What are the main differences between working from home and working in a studio (besides the obvious)? I've heard it's more pimpish. Can anyone elaborate or share their experience working in one? Thanks

yep. it SUCKS. working from home doesnt.
There is a sticky (third down) at the top of the page that explains this very thing.
If you mean the physical ones- at least from what I've seen here in Eastern Eu- most of them are like this:
You only have to bring yourself, they provide you the place, the pcs, the cams, the internet, the lighting everything
You are expected to complete minimum X hours a week, and you either decide when and how long, or sometimes they decide that for you
Mostly you do not chat with the guests, costumers, you have a typer there, who does everything for you, you only have to perform what he/she tells you to
You are online at 15-17 sites in the same time, they typer handles them for you
It seems to be nice, cause wow you're going to work for so many sites at once? That must be shitload of money. Well not sure. Since you are not interacting with anyone, only the typer does, and there are so many sites, the personal experience is basically lost on the guys' end, and most of them seeks that. Otherwise they'd just watch youporn. Also it might be nice to have privates in the same time at like 5-6 sites, cause hell that's a lot of money, BUT if they wanna see, hear something different that sucks, cause you cannot satisfy them all, (the typer will just go on with bullshits like, in a moment bb, mmmm, okay, doing it for you shortly bb, it's coming now bb) and probably they will leave disappointed, and never return. Not a good idea if you have plans for a longer period of time.
They (owners) don't care of quality of the costumers, they only want quantity.
You'll most likely get a name like cumonmyfacebb18, tittyfuckwhore2, ihavetightholesbangallofthem or something even if you are a cute, shy girl next door type. They most likely will set your prices to the lowest possible, cause they think that will attract shitloads of guys and money. Well it does not.
From what I have seen, the most what girls/couples got was 50% of what they made. Rest went to the house and the typer.
Some of them get angry when you leave and won't delete your profile, they'd tell that they use geoblocking but they do not etc. You are sharing the bath and the bed/couch you're working on!!! with the rest of the people working there, and they can be quite ughhhhhh sometimes.
I don't see any reason for going there. Maybe if you have no electricity and internet in your own house, you have no other chance. But otherwise... And yea the non english speakers maybe. But I seriously belive they should not be allowed to register at all.
But these are the physical studios that I have seen. There might be better ones.
I worked very briefly for a physical studio, and it was just for one site. They let me pick my name and I got a small room to work in w a computer/cam and bed. It was a lot like working from home, I typed and interacted with the guys myself, brought my own toys and outfits (although I think they had some for girls that were starting w nothing? Not sure).
But this was in the USA, so its probably different in other countries. It worked okay for me since I had no computer/cam and I had no idea how to even sign up for a cam site. They helped me out with what to do in private and how to tease in free and they did all of the paperwork/ID stuff for me. There was no schedule and I could come and go as I pleased.
I have my own equipment now so I would never bother with a studio again, but if you're starting with nothing and you have no clue what to do a studio can be useful until you make enough to buy your own stuff. Or maybe if you're living with parents or something like that
