What do potential employers really check
I have heard that now some employers check your credit history. I'd assume if u were working in a bank this would make sense, but do many places really do this? I'm out of work and my credit score is not what it once was.
I know they can run background checks, I heard they can ask u for Facebook passwords.my fb page is private and it's not my full name.
Anyway, just wondering, still debating camming but really wouldn't want certain people to find out somehow,
Re: What do potential employers really check
Most employers check your credit now. Every job I've ever had has checked it (it shows up on my credit report when they check, that's how I know) and my current employer checks the credit of everyone, even part time workers and interns.
Re: What do potential employers really check
Background checks vary by employer. Some will be very thorough in terms of past employment, criminal activity, drug use, and yes, even credit history. Others won't even call the references they ask you to provide.
Re: What do potential employers really check
As Shanna mentioned, background checks vary by employer. Some things to consider:
Virtually every employer runs a criminal records check. They are very cheap to run now, particularly with the online services available. If there are any criminal issues, it is best to be upfront with the employer rather than letting them catch it themselves.
Credit checks are not universal, but they are becoming more common, especially in sensitive positions (handling large amounts of cash, having access to bank accounts and/or corporate charge cards, having access to other peoples' personal information, etc.) and/or industries (for example, financial services, government positions, insurance, healthcare). Heck, some of the same services that offer criminal record checks will also throw in credit checks for a bundled price, which I believe is part of what is making credit checks more common.
I don't think that it is very common for employers to ask for Facebook passwords or private pages, but some employers will run searches to see what they can find on public pages.
In terms of camming, idk if that would come back to bite you, but it always could. When you put your face and body on ther Internet, you should not be surprised if images of you end up floating around out there. I doubt that an employer would catch it in an initial background search, but the obvious risk is that it could come out of left field at some point in the future. Idk, but if you are looking to make money in the adult entertainment industry with a limited risk of future exposure I would think that something like dancing might be a better option than camming.
Anyway, just my :twocents:
Re: What do potential employers really check
I definitely know they check criminal but credit varies. My credit isn't bad but I will not allow employers to check it since I feel it's an invasion of privacy and I am not interviewing for financial type jobs. Many states are now banning this and I agree. They also check former employers and yes even colleges you attended, including your GPA.
