Genital hygiene related to camming
Hello, i need your help ladies regarding a situation occurring here time to time, i cam and it happens to get yeast infection once in a while, i am single so no sex life - not getting it from a partner or so.
Even i pay alot of attention to hygiene i still have to deal with this unpleasant event.
Ok, i am used to wash my kitty inside too (using water only) since i cam cause i am thinking is better for hygiene and to get rid of any odor and lube after work shift, for outside i use a special intimate gel, looks like this is affecting my vagina normal ph balance and washes out the normal protecting bacteria living there, thats what my doc said, she doesent know i cam.
How do you ladies do things? Wash inside before/ after work? My kitty is soo sensitive, i always make sure my hands are clean when i touch myself, keyboard and mouse are clean too, i pay attention what objects i touch when camming still i'll have this problem time to time.
Btw, i saw many girls on cam using fingers or toys from mouth to pussy then to ass then back to pussy/ mouth, i was like wtf, this is soo risky, i do none of these and still getting problems (no offence to performers doing what they doing but i am concerned about hygiene here).
Please if you can relate, how u keep your kitty clean or u get these infection too and how u deal with the situation?
Thank you!

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
Honestly, I rarely use a dildo, but when I do, I just shower normally and Im all good. You may not be getting the yeast infections from improper hygiene.
Some people just GET them, you know? I've only had one 1x and it was due to being on a strong dose4 of antibiotics.

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
I think you are having problems from being too clean. You don't need to wash out your pussy, ever. Just have a regular shower, and you're good to go.

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
Agreed, being overly clean can result in killing the helpful bacteria. Try incorporating yogurt into your daily diet! :)

With all due respect, "iFriends", in what capacity are you posting in this forum? Are you posting as a friendly neighbourhood camgirl would? Or are you posting as 'iFriends, the webcamming platform'?
It is very helpful to have you here in the role of 'iFriends, the camming platform'. If we have questions about camming on iFriends, how the iFriends system works, etc, it is nice to have you available. But please either limit your posts to 'industry-related, ifriends-specific advice', or create a different username for your 'friendly, casual support and encouragement' posts.
It is creepy and confusing when "iFriends, the webcamming platform" posts advice on maintaining optimal vaginal health.
Thank you so much.

Half wondering where you are suggesting she puts the yoghurt! :-P

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
True though Yoghurt can help! I would agree with the overly clean comments. Your vadgy is self cleaning, obviously wash around the outside and labia etc...but you should allow its natural PH to settle otherwise it will get unhappy and start complaining.
Also if you are prone to yeast infections cutting down on sweets and candy and fizzy drinks and sugar can also help. The yeast feeds on sugar. Eat fairly clean, don't over wash and it might clear up. :)

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
Also please please dont use soap or gel inside your vagina! It's so bad for it, all you need is good hot water!

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
I get the yeast infection very often and it is very annoying, if you want to avoid it :
1- Never wash inside your kitty because you will alter your PH and remove the ''good bacteria'' that fights against the bad bacteria
( you will have a perfect hygiene using your special intimate gel outside not more than once a day + a shower )
2- No Ass to pussy
3-drink at least 1.5L of water
4-don't eat lot of a sweets and eat healthy
5-you should eat plain yogurt EVERYDAY

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
Thank you all for advice, looks like i need to stop washing inside (did it with warm water only directly from shower cap), still i have a concern, is it safe to have lube inside/ not wash it out after work?
I use toy + lube when i do pussy play on cam. I drink plenty of water everyday and my kitty is always wet lol, my gyn said my flora down there is "rich" by default, maybe thats why washing inside even with plain water changes things and i get these periodic yeast infections.
I also have a heavy period and use internal tampons otherwise i cant make it; (was not the case this time but sometimes it happens after my period)
Also, water is not always clean in my area so washing inside with it is dangerous (cant help it, that's how it comes thru pipes, hot or cold, i many times gave up work cause water was dirty and was afraid to shower);
The automated washing machine might not rinse laundries properly therefore i have some detergent on panties and this causes problems, still not sure why it'll happen now and again.
I think i should rinse panties manually, wash with previously boiled water, remember to always use a daily liner pad;
Thank you again!!

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
Clean your toys, babywipes, don't douche

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
Yeast is found normally in the vaginal area. Don't douche. Showering a couple times a day is ok. Clean your toys with antibacterial soap and water. Vag care is basic. also if you use toys that are rubber or plastic they will get gross quickly. Buy new ones often. If you keep getting infections see a doctor.

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
I agree. Douching, even with just water, can cause some not so fun infections =/

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
I have a friend who used to get yeast infections ALL the time no matter what she did. Actually, she pretty much had a permanent yeast infection. =/
Turns out she was super sensitive to wheat/yeast in foods, as well as super sugary stuff, and I think something else but I don't remember what, but that was what was causing it. She cut out all of that from her diet and the last time she mentioned it she said she hadn't had another in about a year and they would only come back up when/if she ate any of those trigger foods. Maybe do some googling? She is a super vegan/healthy eater so I know it's a little extreme to cut out all of that stuff if you're not but there is probably some more basic diet changes you could do to help them not occur so often.
& like Naughty said, eating yogurt regularly helps keep the vag happy as well- it keeps the good bacteria in check/balanced to fight off any nasties.

