Getting Ready for My 2nd Night Dancing; How to handle Out of Shape factor/Lap Dances?
I am so glad to have found the site as I've been researching and getting into a club- so supportive and positive.
I had my audition/first night on Saturday and wow, although I am not totally out of shape, I found myself struggling with my strength and stamina. I know that over time my body will get stronger and my moves will become more fluid, but my concern is remaining sexy and sensual while sweating and feeling the muscle burn. Feel okay on stage cause you can do floor moves but lap dancing killed me!
I saw somewhere someone wrote to take it slow and I definitely will try slowing it down. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it all a bit easier?
xoxo

My first night my legs and knees were pretty wrecked & my moves were not very fluid either. There is an instructional video thread with some sexy dance vids in the stripping general forum and I think it even has lap dance videos that might give you some moves to work with. Watch them, watch other girls, practice, stretch before and after, move slowly, and a little bit of patience will make it easier over time. I know that every day I practiced in the mirror or spent a day at work, I looked and felt a little bit better and felt stronger afterwards. After dancing for a bit you will definitely build up stamina and become more toned, your muscles will be able to handle it, dont worry. :) I thought itd never happen until one day I noticed how amazing my legs suddenly looked and things that were difficult for me in the beginning were now no problem.

Thanks for the great advice and yes, even though I've been in some pain since the first night, I know that it's a good pain and that is a motivator. I will definitely be incorporating your tips!!!

If you get all hot and sweaty, act like it's because the guy is turning you on and just basically feed your customer a line of BS. For some reason they love stuff like that, even though *ew* do they really believe we're turned on by dancing for them??
For example, the other night I was sitting with a custie and I had to leave to go on stage, and when I came back he went to stroke my back and I was all sweaty and gross. I told him "sorry I'm all hot now... it was pretty sexy dancing up and knowing you were watching me *fans self* " and the guy was like :O "Lapdances. Now!" bwahahaha

Drink lots and lots of water... Im pretty much an alcoholic at work (not recommended) but I find when I start to struggle physically if I drink a big glass of water it helps. Also make sure you eat something substantial before work. You are burning lots of calories dancing so you are gonna need that energy. Choose something healthy and low GI though so your energy stays up and you dont get fat. Bring a protein bar or shake to work for a snack halfway through your shift if your energy is falling. Try and work out every day not at work...even if its just an at-home work out or a walk around the block. I know we are all tired after working all night, but seriously getting up and exercising always makes me feel better and you will be keeping your body sexy for work and building stamina. Also the types of outfits you wear might affect how much you sweat. Wear breathable materials where you can like cotton or as little clothes as possible within your dress code restrictions if you have any.
