The "dark web" is mostly drug selling websites, assassins, "cp" and tons of other sick things I don't even want to think about... You can only access these sites using a specific web browser which I'm not going to mention here.
BitCoins are nothing new... I don't trust them, mainly because of it's consumer base. I don't suggest anyone use them, mostly because they are constantly hacked, and you put your security at risk when you use them. I really don't think I'd want any customers that use them. I'd be wondering why they're using this currency in the first place. I would be really suspicious.
Thanks! I changed my post to reflect the correct term.
Also backing you up on the "nothing new". That's how I knew the thread title was for search engines and not people.

There are PLENTY of other safe and secure ways to accept payments from customers. Just search around here and you will find a lot of good, safe, suggestions and places you can accept payments.
Here's one of my big concerns, and I'll admit I don't have much knowledge about how this works, but since bitcoins is "open source" and "nobody owns it"...... think about what others can DO with it. I don't know many people that are going to put their money into something that is "open source" that "nobody owns". What happens then, who is accountable, if your money is stolen, hacked, whatever, etc?
Cam girls are used to being burned, and I don't see many smart ones jumping on this band wagon. Sorry.
Open source is what gives it's security and is consider one its #1 benefits. Everyone can see the code so nobody can do any funny business with it everyone knows EXACTLY what is going on. This is a benefit not a downside. The reason is beneficial that nobody owns it that means nobody can minipulate it ( freeze it or shut it down ) its decentralized this is the 2nd benefit not its downside. Yes, you have to treat bitcoins like money and do the proper steps in protecting it just like you would do with cash its no different. You wouldn't leave your life savings underneath your mattress just like you wouldn't leave all your bitcoins on your computer! You hit on some good points hopefully I answered some of them!:)

Been doing research on bitcoin as a whole, as its so complex and nearly every piece of information I read on it contains the words "scam, ponzi schemes, hackers" etc I think its best to sit back and watch the progress of this one as your likely to lose alot of funds.
There has been some false and negative press about bitcoins. First, bitcoins the technology has proven unhackable the protocol itself. Just like with cash people have done stupid things with their bitcoins leaving them vulnerable.
Quote:
Bitcoins could turn out to be the biggest ponzi scheme of all time, you can get free bitcoins by "mining", I dont think they have any real value, as they are made up with hash tags apparently they can be "made/found" for free or stolen by hackers.
Theres just so much contradicting information on them it feels like theres someone or people at the top taking the p*ss out of people with this virtual currency.
I'm not sure I understand mining is what gives its value people are putting resources behind it . Then there is supply and demand giving its its value currently at $5 dollars. You can only derive value if someone is willing to pay for it.
Quote:
I wouldnt recommend anyone using bitcoins as theres a lack of information at the moment. A look at this page will confuse most people I think :D
Lol ...bitcoinwatch is a good site. What is the most confusing part to you I'll see if I can answer it (:
Quote:
Does anyone here really understand bitcoins? are there master puppeteers behind the scenes? Who decides the value of the coins?
Theres only 21million of them going to be available, people can mine them for free, at some point it will all come down like a house of cards leaving them worthless.
Yup, they could become worthless sure but that hasn't been proven the case. Many times Bitcoins has been written of deads to rights but guess what !? they've only gone up! lol ...since talking to you about it they've gone up a few cents ...and not only will they continue to go up if a webcam system came along that had a steady crowd going to it the price would further go up and you would be along for the ride. The minute you sign up and become part of it adds value to the network almost giving you an investment strategy just for signing up can myfreecams do that ? :P

As someone who does a small amount of SEO and web design I must say I'm impressed with how you've constructed your post and thread topic to be optimized for search engines. It seems clear to me that you've achieved a dual purpose here, to seed Google with more results for bitcoin in relevance to the legal sex industry and your service and to try and recruit a new work/client base for it. Very clever.
No, intentions here just was making everyone aware of the possibilities if a well constructed post is considered SEO manipulating I do apologize I had no idea!

I would have to have a really, really good reason to take bitcoin as payment. I'd need an even better reason to take bitcoin than to take paypal. It's a reputation thing. I know that I'm wicked paranoid but...
The people who know about bitcoin even fewer hit points in "trust stranger on the internet" skill than we cam girls have.
Try telling an average Joe who is afraid to trust anything other than Paypal that he should pay you with the currency developed by the dark internet and he'll disappear even faster than he does when I say, "I take Payoneer, NiteFlirt, or AdultWork". Try telling a cam girl she should accept the currency that was developed to hide illegal activities and is commonly used by hackers, drug dealers and people who consume illegal porn and you'll get suspicious looks like you're getting now.
Interesting what is the "reputation thing" you speak of ? The dark web resides for cash also are you saying people who use use paypal have never used it for nefarious activities like drugs and paypal has never been used by hackers or illegal porn? I can probably google many instances of this but NONE to do with bitcoins. There are plenty of legitimate uses of bitcoin if you need me to point them out I can.
Quote:
Stains two ways
A)If he says he wants to pay in it I know that he's smart enough to figure out how to get services similar to mine without paying for it. Therefore, why is he paying for it?
B)Have you ever been a woman exchanging wads of dollars at a bank on a Sunday afternoon with eyeliner stains on your lids and crumpled hair? Bitcoin is the virtual equivalent of that. Everyone who knows what it is knows who usually uses it and will therefore look at you like you do that. I already get enough shit because the general public think the legal adult industry and the illegal adult industry are all the same. I'm not asking for a second helping.
So the main argument against bitcoins is how they are being used never thought I would hear that one! ? lol ... you realize cash is the #1 used way of payment to buy drugs, kill people, and buy child porn. You know this right ?

