Re: Influx of Date Raffles?
Well I don't do raffles but as far as panty selling that has been around for ages. I did panty sales before I started camming and that was quite a few years ago. I have seen girls raffles convention meet ups I guess those might be relatively safe.
Re: Influx of Date Raffles?
i saw one girl doing a raffle 77 tokens for a 3some with her and another girl imo that is a super low price for something like that but w e works for her.
Re: Influx of Date Raffles?
Don't have a problem with it. It's their hustle, none of my business. If they're providing actual in person service that's not my problem and doesn't really affect me. I offer camshows, they offer dates. On the other hand, I've done raffles for valentines day and some other stuff where prizes were mailed. I did make a lot from it and don't feel like I was doing anything to unlevel the playing field for other camgirls.

Something about these Date Raffles just seem to have gone to far.
Frankly, no amount of money is worth meeting some strange guy on the internet. This is my opinion. I even saw one girl selling a weekend date at a flat rate of $2000, meaning if you got the cash, you got the girl - no questions asked. Isn't that dangerous?
Would you/have you done a date raffle, and what was the outcome?
I agree that the whole "win a chance to meet me/fuck me in person" is a bit much for me...no disrespect to anyone who does/has done it. I know that some cam girls will hire a bodyguard for something like that, which makes sense. If you're gonna do something that huge, I'd definitely say to take the safest route possible and at least have a bodyguard.
As for me, the only way I could see myself meeting a guy in real life would be if I ever attended one of those cam girl conventions. Then I think it'd be cool to shake hands with some of the guys who have seen me on cam. :) Other than that, the only contact they will be having with me is live on cam/Skype/Twitter/e-mail/phone call using my TracFone (if I'm offering a phone call as a prize or whatever).
Also, I think that if you DO go through with something like this, it probably isn't the best idea to get so comfortable that you tell the guy your REAL NAME and number, etc. How do you know that you two won't get into a fight one day, and he won't reveal private stuff about you in your public chat?
The other day this guy (who knows my real name) made a point of saying "I could out you if I wanted to, but I wouldn't do something like that to you." WTF? So why the fuck would you even say that in my room? Now everyone who was paying attention to that conversation now knows that HE has more info about me than the others. SMH.
Re: Influx of Date Raffles?
I've done date raffles, and have sold dates (mainly when I was in Vegas for AEE) and not only did they help with tokenage, they were a great experience. As long as you're safe, have a bodyguard or escort in the vicinity and keep in a public place, its not that big of a deal. Much less risky than escorting, because you aren't going behind closed doors. I went on four dinner dates in Vegas in January and I had a blast getting to know my fans. :) I don't pay attention to what other girls do, re: fucking on dates...doesn't affect me or my earnings. I focus on ME and no one else. Other girls aren't gonna pay my bills, I am. My earnings keep going up and up so I don't feel the need to worry about what others are doing in their camrooms. *two cents*

Passive aggressive power play? Please tell me you banned that douchenozzle.
On topic, date raffles on mfc always go wild about this time of year. I see nothing wrong with them though I would not do one myself. That's their business plan and has nothing to do with me. Don't feel like you have to keep up with the joneses and sacrifice your boundaries. If what you're doing works for you, keep at it.
Re: Influx of Date Raffles?
Some time ago I received this message in my inbox which also made me awfully suspicious of the raffles in the first place:
"You are gorgeous. I have an idea for you. We hold a drawing/raffle. The catch is that no matter what you will pull my name out of the hat and I won't make you actually do/perform what the drawing is for. Therefore, you say something amazing that all the guys will want. Live sex show on skype etc. Then you charge 10 tokens per ticket and guys buy a shitload because they think they will win. I've done this with other girls and they have killed it. One made 10,000 tokens in two hours. Let me know if you're interested. You have so many people in your room you'd kill it. Essentially you make money and don't have to do anything. Let me know what you think. "
While faking a raffle would be tempting, I just don't think I could break that trust with the people in my room - even if it just a webcam site.
EDIT: I posted this because I wonder if a lot of date raffles are fake. I've seen plenty of date raffles where the girls offer to pay the hotel/airfare of the participant. It just doesn't seem cost effective. However, if the raffle were fake, then the girl would pay absolutely nothing. It would be the easiest money in the world.