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
Listen to you guys, your "kitty". LOL, what are y'all, 5? Is it your "special no no place" next?
Oh mah gawd. You can pummel it hours a day for strangers, but you can't use an adult word to describe it.
In more helpful news, cleaning it too much can throw off your pH. Try leave it alone for a while. Make sure your lube doesn't have sulphates or sugars in it. Lots of girls here use coconut oil, since it's pH neutral. I've used it for years now and haven't had a UTI or yeast infection in that time. Then again, I also drink Kefir like it's going out of style. That's a bioactive yogurt-like drink that's meant to balance out the fauna in your body. You can also eat bioactive yogurt (not the crap that's more sugar than bacteria) or take a supplement.
Also, your dildo can be irritating to you. Check out the link below for a very good thread on sex toys and sex toy safety.

I used to get UTIs all the damn time from a particular partner. I figured out that it was his fingers. He had ragged nails and never washed his hands. Once he started washing his hands and taking care of his nails I stopped getting infections. Another guy, I had really painful sex with. My gyno suggested that I might be allergic to his sperm. I was! We started using condoms and I stopped having pain.
I guess bottom line is, keep trying different things. One thing for a few weeks, another thing after that. I'd start with changing the lube to something hypo-allergenic and getting a new dildo. Glass or something.

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
Check your lube too. Some of them contain sugar, parabens and glycerin. Double check to make sure your lube is free of that crap. (paraben and glycerin free) Water-based lube is your friend.
Other than that, don't douche. Wash with water only. Use baby wipes/toy cleaner to clean toys in between shows.
ALWAYS disinfect your toys before and after you cam.
Silicone, glass, steel, stone and (some) wood toys can be boiled to be completely disinfected.
Rubber, PVC, Cyberskin, Plastic, and Jelly toys can be washed with mild soap and water. These types of toy materials harbor bacteria because they are porous and can never be 100% disinfected so that may be something to consider too.

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
I agree with a lot of the suggestions already made.
Here are a few more things to consider:
1. What kind of lube are you using? Does it contain glycerine? That can cause yeast infections.
2. What kind of soap are you using to wash? Don't use antibacterial soap or body washes. I prefer to use unscented, undyed glycerine (b/c I wash the outside only & am not sensitive to glycerine).
3. What are you using to clean your keyboard, mouse? Are you using baby wipes or bleach wipes?
4. Can you take an acidophilus supplement? Sometimes that can really help if you can't eat yogurt daily or don't want to.

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
I know some models who use condoms with toys , I assume its bc of cleaning being lazy? or sharing toys? ewww @ sharing toys. BUT it might be a good idea if your pussy is doesnt like to purr after working
I use baby wipes, feminines wipes, toy sprays anything that will clean instantly during show. Always clean in between shows not just shifts.

Assuming you are using a good-quality lube that is meant for vaginas and not for car parts, you should be fine leaving it in.
(And, unless your vagina has the dimensions of a two-person kayak, there should actually not be a huge amount that will stay up there.) :-)

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
My suggestions: either try using silicone lube, or a xanthan gum or seaweed based lube. Because it's just that and water, there won't be any glycerins or parabens or such. I'd cite the recommendation I got about it, but it was in a fetlife discussion revolving around body safe lubes. I'm crazy sensitive so that's what we use when we don't use silicone.
Or you could try something like this
Get nonporous toys. Silicone coated if you can't afford pure silicone, glass, and metal. It's worth looking into different types of silicone.
STOP WASHING INSIDE YOUR VAGINA JEEZ
The only washing you should need to be doing is around your clit and folds!

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
Wow, soo many great answers, advice and suggestions, i am overwhelmed actually, alot of infoes to take into consideration, THANK YOU FOR HELP!!
I use Femina or Nivea intimate shower gel (uk & german products i find in regular stores here or pharmacy), Durex (UK brand) water based lube, pure medical silicone toy, i wash the toy with water and soap after each use and boil it time to time (these days i boiled it after i realized my pussy is not ok and did not use it before i felt ok again after treatment).
Point is i use the same toy for months together with same lube (same brand) and am ok & then all of a sudden pussy feels itchy and i realize it's happening again. I do things following the same routine, eating the same, cleaning the same and all, no significant changes here.
Will take into consideration what u all said and try to find out what causes the problem, no pussy douche anymore, that's for sure the 1st thing i'll NOT do by now.
Many thanks to all, Love You!

Re: Genital hygiene related to camming
A very effective "douche" is a bath. Older ladies used to use those water bottles and fill it with water, or a water/vinegar mixture. Vinegar is really not necessary. Just lay back in the tub, put your legs up a bit and literally sort of "pat" your kitty and water will go inside. Then it will come out. It's sort of funny to say it, sometimes water just gets up in there in the bath anyway. Or you can push it out too once it's up in there. You will be surprised what comes out, just your normal fluids. But this helps to flush it out, with just water. Which is the best way. No soap...just water needs to be up in there or safe lube. You can use soap on the outside, that's where the sweat, skin cells and vaginal fluids all build up against your body heat and cause bacteria that's YUCKY. But no soap should EVER go inside you except for the little bit when showering.
Honestly, if you have sex daily with a real man, not a toy, and you don't get a yeast infection, then you shouldn't get one with your toys if you clean them right. Any woman who gets a yeast infection more than once in a blue moon needs to see a doctor. Your natural chemistry could be off down there and you need some oral medication to fix that.