Like I said, I'm wicked paranoid, but those are just my thoughts.

What investment strategy? You don't drive traffic, provide a server/site for models to cam on, you don't promote models>All things that myfreecams does along with processing payments and handling chargebacks. Yes myfreecams does offer an investment strategy. What do you have to offer other than a seedy payment processor? Also, you never told us whether you were a rep for bitcoins or bitcam. Who are you?

Yes, this is the other misconception is the volatility issue. You can sell an item in bitcoins and get the cash value excatly at that moment credited. This issue was one of the first things solved. Now if your going to tuck away bitcons and hold on to them yes of course you want to watch if they are going up and down but bitcoins has been stable for the past few months. I currently do 50/50 - 50 saved 50 cashed out :) Good point you raised though!

I think that she made her point perfectly clear. Paypal and payoneer are reputable companies. Bitcoin reputable? Probably not.

Cash is designed to buy everything as cash is king. Bitcoin is designed SPECIFICALLY for shady purchases. If you don't understand why people have a tough time trusting this...Just wow.

And in all honesty, if you don't cam or have never cammed and just don't understand the concerns posted by fellow cam hosts than I don't think you have any business trying to do business here.

Kitten - so basically, if you were to accept bitcoins as payments and lets assume there is a website (bitcams) that has girls accepting bitcoins payments this up's the value of bitcoin. So the bitcoins you are receiving from clients say you get 5 bitcoins at $5 and now there is this new website and people are spending bitcoins on the girls your bitcoins variably will go up in value - we've just seen this recently with a site called satashidice.com -so just you being in the network could be considered an investment just by joining. You can't find that with myfreewebcams they don't offer that investment strategy that I'm referring to . When you say we don't drive traffic what do you mean ? The models are promoted just as myfreecams is. There is a niche audience just waiting to spend bitcoins on this idea this is the audience we are going after - in fact, I've already been contacted by buzzfeed.com who wants to write an article around it. There is already a built-in audience looking to spend.
Yes, I did I said I'm helping Bitcams out. Not a rep for them nor a rep for Bitcoins since nobody owns it! If anything want to educate everyone on the use of this new payment system.

Paypal isn't reputable they have been known to freeze accounts bitcoin you can't. Also, bitcoin isn't a company and can't be told what to do by the "powers that be" like the funny business that goes on with paypal and payoneer. There have been plenty of complaints around payoneer.

Cash is anonymous just like bitcoin. You realize this right ? I mean am I wrong? Bitcoin IS NOT designed for shady purposes what are you talking about ? Bitcoin is no more anonymous then cash. We have everything from gambling sites to buying alpalca socks with bitcoins lol .... bitcoin was not designed to be shady it was designed to be decentralized , free of middlemen and gov't manipulation. I mean please do tell me how Cash isn't used for shady purchases I'm all ears!

I'm going to stop you right here. When hosts sign up with myfreecams, they have a new girl banner already promoting the model and creating an investment strategy, if you will. What exactly do you do and what on earth do you mean that I won't find that with MFC? Do you even know what myfreecams is or how it works?

Again, what investment strategy? You say that there is an investment strategy but you don't go into detail about how that works. Your answers are very vague, almost like copy and paste vague. What exactly drives the value of the bitcoins? Just me signing up sounds pretty flimsy. And it sounds more like it's an investment to you if I join rather than an investment for me. NO you did NOT tell us who you are. "A girl who is helping out bitcams" is NOT sufficient enough as that tells us nothing of who YOU are. You completely danced around the question and talked about bit cam some more. k thanx.

I think I explained it ? you have 5 bitcoins worth $5 dollars from a client right ? by the end of the day if those 5 bitcoins goes up to $5.50 you've made money , correct ? What drives the value of bitcoin is supply & demand like anything else if I have something you want and your willing to pay a certain price this gives its value . You can look at its the currency exchange and see the "buy orders" and "sell orders" . Traffic will be driven through promotion of the site via social media, via the bitcoin community and advertising platforms they offer (I can list them all here if you want) - Also, been in contact with buzzfeed.com who wrote the GirlsGoneBitcoin article this will bring a good amount of traffic thus benefiting the girls who are there early on . So what part is that I don't know what I'm talking about ? Please do tell.

And there is NO funny business with payoneer. They are upfront about who they are and what they do. And they definitely wouldn't get snooty and defensive when a customer expresses concerns.

I wouldn't trust a payment processor that is not regulated and owned by nobody. That shit can be ran out of Stinky Bob's mother's basement and then just disappear one day with everyone's hard earned money and nobody would have to account for it. You're just dense as all hell.

Several people who were making complaints on Payoneer admitted that they never actually read the site before hand and that their complaints were their own doing. Other complaints were about an issue about a site "feature" which was very quickly removed. Payoneer is very reputable and is becoming more widely used.

I've seen from the brief time I've been here some complaints just in general but fair enough. I'm just showing the benefits of bitcoin compared to payoneer - no fee's, no possibly of chargebacks you can make up your own mind but its not a crime to point this out is it ?

Re: Have you heard of this new currency and way of getting paid called Bitcoins?
So it's new?
Bitcoin
https://bitcoin.it/
Mar 6, 2012 – Bitcoin is a digital currency created in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto. It is also the name of the open source software designed in order to use this ...
Why don't you explain that ^^ then? That came up when I googled bitcoin. Notice, it says created in 2009.

Its a new type of currency is what I mean not by the age. Even though 3 years is pretty young. Paypal has been around a long time.
