Customers asking personal Questions
I'm new to stripping and I was wondering how much is safe to tell the customers about myself. Often they ask me where I am from, if/where I went to school, how old I am blah blah. One time a customer asked me where I was from and I lied and said I was from around where the club was. Then he proceeded to tell me that one of the other girls had told him I was from California and why did I lie. I was just trying to protect myself and make sure nobody can hunt me down or anything. Should I just invent a completely new history for myself or is it safe to say some things and not others?
Thanks!!!
Re: Customers asking personal Questions
I generally said nothing to anyone where I was originally from. Most of the other dancers didn't even know my real last name or know where I lived or where I grew up. Yes some customers if they get your info will hunt you down.
Re: Customers asking personal Questions
I recommend not telling the other dancers many details about yourself because unfortunately (however seemingly nice they are to your face..) some will do their best to use it against you. We had issues at a club I worked at with a couple of bitchy dancers going around and telling the customers where girls were from, which ones had kids, which were married etc. In this particular club management were great and doing something like that to another dancer and jeopardizing their money or safety would get you suspended or fired, but not all managers will be so sympathetic. Especially while you're new, just don't give out any personal details, and then they don't have any ammunition to use against you.
I had a fake "story" for myself when I was dancing. I picked an area that I lived in aaaaaages ago and said I was from there. And this meant that if they went "oh wow! me too!" I actually knew things about the area if they tried to have a conversation about it. I also had a fake "real" name for the customers that just wouldn't let up until they got a "real" name.
Re: Customers asking personal Questions
I usually don't like to reveal to customers what area I live in or too many details about my family or education or prior work. Give them too much personal data and they can research or find the real you. I like to keep work and personal as separate as possible. But to give them a sense of knowing me - I make up data to personal questions they might ask. Of tell them part of the truth. Ex. If you went to school in TX say texas but say a different school from the one you really went to. Just remember to keep your stories consistent.
I had 1 customer ask me where my child went to school --- I had to give him the serious *side eye*. I was like wth?!? If they're smart they'll know some info is just off limits.
Re: Customers asking personal Questions
Invent a new history and stick with it.
You're in a vulnerable role, they do not deserve to know anything.
Re: Customers asking personal Questions
If you tell a a guest something and they tell you another girl told them different say, "That bitch doesn't know me." You can word that anyway you want. Come up with a back story for yourself. When I dance in St. louis I tell people I'm from Dixon, which no one fucking knows where Dixon is. It's a small town. When I dance in Dixon I tell people I'm from St. Louis, and I never ever tell anyone my real name. Not even the other dancers, cause bitches talk, and shit gets around. Sometimes they aren't being mean. Sometimes they are just drunk and lose with information.