I saw some girl on SM a while back (maybe last Dec?) auctioning a chance to win a name tattoo. So the girl is going to have some random guy's name tattooed on her body? I figured that was a set-up. Maybe have her boyfriend open a customer account, use his real first name in his screen name. Then she tattoos her bf's name on her body? Because who is really going to tattoo a fan's name on her body for real? At the same time, she was also auctioning a chance to win a date weekend with her at the guy's place and one to meet her at her place. Of course SM suspended her. But I'm sure there are scams on those raffles all the time.

Yeah, I automatically suspect any girl who is raffling off a date to her hometown all expense paid is a scam. Frankly, I'm surprised men fall for it. I remember watching a girl do a show and raffling off a date and the money was rolling in. Then one guy pointed out she wasn't even writing down the names of the guys tipping! While it's possible she could go in to her records to write the names down, somehow I doubted it.
Like most of you said: "to each their own" I can't help but feel a little sorry for the guys getting scammed. It gives us a bad name. Oh well.

I don't really feel sorry for the guys who pitch in to fraudulent raffles (wishful thinking in grown men is a choice, always) but I do think holding fake raffles can be bad for one's business. I suspect most of my best guys would bail on me (rightfully, IMO) if I pulled a stunt like that, and I wouldn't want to risk their trust or respect. Besides, some of my guys still remember each other from back when I did free chat sites, so I think it's risky to assume that one's customers won't talk and put two and two together when some mysterious stranger wins the grand prize.
Whatever a chica wants to do isn't really my business, in that I don't think the strategies of one chica necessarily reflect upon the rest of us or hurt our earnings (with the caveat that I'm not on mfc, so I do appreciate that I have no personal stake in this kinda thing).
That said, it's not exactly a sustainable way to make $$$$ and the risks are there, in that guys who feel fucked over won't return as paying customers. To each their own. Honestly, everything about mfc seems totally bizarre to me:)

What would this guy have to even gain? He doesnt say. Just the benefit of being a part of giving a performer a bunch of tokens out of the charity of his heart? Well he wouldnt be a part bc he isnt giving anything - basically just acting as a smirking and lurking conduit. If he wouldnt want a skype sex show or pics or a date & it seems like he isnt a regular of yours - why do this or even offer?
(Not asking you BuddysMom, just saying it outloud)
Ill be the first to say I dont get MFC culture but his msg seems like a way to prime a camgirl for some serious blackmail or hold it over her head forever. Hope no one falls for his (probably copypasta-ed) attempt. But let's say it is sincere..... why?
Re: Influx of Date Raffles?
^^^ There are a lot of men who get off on thinking they "know how this works" and that they've come up with a new trick of the trade that no one has every thought of before. I think IF that guy isn't some smarmy blackmail type looking to use intimate knowledge to twist an arm (I really think that's his angle), he's some weird subset of white knight. Like a shepherd. He's in the groups of men who sees a girl they think is new and goes "Oh, well here are some tips to help you succeed bb...". They all want to be more than what they know they are.

The reason they call it a sex video is that they think this will avoid the chance that they will be brought up on prostitution charges. They are mistaken I believe. I don't think you can legally do that without some sort of permit and/or being in LA or somewhere where it is legal to film porn.
To me it's way way shady. I have nothing against prostitution but to open yourself up to legal troubles in an open free chat room is more than a little nuts.

I remember this guy once telling me that he thinks it's ridiculous how you can get arrested for doing Craigslist sex gigs, yet when you are FILMING a sexual video in a hotel it's like "Oh, okay. Carry on..." LOL.
