It should :) one of my customers ordered me the cheapest piece of shit microphone I put on my wishlist and it works just fine. :)
i just moved into a studio apartment a couple weeks ago and the walls are thin and floors are weak. I was in a session yesterday afternoon and right after it ended I heard my neighbors downstairs it sounded like they used a broom to knock on the ceiling. Im concerned that they heard me but how can I help that when a customer asks me to bend over and talk dirty? im near the floor/ ground speaking and playing w myself lol
looks like u need a thick carpet & not to cam on the floor but stay in bed or on a sofa?! or u cam on the floor actually? so carpet, pillows will help, also a portable mic u can have near ur mouth to talk into, wired or not. i dont think u meant u wanna renovate the studio right?
yes I cam on the floor theres wall to wall carpet installed in this studio
I see, ok, u going to buy urself a bed or sofa or something else to cam on? even a mattress? You would need something like that also for ur comfort not only for noise reason. When i said Thick carpet i meant Very thick to absorb the noise not just a carpet.
yeah I have a bed ijust never cam on it, ill get a thick carpet. maybe a white noise machine would help reduce echoing in the place? I feel like when I speak I can be heard even when im speaking low. its just a bit empty in this room
Get a good mic,do not talk loud.
Can you hear them talk and understand their conversation or just muffled sound? If you use a good mic and speak in your normal voice, they won't understand what you're saying even if they could hear you!
I don't hear my neighbors upstairs or downstairs talking ever, I only hear them running the shower, and people entering this apartment. But im pretty sure they heard my voice yesterday when I was camming cause my mouth was right against the carpet. But im able to hear my neighbor next door to me even when he turns his computer on! I can hear him cooking in the kitchen and laughing too.
Nope, your guess is wrong. Sounds are going up! People from upstares must hear you. But ofc if you scream into floor or jump like an elephant they can hear you too!
Maybe just ask them? Like wats up guys?Im doing some aerobic and you are knocking?
would this be a good carpet option?

will I damage my carpet in this studio if I put that rug pad on top of it
I use this product in my room, super confortable and hopefully blocks the sound cause I swear it seems like my building is made out of cardboard.
It's a Canadian website but I'm sure you have the same product in the US (or whenever you are)
This is the same thing except it comes in one piece.
i haven't been hearing the neighbors downstairs anymore but OMG this is so awkward. my neighbor next door to me was just moaning at the wall really loud. i don't know if hes fucking someone or if he was directing it at me but im not even camming right now. i feel so embarassed and am wondering how clear can he hear me moan cause i speak and moan very quietly. damn!
it was directed to me cause i heard him walking around the bedroom moaning. i cant get evicted, what will it take to completely soundproof this apartment
Idk if this'd help, the more stuff you have in the room, the more it should absorb the sound I believe? A thread I found http://https://www.stripperweb.com/f...ht=sound+proof

Is your apartment almost empty?
The less stuff you have in your apartment, the more your neighbors can hear you.
yes i need to furnish the apartment more. im just gonna put my storage boxes and junk against the wall for now until i get a bookcase or something. It's 1:28pm and this guy sounds like hes going crazy. Tapping and throwing shit against the wall. i never heard him knock before and its daytime. what the hell? im not even speaking or on cam right now
Get some soundproof paneling for the walls. You can find ones that look like art work

If you are low on funds and trying to get money for furniture I would definitely recomend craigslist free section. Obviously if you get anything off there you are going to want to have it cleaned and/or smell it at least before you buy it (and prob spray down with bug cleaner just in case)...ok I just realized that didn't sound like the best idea but it's still an option if you want to temporarily fill up your space.
Has anyone actually had a company come out and do this? I have nil DIY skills at all so will start there.
I live in a modern three bedroom house sadly downstairs is all open plan and there is no door anywhere apart from the front one and those on the bedrooms. It's stud walls too.
Because of this I only work in the day time but obviously with things being quiet and it being tough out there anyway I'm thinking I'm a fool to not be trying to cash in more.
Downstairs is out as I would have no idea of someone might wake up and come down or be listening.
My bedroom is next to the bathroom and the room on the otherside is a spare. I'm wondering if there is a solution to ensure that I can't be heard that doesn't make my room look like a music studio. I don't want anyone to know what I'm doing.
I have searched past threads and seen Mics mentioned and back ground music but I need to be not disturbing anyone at all.
The only other potential idea is a garden office thing which is slightly tempting anyway as I feel like I never leave this house!
Has as anyone done this and give an idea of cost? I am struggling to find anything other than attaching panels to the wall which would look hideous.
Honestly, awhile bk I sorta looked into it..I lived in an apartment but wanted to check it out. VERY expensive, I don't remember the cost. I remember even just buying (I forget what it's called) some type of panel put up against the wall was high cost. Although, sometimes things come down in price over time..
I know it's been mentioned on here about those 'egg crate' pads you put on the bed, they're supposed to be noise deadening, or also those moving blankets, they're heavy quilted things used to cushion/protected furniture.
I know the more 'stuff' you have in a room, furniture, heavy drapes, carpet, is noise-absorbing
Good luck, sorry I'm not much help.
You have to understand what you are really talking about. I know I did not until I started to research it only to find out there is no such think as soundproofing. Read this.
If you are attached to another apartment or room in the house the vibrations travel through the solid wood. Only thing you can do is deaden the sounds as best you can. I used moving blankets hung against the walls. If you attach them with screws or nails the screws or nails will vibrate the wall you have attached the moving blankets to. You can't stop it all you can do is reduce the vibrations. Read that link it will help explain the why and how. Never was into science but it sure is fascinating. Good luck!
Really interesting thank you lots to think about there
