Can you make a living off camming?
Hope there's not some sort of thread for this, but couldn't find anything on search. So is it possible to make a living off camming? I have a job at a tattoo shop (low pay) but I plan on becoming a tattoo artist one day so it's great for learning. But stripping in this town sucks, no matter what you do and how you look at it. I'm starting to cam so I know money won't roll in off the bat--but if it's right for me, what do you girls think? Does it pay the bills? Or is it simply only good enough for a side job?

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
Yes you can make a living - More than a living , a saving also .

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
Depends. Generally speaking, you get what you put into it.
If you're dedicated, consistent, take it seriously as a job, then yeah i'd say odds are in your favor :)
If you're just looking for get rich quick scheme, not so much.
Also sometimes it's luck at first some people have a harder time then others off the bat.
Make sure you put your time in and dont expect everything instantly.
I work on MFC and I have a relatively low camscore, but I live comfortably if i say so myself
and am definitely stepping up my game so I can bank more. anything is possible.

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
yes, you can
buts it's a good idea to work a few months with a consistent schedule to see how much you'll average
after all, budgeting can be BITCH!!!!
seriously...a BITCH
esp when one day u make 5 dollars and the next u make 200 u know?
-
Re: Can you make a living off camming?

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
Yes you can I do,YOU HAVE STICK with it don't give up. I have rent and a child,I am making it off of camming so I know you can.The number one thing is you have to put in the hours try new things and more then one site to see what fixs u.Putting it in the hours is key the more regs you will have with that the more money you will make.Read the threads LOTS of info you will need, so just take like 2hrs and just read and you will learn so much what kind of cam to use, to how to fake make fake cum LOL

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
Yeah, course you can make a living of it, otherwise we wouldn't be here!
Give it a go and see. Don't quit your day job, it is NOT for everyone. If you are going in as a newbie with no experiance and no regulars and no other source of income you are going to find it stressful and the days when you make next to nothing are going to take their toll. Start with it as a side job and work your way into doing it full time if thats what you want.

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
Like Dreamofluxie said, don't quit your day job!!! My first month of camming I made about $900 and that was full-time hours. (That was below minimum wage!) The next month was slightly better for slightly fewer hours, but it took about three full months before I saw decent regulars and a full-time income (by my standards) for closer to part-time hours. I'm going to start adding a few extra hours a day so I can build savings. Just don't get discouraged if it takes some time for guys to 'catch on' to you. I think sometimes the decend spenders like to see if you're going to stick around before they start spending time/money with you. Lord knows I got nothing but scraps for the first few months, but I'm so glad I stuck with it. Good luck!!!
Also another reason not to quit your tattoo job, aside from the exerperience your gaining: leaving your house and talking to people face to face helps keep you sane.

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
I don't think she intends to quit her day job...as she stated she wants to become an artist. Apprentices don't get paid a lot so she was asking I believe anyway if she could replace stripping with camming. I say go for it. Fuck it, if you put in the hours you get the $. Simple.

Apprentices actually get paid NOTHING, unless you are doing a working apprenticeship, in which case you get paid almost nothing. And most artists charge, and you have to buy all your equipment....a tattoo apprenticeship will cost you thousands of dollars! A second job is incredibly important.
And YES - you can make a living from camming. You can make a living from camming as a second job! In fact, I am finishing my apprenticeship (build a portfolio now...sort of...taking a little break to sort out my finances - like I said, its incredibly expensive) and this is how I did it!! It's also a good idea because you can continue it while you are building a portfolio, looking for work in a shop, and when you first start in a shop and are building clientele. Depending on the industry in your city, you may spend the first few years as an artist working a second job because the money is really not that good until you are established.
Being a second job makes it harder, especially if you are doing something as time consuming as an apprenticeship - it's hard to find the time. I would start now while you are just working at the shop, build up your client base and your schedule online, and then you will find it easier to make the money you need in a shorter number of hours when you start your apprenticeship.
Good luck!

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
Camming is my side job but it sure helps on weeks when I am slow at my other job or a few hundreds short. It takes hard work and dedication.
Let's say, if you need an extra $1000 a month to be more than comfortable then I don't think that should be a problem!

I find that stripping money is better than camming money

it varies from girl to girl. some bank camming and some bank stripping. but like the OP says, the strip club in her area sucks so she might find a better income camming.

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
Camming is a hard way to make easy money. Keep your day job and cam part time. Camming burns you out after awhile.

stripping money is NOT good in this town. most of us make 20$ a day when it's not the two military payday weeks out of each month. and every five min there's a slow season. stripping here is like pulling teeth and it's not just me.

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
If you put forth the effort, you definitely can make a living off of it!
My husband and I started doing this a little over a month ago.
We follow a set schedule. Work about 6 hours a day, 5 days a week.
In two weeks, we can pay our rent and bills with even a little spending money.
It's our main source of income and it works great for us.

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
As the other ladies have said, you get what you put into it.
When I first started camming, I made about 100 dollars a night, 5 days a week. It's not the greatest, but it's a hell of a lot better than minimum wage.
Rather than setting a time-based goal I would NOT log off until I hit that 100 dollars every night. As time goes on, I raised that goal little bit by little bit. Even saying to yourself "just 5 extra dollars tonight" can help.
And the most important thing? Don't let it get you down. Some nights, you just won't make your goal. And some nights you'll get scammed by some arse of a patron. On that note, I suggest you email support and ask about it. Give them the time it happened so they can check your chat logs. At the very least you can get the fucker banned (I hope).

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
You can but it will take time. I started in Feb with just 2 hours a night. I was married and saving for divorce. Now I cam 6-7 nights a week for 2-4 hours depending on the night. Keep your schedule consistent and pay attention to customers and you can. I wouldnt quit the day job yet though. I do support me and 3 kids on it now That being said I keep some in saving because you never know when you might have a bad week or an off month.

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
Hey i think its sweet ur a tattoo artist, thats so cool ! but hey from ur pic i think you'd do just fine camming. lol try it out for awhile, give it a month or so and see what you average, I support myself and two others and my money is "comfortable" and i only work 4 days a week usually, about 11 hours a week. Some weeks are slower and some weeks are amazing, but when im consistent and pull more hours my paycheck shows that extra effort.
Happy Camming !!!

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
I'd say it depends on how much you need. High cost of living+general decline of this industry might very well mean you can't cam as your primary job.

Re: Can you make a living off camming?
I think it's possible for just about anyone to make a full-time living from camming. You just need to find the right site (or sites) for you, work regularly and establish a fan base. You may not be rollin' in the dough but you'll undoubtedly make more than minimum wage.
I often work very little (sometimes as low as 30 hours per month) and I still make just enough to pay the bills. Of course, it's never good to be THAT lazy. When I actually put effort into camming and try to work at least 20 hours a week, I make more than enough to support a family of 4. I'm not a $10K/month earner or anything close to that, but I earn enough to be satisfied by my standards. And that's still only working part-time hours.
-
Re: Can you make a living off camming?
I would also say it depends on your cost of living and how many people you're supporting. Someone in Los Angeles or New York (where renting a room can be $700+) would need to make substantially more.
Plus, one can make $100 a night waitressing...and though camming may seem easier, it's much more emotionally draining,

+1 on this! I just started earlier this month and have worked about 30 hours so far. I'm not rolling in money, but I've made more than what I would have waiting tables.
I don't mean to threadjack, but I find waitressing more emotionally draining. I can't give rude customers and coworkers the Ban Hammer in real life.
