Extensive Background Checks and Camming/Phone Sex
I was always told that because most cam and phone sex companies hide behind "distinctive company names" that if someone were to do a thorough background check, they wouldn't find the word PHONE SEX OPERATOR or CAM GIRL splattered all over your background. Of course not, but if they dig deep enough, they will find something.
My question is, if I were to get a side gig and needed an extensive Government background check. What would they find? I've received two 1099 Misc obviously with the job's names on them though they sound very distinctive ending in words like Enterprises and Internet. I know if you personally google both the companies I previously worked for you probably won't find much. However, this is the Government we're talking about. My other concern is that I'm married to a military gent and I don't want to fear applying for vanilla jobs if it's going to harm his reputation as well.

You mean you've applied to vanilla jobs and have gotten hired with no issues? Extensive background checks and all?
Re: Extensive Background Checks and Camming/Phone Sex
Camming is not going to affect you in a background check. The only instance I see anyone doing an extrensive background check is if you are applying for a govt job, no other job is as in depth as they are. A background check is two part, one is the information they find, two is your integrity and how honest you are. So while the information itself would not be cause to deny you, you lying about it or tying to hide it would be instant disqualification.
If you do a search on here, youll find a few threads about this with personal experiences. There is a lady here who was a stripper, went on to get a govt job with high security clearance...she was honest about her job history, and was hired. Background checks arent about judging you, its about seeing what kind of person you are, if you are responsible and whether or not you can be trusted.
Your worry about embarressing your husband, well I cant help you there. No matter what job you apply for, they have the duty to treat everything about you confidentially, and you do have a right to your privacy. The only people who should ever know what is in your file is the one doing the background check, no one else, your boss, co-workers, etc have any reason to know. But of course, with this type of job, anything can be found out by anyone at any time...you put yourself out there everytime you go on cam. Still, odds are higher somone will find you by chance and spread that, than that you get found out because of applying for a job.
Re: Extensive Background Checks and Camming/Phone Sex
Well I cammed years ago for about 3 months on a niche site so I highly doubt they will find that. I'm just wondering if I should apply and whether the government will find out through the 1099 tax forms that were sent in with the company names on there. I did do a search on here but that was based on stripping. The camming I'm not so worried about as the site I worked for never asked for IDs, SSN, etc, they just deposited the money in a epassporte account. I'm a little worried if the phone sex positions I worked for previously will have any affect on things. Considering that they are both under distinctive company names.

I have been camming 4 years and was hired last year at a private investigation firm. They did an extensive background check, and the only thing they questioned me on, was something that was on my credit, and something that happened with my ex. No mention of camming, and I have been camming since 2008.
Re: Extensive Background Checks and Camming/Phone Sex
Years ago before I became a stripper I was a phone sex operator and paid by checks. The company used another name and said the check was for me selling vacuum cleaners or something goofy. I was lucky because I've worked in states (Illinois and Indiana)that didn't require licenses to strip so no record of that, even though a few clubs paid me. In these cases it was listed as waitress I believe. Btw years later I worked a government job that required extensive background check and nothing came up except the agency I ran which was listed as an entertainment agency not a bachelor/bachelorette services.

Like I said, its not so much the job, but your integrity. Since there are tax forms involved, make sure you list something vague to cover yourself. If it comes to it that they question you about it, be honest. Stripping is still as much a part of the adult industry as camming is...its not what you do, but how you handle yourself. If something comes up, dont insult anyones intelligence by trying to get one over and youll be fine.
