Has anyone seen that film? I found it on Netflix and im currently watching it.
For anyone who has seen it, how accurate would you say it was in its portrayal of the business?

Is that the one with Sasha in it?
Yeah that one
Haven't seen it yet but I do watch Satisfaction on netflix, it's an Australian show about a brothel
It's not that good, imo. Tries to be high-brow and artsy, but ultimately falls flat. :(
Boring.
Watched it for a second time to give it another try, but it sucked. The script was very blaaaah.
I remember looking for this on Netflix a few months ago and it wasnt on there...will check again now that it is.
From the reviews youre all giving though, Im worried I may be wasting my time :D
But at least Ill know for myself.
Ill check out Satisfaction as well.
BTW, I recently heard of an independent documentary called Whore's Glory, and its about prostitution in Thailand, Bangladesh and Mexico. It looks very interesting and want to see it...anyone else heard of it?
^^ Never heard of it but I'll check it out. The Girlfriend Experience was...dry. I think it tried to be accurate about what high-end providers might experience but as a movie it was pretty dull. And the narrative was almost monotone lol
I saw some movie about escorts...argh I cannot remember the name but one of you may know. The reviews I read said it was horrible, boring, one guy saying youd think with a movie about escorts it would be hot but it was horrible LoL But they were all guys Im sure thinking it was going to be a soft core porn flick, and it was mostly about the business and the ladies, not about the sexual parts. I really enjoyed it!!!
Anyway, it was about this woman who has a girlfriend, who has no idea thats what she does for a living. She gets work at an agency, where the ladies all check in and stay at the apartment and take dates there. I saw it in the first month I started escorting, now that Ive been doing it a year, Ive gotta watch it again to see if I still like it....if only I could remember the name! :D
I saw the movie and it pales in comparison to Satisfaction. Here's the trailer:

There's also an interesting documentary on prostitution by the National Geographic:

Thanks so much for this! OKay, Satisfaction is on my list... Interestingly, that convo about "going on a regular date" was in that movie that I saw too. And she said almost exactly the same thing this lady in the trailer did. He got really angry though and told her he wouldnt want to be seen in public anyway because all she thinks of herself is that shes a whore blah blah blah and then got really nasty with her. That was actually a really tough scene to watch emotionally..I guess in a way because some of these guys do feel worse about themselves for seeing us. So far the times its happened to me, they are usually apologetic and wishing we'd met in a different way, and just feel bad about having to hobby, but I can see how it could turn to anger and resentment...
Im going to have to watch that NG Docu soon! Thanks for posting up that movie too!
Did you watch Working Girls? Its summary on Netflix matches your description.. "Told largely through the eyes of one of the girls -- a lesbian prostitute (Louise Smith) whose partner has no idea what she does for a living -- the film provides a no-holds-barred portrayal of the world's oldest profession."
Yes!!! That's the one Monisha! Thanks!!!
i just watched the national geographic documentary and really enjoyed it. :)
