Questions About When You First Decided on Camming....?
I've been considering camming since I was 18 (I'm almost 21 now! How time flies...)
I even bought an expensive webcam and signed up for a few sites...
I could use the money and I do not have a car so I have terrible trouble getting to the strip club to dance :(
But really my question to all you ladies who cam is how did you get over your reservations about camming? Like I'm at the point where I REALLY want to do it but the only thing holding me back is the fear of backlash from my super conservative, southern baptist family. I know that if I cam I could easily be recorded, uploaded to tube sites, exposed, etc. I am frightened to death of this.
Does me having such an intense fear of being found out mean I should just stick to dancing (even though my financial burdens are growing and I am having transportation issues)?
Re: Questions About When You First Decided on Camming....?
Hi, I decided to start camming a year ago on AW...I started with instant message, then phone chat and then camming when some clients persuaded me to give them a cam session and gave me some confidence in doing it. When I started I had no thoughts of my shows being recorded, I don't know if they ever have been. I figured that if anyone discovered me I'd be asking them what they were doing when they came across me! I'm not going to show up anywhere in ordinary places so it will be a case of them being up to no good in the first place. The truth is the truth, if people find out they find out, the only person who has to be comfortable with what you're doing is you. If you're too scared though it will affect your performance, confidence sells...

If your family is super conservative, why would they be looking at porn sites to begin with??? And if they did see you, would they admit to it? "I was jacking off to some porn and an ad popped up and you were on it."
Re: Questions About When You First Decided on Camming....?
Will the people who you're worried about pay all of your bills if you were completely broke? A lot of people have opinions but opinions don't really matter when you're struggling to pay your bills. Unless they have a better solution or are willing to give you a lot of support , then I wouldn't worry about it. And like the others said, the only way they would see you is if they were doing "wrong" themselves.
Re: Questions About When You First Decided on Camming....?
IF you decide to do this, you need to make peace with the fact that your image WILL BE placed somewhere on the net at some time, and you run the risk of being *found out*. If you cannot make peace with that and have a plan to deal with your friends/family/church, then, you should NOT cam. You must strip far from wherever you live... I mean, the chances a friend of a friend etc coming in and seeing you in person dancing is just as great, right? LOL
I have been camming since 1998, and, I had reservations, not because I would be found out, but, because I had only been naked in front of 2 guys my entire life! And I was in my mid 30s! I had never masturbated or had vibrators, toys etc.
If you are on SM, I know your risk of having your image plastered on the net is higher. Maybe get your feet wet on a site like Adult Work that is based in the UK?
You are already stripping, so in their minds, I am sure you are due for a date in a very warm place when you expire... LOL Funny, I never thought that G*d had a prejudice against strippers and adult entertainers. I also agree with the other one who said, if they happen upon your image, then it means they are looking at porn. So, who is worse? The one looking with lust in their heart or the one performing?
Re: Questions About When You First Decided on Camming....?
Whenever someone's asked me questions about my job, I've had to ask them questions like these
"okay, but are you going to reimburse me for this phone call? Are you going to pay me just to talk to you?"
"If you want to specifically pay me for this pizza I'm eating, that's good."
"Gonna give me 15$ to watch me brush my hair? No?"
WELL THEN
Re: Questions About When You First Decided on Camming....?
With everything you do in life there are repercussions but you can't let that paralyze you. I was hesitant in the beginning but I quickly got over it. You will never have true freedom in life unless you do what makes you happy and not give a fuck what anyone thinks.
Re: Questions About When You First Decided on Camming....?
I started out on SM when I was 19 (I'm 21 now) and the question did pop up in my mind "what if my dad stumbles upon me?" but what I figure is that it would be so awkward for him possibly more so than for me, that I would probably never hear about it. I then started on MFC by the suggestion of a friend of mine, and you are able to block access from entire states so you can prevent acquaintances from stumbling upon you if you so wish.
Re: Questions About When You First Decided on Camming....?
You shouldn't avoid it completely because of fears over being found out. But there are things you can do to minimise the chances of it happening, like disguising yourself through careful makeup contouring, wigs, hair dye, lighting, not showing your face, not posting pics anywhere with your face in, not using the same name on different cam/ promo sites, not having a twitter or facebook, not having a set schedule. All these things will help, but they won't prevent altogether. Anyone could be recorded and reposted, have their images used, or be recognized at any time, and it's something you must be prepared to face IF it ever happens! x
