Just Started Camming and Need Help Please
Hello,
I have worked as a stripper in strip clubs in the past and am totally new to camming. I became a webcam model on Streamate.
I started camming and it seemed very frustrating to me. No one wanted to go private, just a lot of people entering and leaving my free chat room (for the most part). So then I noticed you can download some HD Video thing from Adobe and I did that and set it up, realizing that you have to set it up every time.
So then business picked up (a little) but I was tired by then.
My major problems are having to open the chat page and the HD Video thing so I can see myself on cam while being able to read the chat (since with HD the video window is blank on the chat page). I don't know how to have both pages open on my computer to see everything I need to see. By having both windows open, I have to scroll up and down the chat window and I can't see if there are people in my room.
So my biggest problems...
1. How do I get it set up so I can see myself and so I can see the chat (at the same time).
2. How do I make the chat window bigger so that I can actually read what people are saying, especially when I am farther from my desktop?
3. How do I slow down the action so that the chat customer spends more time with me?
4. I am using a Logitech Webcam 120 which is a black orb thing that sits on my flat screen monitor (clips on). How do I get a more panoramic view so I don't have to keep moving it around?
Need your advice ladies
thank you

4. Logitech C120 is a very basic cam. If you want better quality, widescreen and HD then you should upgrade your cam.

Re: Just Started Camming and Need Help Please
Thanks. Can you suggest the best cam?

Re: Just Started Camming and Need Help Please
There are lots, but many girls like Logitech C910 and C920. Both are very similar. Have great quality image and are fairly affordable $60-120 depending on where you buy one. It is a good idea to invest in a great cam as it will pay for itself in one or two shifts.

Re: Just Started Camming and Need Help Please
1. Open encoder. Open browser. Make your browser small (click the pair of boxes at the top right of your screen beside the red X box), and drag the sides of it so that it overlaps your encoder. Thusly...
Attachment 31712
2. There should be a setting on your chat to make text bigger - a magnifying glass.
3. Now if only we ALL knew this, hah! Best you can do is be engaging, ask them questions, chat to them, etc.
4. I have a Microsoft Lifecam, but there plenty of girls here who use Logitechs you can likely help you out!

Re: Just Started Camming and Need Help Please
If I go with something like a Logitech c920 with auto-focus can I remove some of the sharpness for a more romantic looking picture? (or to hide a zit)

Re: Just Started Camming and Need Help Please
Yes add filters to any cam through CamTwist program. You can also add txt to your feed or anything else.
I dont have perfect skin and C910 works fine for me. Cake on the make up and you are good to go :)

I ordered a C920. I downloaded ManyCam, maybe that has softening effects? If not I will remove it with Revo Uninstaller and try Camtwist.
Thank you :)

Re: Just Started Camming and Need Help Please
I have a Logitech C920, it's a GREAT cam but I also know what you mean about the sharpness, but I figure, hey, if the picture is THAT clear... That just means I can raise my prices even more! You get what you pay for baby! Good luck!

Just cake on the foundation. I was afraid of doing it at first but honestly, you can't see it. I use a thick foundation and a powder. In the real world I look like I don't own a mirror, but on cam I look gooood.

Re: Just Started Camming and Need Help Please
YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT FOR AWHILE, and this is the MAIN reason I hated the encoder. So glad that I used the search function this evening and found it. I was just that frustrated! :)

I do the exact same thing as this. ;D

Re: Just Started Camming and Need Help Please
I love my C920, it's the first thing I ever bought before I started camming. I have a really clear video feed, so it was a good investment. HD isn't as scary as you think, unless you look like Elephant Man lol. Just do the stage makeup thing, you'll be fine!

Re: Just Started Camming and Need Help Please
I may be getting a new cam today! How much does the C920 run? I may just go with a low cost cam for now, until I make a bit more money. I am using my laptop cam and it's a bit limited on what you can do. I want one that I can move around more easily.

Re: Just Started Camming and Need Help Please
I got my cam on Newegg.com I had been looking on Amazon and Ebay and it seemed sensible to pay fifteen dollars more to ensure I was actually getting a new cam and not a refurbished cam. I think I paid like $84.oo USD

I can't set it up like you have, maybe because I use a flat screen tv for my monitor, I end up not being able to see half of my vid (minimum) and not being able to see if there are people in my room.

What do you like and not like about each cam over the other?

oh so many things
logitech 9000 advantages over logitech C920
9000: it shows like you are further from the cam ( a bit) than u really are.
(920: shows you " up close")
9000: has a better color scheme and saturation
(920: less of it and the colors are not as vibrant)
9000: has a better contrast play
(920 has it too but when you play with it, it looks really bad- this is major for me, playing with contrast (aka, LESS contrast) can hide skin imperfections greatly)
9000 has better cool colors
(920 does not)
9000 has better warm colors
(920 does not)
9000
can adjust the exposure/brightness easier
920.. its wacky.

Re: Just Started Camming and Need Help Please
I just got the Logitech C920 and it is not compatible with my Internet or computer. So until I upgrade my stuff it will be collecting dust in the corner. It's funny my C310 is much more flattering to my coloring etc. the guys are always saying they love my milky white skin and red hair. I am actually really pink in real life.
