Nose bleeding? WTF? Warning: *GRAPHIC DESCRIPTION INSIDE*
DISCLAIMER: DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE NOT OK WITH READING ABOUT BLOOD AND SNOT.
I've never had seasonal allergies before in my life, so this is new to me. About a week and a half ago, I woke up with a searing, burning pain in my sinuses that gave me an ungodly "face-ache" for the entire day. I felt congested, but when I blew my nose, no snot came out. It sort of felt like dry sockets or something, but the inside lining of my nose was swollen so I couldn't breathe. It hurt all the way down into my teeth. The next day, I woke up, blew my nose and chunks of dried blood LITERALLY the size of pebbles came out. POOF. Congestion gone. Pain gone. Everything was fine.
Except every day since then (about 7-9 days now) I wake up in the morning with these blood snot rocks in my nose. I blow them out, my nose seeps blood for a few minutes (doesn't drip or anything, I just blot it out and it's fine) then I'm fine the rest of the day. No fever, no aches, no sinus pain, no sore throat... no symptoms other than the nose full of dried blood every morning. Maybe some very minor sneezing during the day but nothing that's bothering me. Having lived in Las Vegas and experienced something similar before, I thought it might be the dry air. But, in LV this would happen for ONE day maybe a few times a year, and with considerably smaller bits of dried blood. I drink about 3L of water a day, and eat a good diet. I know it isn't any kind of vitamin deficiency, and I've never been anemic. There's no swelling of my face, or nasal lining anymore. Just the persistent blood.
Anyone ever experienced anything similar? If so will it clear up on its own? I REALLY don't want to buy a humidifier because I hate the feeling of humidity. Would it be worth it to hose my face out with saline?
It's not causing me any physical pain or distress, it's just uncomfortable and gross. I have also shone a light up in my nose and looked around and I don't see any cuts or abrasions.

Umm, go to the doctor. If I bleed when/where I shouldn't I go to the Dr. You could try a Neti pot- they avtually feel nice: http://www.jadeandpearl.com/catalog/..._image&pID=147 BUT, just go to the docs.

You might need to make a little visit with your doctor.
I get nose bleeds a lot but I'm on Accutane. It is because the inside gets severely dry and cracks. You could always try using lotion or vaseline on the inside of your nose. I don't know what's causing your nose bleeds but maybe it could be dryness because of the dry air.

if they continue maybe you can go to the dr and get them cauterized
Re: Nose bleeding? WTF? Warning: *GRAPHIC DESCRIPTION INSIDE*
That's rather weird. I used to get nosebleeds, like a faucet of blood out of nose, as does my daughter. We went to the doc for it and he said it's normal. Some people just get nosebleeds for no apparant reason. (how can that be normal?) So pebble-sized chunks of dried blood? That, I think, warrants a doctor's visit. Hopefully you'll get a similar verdict, that it's ok and not to worry, and you can use a neti pot or whatever to clear out your sinuses.

May be a smallish ulcer caused by a bacterial infection. Get one or two cans of saline from the pharmacy. I like the kind with menthol. Spray up into the sinuses. The sinus cavities reach up around your eye to the back of the pallet. During the day if there is a small bleed it is draining because your upright. Lie down to sleep and it pools thus blood clots.
Shower and run hot water over your face to relax the sinuses, take some aspirin, and flush the sinuses with saline. Should be right as rain in a few days. 24 of 26 things common to Hayfever grow in the Willamette valley or Oregon, so by moving to the PacWest and Seattle you may be encountering something you have an allergy to and is not found back East.

Thanks, Army. The saline washing appears to be working. It's still bleeding, but has drastically improved. I'm giving it another week.

Is your home unusually dry or do you use electric or baseboard heat? Sounds similar to when I moved into an apartment with electric heat and had to buy a humidifier because it dried me out so badly I'd wake up with nosebleeds at night.
Edit, just saw you don't want a humidifier because they make you uncomfortable, but have you tried one that lets you chose the percentage of humidity? a just a small increase could possibly stop the bleeding and not make you feel yucky.
