Newbie in a Dive? Luckily moving to NYC soon!
I just found out what the term "dive" meant and realized that's where I work! I've only been dancing for 4 months and a half and find it very difficult. Some nights the money rolls in and some I struggle to make jack-shit. I have come a LONG way in the past few months but I was thinking I wasn't cut out for my job although I always wanted to do it.
Any advice on making more money in a dive? I've already read the thread in Hustle Hut but any more would be appreciated :) I need to make as much money as I can before the 11th when I move to Staten Island! I hope money there comes easier.

I think that thread just about covered most of the tips! Have you read through the rest of Hustle Hut? There may not be much else pertaining to dives in particular, but a lot of the hustle tips are fairly universal. Like, just because it's a dive, doesn't mean you shouldn't try and cultivate regulars or ask for tips or upsell dances. Basically, you should always be working SMARTER, not harder.

You can make just as much in a dive as a huge warehouse type club sometimes. I've worked at a certain dive for a few years but used to take trips to large 100-150 girls a night type clubs and almost every trip I realized I could have made the same amount back at my dive bar. It's probably better if your new to start there and really perfect your technique before you go to some of the bigger ones. Good luck

Just because you're moving to NYC doesn't mean the money will roll in there either. Not to mention NYC is the big leagues. You better be on your hustle.
I don't know why people hate on dives so much. I love my dive. And as I just said in another thread, dives give you experience, which is never bad.
