod on this forum, CC has had the most drama this whole board has ever seen. Ever. I understand that your job is being online all the time but it's still no excuse for alot of the attitude, (or as you like to say, passion) rudeness and just plain old bullying behavior that I see on here. I hope this thread isn't going to turn out to be CC against kaiarose :/

If it does, I will defend you to the death. ;)
For the record, just because we aren't always on the same page with every issue doesn't mean that I don't respect you as a mod or don't think that you are completely awesome as a person because you are freaking awesome and I admire the heck out of you.

I agree and I will never be bullied nor will I ever get into an argument online. I am way too old to care to argue with people I don't even know. I use the internet to escape and work. Nothing more. I think a lot of ladies could benefit from this post!

I don't think that anyone thinks that camgirls are second class citizens other than camgirls. I have not seen that sentiment on SW at ALL... ever.
the only thing that I can think you are talking about is when people are like "oh drama in CC" but realistically, there ALWAYS IS so it's not anything other than the truth.
CC has its own mods who are doing a great job and are really cracking down on negativity and drama. Same as the stripping side. I don't really ~get this~ but think that it's just more us vs. them which is stupid and seriously... none of the strippers care.

LIke I stated on the "Tuesday slow day" thread, We as as a couple actually make good Tues-Friday. I don't think anyone here is just "crying" about their money per say, but only stating that lately camming has def been OFF for a lot of folks across the board. I noticed the decrease since Jan. And 5 days since you began camming isn't really going to be a future insight to what your going to base your income on. Esp on MFC. Not saying it just beginner's luck, but I feel IMO, we as a couple made BIG BUCKS the first few weeks no mater what site we joined because we "were the new hot couple"..And we still make money, but not like we did the first few weeks. And were on LJ, SM, Cams, Cams4, Chaterbate, ImLive, SW and looking for more lol At least now we have a pretty much base amount that we can count on. And if we don't fair so well on one we can switch to others and back and forth. Either way we still make at least $150-200 or more a night From 9pm-1am. Whether it be from working 1,2 or all the night. But it does help us to hear other cammer's insight of how the days are going or how the site's functions are acting all bonkers. Lets us know what to prepare for or what to steer clear from...

I honestly don't think this is a fair statement to make. I think that the ppl complaining about it being slow or not making the money they used to make are NOT blowing things out of proportion. Only they truly know how their money situation is and it's very unfair for you to say they are making dumb statements when they complain about it being slow. As a matter of fact I find your post very insulting. You've only been camming dear for a week and if you're indeed making $200/day especially on mfc you are VERY lucky. Now let's see if you'll still be that lucky a few months from now, even 2 months from now. I do wish you continued success in camming but you have no right to come on here and criticize anything that these girls say.

Most webcam modeling sites will put you on their own version of a 'new model' page when you first start. This sends hella traffic your way until you are no longer 'new'.
It is also quite possible that you just rock the cam and that you will continue to make money at the same rate after you are no longer in the new model category, but I did just want to mention in case you didn't know.

Ah, but this is what this whole post was about. How reducing everything to 'simple drama' makes us all miss the good stuff that this forum contains.
Don't get me wrong, there are a few disrespectful people here with poor impulse control -- but those people get pointed or banned sooner or later and end being forced to deal with their inability to play nicely with others.

Re: What I have learned about the Camming Connection forum in the last 5 months....
From an older lady here, it always pays to be nice even behind your computer and let the others be mean and nasty. That keeps drama off the boards because you don't go downn to their level.

That should just be common sense. :) Very well-put though Tee. Very well put.

I think she means this MissKatie.
If you're so unhappy with the way things are run around here then why did you come back? When I banned you I told you to come back with a better attitude and it's obvious you haven't and that you're still holding a grudge. Do you need more time away from SW?

Re: What I have learned about the Camming Connection forum in the last 5 months....
I had 'thanked' MissKatie's post earlier because I had thought she was really complimenting the mods (and I'm also glad that Isobel became a mod). I guess I should go back and reread this entire thread, because I'm lost right now...lol.

Re: What I have learned about the Camming Connection forum in the last 5 months....
That's because she deleted what she wrote in the first place and replaced it with "I <3 you Kaia". MissKatie, just because you edited your first post, I was smart enough to report it as soon as I saw it, doesn't mean it makes it ok :/

So am I!! I just started trusting this forum again and get it thrown back in my face. What the hell is wrong with complimenting the mods here? I thought that's what this thread was for. I was just saying how nice it is that when we have a problem here, it gets sorted out nice and quick. I hate it when mods edit posts, but really that's not so bad.
**Oh here's an edit for you....
FUCK YOU!!
The admin/ mod system here absolutely stinks. Not one of them knows their ass from their elbow.
See ya... lol
