Elektra, I'm just going to say "Wow" and leave it at that. I don't normally comment on member pics because I don't want to come across as a pervy lurker, but I felt compelled to make an exception in this instance. Thanks for sharing.

Virginia Biddle (1910–2003) was an American revue performer and showgirl. Biddle was a regular performer in Florenz Ziegfeld's "Follies" shows until 1931.[1]
In July 1931, Biddle sustained burns to her feet and ankles in the explosion of Harry Richman’s yacht Chevalier II. Her friend and fellow cast member in the 1931 Follies, Helen Walsh, was killed.[2] Although she played the benefit performance of the Follies in Walsh's memory, Biddle ended her career on the stage in the wake of the accident, and her injuries also forced her to abandon dancing. She sued Richman for $50,000 damages but received only $50.[1]
Biddle married twice and had three children, later forging a career as a realtor in Old Saybrook, Connecticut.[1][3] In 2003 she suffered injuries in a car accident and died shortly afterwards.

Barbara Stanwyck (born Ruby Catherine Stevens; July 16, 1907 – January 20, 1990)

In 1923, a few months before her 16th birthday, Ruby auditioned for a place in the chorus at the Strand Roof, a nightclub over the Strand Theatre in Times Square. A few months later, she obtained a job as a dancer in the 1922 and 1923 seasons of the Ziegfeld Follies, dancing at the New Amsterdam Theater. "I just wanted to survive and eat and have a nice coat", Stanwyck said. For the next several years, she worked as a chorus girl, performing from midnight to seven a.m. at nightclubs owned by Texas Guinan. She also occasionally served as a dance instructor at a speakeasy for gays and lesbians owned by Guinan.[20] One of her good friends during those years was pianist Oscar Levant, who described her as being "wary of sophisticates and phonies."
Early SC's, in a way.
I was reading about another lady, she got kicked out of ZF for having an affair w/a married man.
She ended up dying of barbiturate o.d.
She was abused physically & mentally too.

The first account of a woman getting “paid” for dancing erotically can be traced back to the Bible, where some interpreters tell us that the daughter of the Jewish Princess Herodias seductively performed the Dance of the Seven Veils to please King Herod during his birthday celebration. Herod was so impressed with (and probably so aroused by) the dance that he granted the daughter anything she desired. Obeying a request from her mother, Herodias’s daughter reportedly replied: “Give me here upon a platter the head of John the Baptist.” That’s a pretty steep price that pious John had to pay for King Herod’s viewing pleasure.
