Re: The Age You Think Dancer Should Retire
You are only a joke at the club in older age if you look it! Half the girls where I'm at now are 23-27 and I blow them away! I did a suite with a guy last night that thought I was 24 when I told him I dances for John kruck because he was a phillies fan back in the day he nearly fell out of his seat, oh and I was with a young bachelor party group and they were saying pointing out 22 year old out of shape, beer gut , greasy hair nasty face looking chicks and making fun of them while telling me and my 50 year old gf we were the hottest girls there. I'm not saying every late 30's 40's should dance because most don't look anywhere near as goos as me and the ones I've worked with in high end clubs across the U.S. but I'm just grateful I'm hot enough to work all over the U.S. at top clubs cuz there's plebty pf 20 somethings here bitching about getting turned down from the same clubs I'm getting hired at.......

I put up a pic o her and I in another thread. Anyways when you still look and feel better than 80% of the girls at any given club you work than who's to say when? I can still work 5-6 days in a row and I sold more suites than any girl most nights since I've been here so......I'll keep on truckin!
is this our mutual friend from montreal? if yes, i can vouch, that girl is a total knockout and an awesome hustler. and also is all round a super awesome human being.
its already been stated taht it depends on the girl, and i agree with that. also , i think it depends on what other stuff goes on in your life. i could not be happy being a full time stripper for another 15 yrs. there is too much other stuff that i want to do. but if someone is happy with it and is hot enough to do it at the age of 50, sweet, more power to them.
and it depends on the club. If your club manager likes to hire girls who are closer to 18, i dont think you will want to be there at 30. even if you are making money, you will feel out of place and like you are the old kid at high school. if your club is balanced with age, then it is not a big deal.

Re: The Age You Think Dancer Should Retire
It really depends on the person.
I work with a woman in her mid-forties who banks. She knows stripping is her one and only career, and she's prepared herself for that. She was saving money for surgeries right when she started, and looks perfectly put together.
I also work with a couple younger girls who need to get their shit together.
And this one retired very recently:

Re: The Age You Think Dancer Should Retire
Im 30 and I personally plan on looking hotter by 40. I def look better than I did at 20 so I dont see why I cant improve by 40. Good health, hard work and a few helping hands from the PS office and I plan to be a hot bitch for many years to come. But I wanna quit around 35 just because mentally I cannot handle it. I think when you should quit is before your spirit gets broken. Im already pretty jaded about a lot of things I wish I wasnt.

Re: The Age You Think Dancer Should Retire
I found that post inspiring, Jessie! I definitely look better than when I was in my early twenties. I was chubbier and not as 'put together' with my look.
My Mother isn't a dancer, she's a businesswoman but I rely on good genetics and I plan on staying looking good into my late thirties at least.
She's almost 70 now was 68 when this photo was taken (left)

I do want a breast enlargement though.

I think a dancer should retire when she's discarding packages of fix-o-dent in the dressing room trash can. -_- (true story)

This sounds like the start of a "You know it's time to retire when..." Thread.

Re: The Age You Think Dancer Should Retire
Thank u all for taking time to post on my thread...yea its the comparison between me and the 20/21 year olds thats getting me down...Last week I wokred with a girl who was so much younger than me that there was a 14 year age difference! She looked awkward as she was brand new but the bar regs tipped her while they tipped me practically nothing..My regs look out but truthfully due to the economy they r tipping less and less....I having mixed emotions about everything..I am suffering from burn out and truthfully since my BA I have gained a couple more pounds..I look younger n the face than my age but my body isnt up to par even tho my freakin boobs r huge..That lady who was 57 looked like a bodybuilder..Thats prolly why she had the longevity..I know of one girl whos easily 39-42 who has a similar body and still dances...I wish I had great genes but I dont..I have to work out super hard and diet like crazy to maintain a more slim weight..This second I am 137...At 125 I look much more toned...Alot of things have been stressing me that I dont wish to get into really but that isnt helping matters..There are some girls who praise me bc I have regs who have been devoted for years..but even they rnt doing alot monetarily...I have just gotten to the point where I dread going into work and with the lack of business I am really not into the job presently..I feel bad though bc I am still spoiled..I have a couple regs that actually give me money even when Im not dancing..Its not huge amounts of money unfortunately...And I even have the option not to have to dance anymore...I feel so torn bc on one hand I have no right to bitch but on the other hand Ive gained some weight and am dealing with alot of bs at the moment...Eh...I hope this passes...
Thank u all for taking a moment to post on my thread, it helps alot :)

