^^^ that laptop would appear to have all of the processing power and memory you'll need for a while !!! The larger question of course is whether the original problem that led to this unit being returned and refurbished was actually 'cured', versus increased likelihood of experiencing another failure in the near future because the underlying problem is still present.
Woo! I was hoping you'd see this and respond. :] The reburbished part worries me a bit but I think with the 90-day warranty it might be worth the risk?
I used to work technical support for a big name computer company. When newegg.com sold our refurbished units we were told to support those refurbished units at the same level as the brand new computers we sold. If you ended up having any major problems with the computer, we would send you a new one.
This was another lifetime ago, so I have no idea what the policy and procedures of most computer manufacturers are now.
Newegg are actually really, really, good when it comes to refurbished items. I personally have never purchased one, but have had roommates, exes, and even Best Buy employees absolutely rave about it. I really *love* Newegg and buy all my parts from them (well, I use to, I moved to Canada and it's not economical for it.). However, with any new computer purchase, if you can afford for the extended warranty go ahead and get it. I take really good care of all my machines, but they'll always need outside maintenance.