Re: The Age You Think Dancer Should Retire
I will say that there are a few things that keep me going: 1), I'm not jaded, 2) I'm blessed with a good energy level and high metabolism, 3) I LOVE to dance! Not just stripping but different forms of dance. I did a 60's go-go thing to a b-52's song and made bank on stage last night. I believe my enthusiasm made that $$ for me. And 4) I"m an athletic person. I've been snowboarding for over 12 years and never missed a season, I perform different work-outs daily, even on the days/nights that I dance. I love pole dancing and the feel of speed and agility.
But, I also know when I feel a bit winded or injured. I know how to step back, slow down and not stress too much.

Re: The Age You Think Dancer Should Retire
I agree! You look amazing!!

Re: The Age You Think Dancer Should Retire
Agreed, you look amazing and I can see why you still bank.

Re: The Age You Think Dancer Should Retire
I just thought about this, but I think my height/weight might have something to do with giving me a younger appearance: I'm 5'2", 98-102. I'm muscular, but not to the point of being super defined or bulgy (veiny?). I also exfoliate a LOT!! It helps with any sign of flabbiness (saggyness? lol).

^ my coworkers from korea SWORE by exfoliation as an anti-aging regiment! Like, exfoliation to the point where your skin is pink, on a regular basis. Maybe they were on to something....:)

Re: The Age You Think Dancer Should Retire
The last time I danced I was 25-26 years old. But I'm now 36. Can I go back to dancing again?
By the way, I workout 5-6 times a week & only a size 10 now (back then I was a 7). So, I'm still in great shape. At least that's what folks have told me. LOL!

Can you travel? My friend is going through a similar thing. She just left were we are because she just said she doesn't feel hot amongs all the young girls at the club this trip( even though most are nasty and she looks wayyy better. She also just got braces and thinks white collar guys don't like that but anyway she says she does good in oil areas were they book like 8-12 girls. Pm me if you like and I can give you the name of some places.

You remind me of Britney Murphy in that second pic and I would of guessed you late 20's. Good for you and no ps?

Aww, that's sweet. She was a cutie before her awful fate. No. No breast aug., booty build up or gel, lipo or facial lifts/incisions. I do get my hair highlighted:-)

Re: The Age You Think Dancer Should Retire
Dorien wow! See you are an example of exactly what I plan to ensure I look like. I only started dry brushing on a daily basis a few months ago so glad to know someone else see the benefits of a good scrub. I def wont be dancing at that age - Ill be fixing puppies and kitties, but I hope to be as hot a vet as you are dancer! Beautiful.

Re: The Age You Think Dancer Should Retire
I will be 29 in 2 months but I can pass for 21 and lots of guys say they don't think I'm old enough to drink (or maybe thats a lame excuse to not buy me a drink lol). With the way I am aging I could probably dance well into my 40's if it just depended on looks but the wear and tear on my body makes me feel like I'm already in my 40's. I am a full time dancer here and I want to travel more as a dancer but will probably start cutting my hours back to part time here very soon. With my plans for travel I say my cutoff is 35 as long as I stay more part time because my body will not handle it much longer full time.

Daisy-
That's a good point. A couple weeks back for about 3 weeks, I was working 4 shifts a week and had pole dance classes 2 days a week. One of those days, i had classes back to back. I had developed (after the end of the 2nd week) minor injuries and by the end of the 3rd week, I saw a chiropractor and got a massage in the same week! I've taken a break from classes and feel so much better. I have a pole at home, so I can use it at my own pace and work on the tricks I want to work on, instead of getting new things thrown at me. (I love a challenge, but I gotta listen to my body).
I started taking calcium religiously when i was 25 or so. I suggest starting now as you start losing bones mass in your 20's. I've really benefitted from it. Glycosamine is a must. I didn't start taking it until 9 years ago. I've never had bad knees or major back problems. Don't forget to take them with vitamin D.
This will help with feeling worn out and give you the longevity to travel. I traveled a bit as well. So much fun!

I went to a Korean spa to get a body scrub. Damn!! They do really scrub you raw! I don't get that intense with myself, but scrubbing just a bit every other day makes a difference.
