White girls working in predominantly black clubs
Hi..I am yet to dance but I am making baby steps towards it. I talked with an old high school friend who also used to dance and she recommended that maybe I should give a particular club a shot. The only thing is it's mostly a black crowd. I've drove by it a lot and even went inside a couple times with some girlfriends of mine but it was really before I had ever considered working there. What I remember was pretty much just black dancers and a couple hispanic/asian dancers. I'm sure white girls have worked there before it just doesn't happen as much.
My friend (she's black)..recommend I give it a try. I only talked to her online since she moved away but she had worked there several years ago. She's the type that gets along with everybody so I know not everybody is going to have the same attitude as her. But I'm wondering what type of drama I could go through if I did work.
She said I have the perfect body for that type of club. I am not skinny nor fat but I am thick in the thighs and big booty for a white girl. She said I could bank if I'm the only white girl there.
Anybody got experience being in this position? How did the girls treat you? I know it can very by location of the country but figured I'd ask here.
Re: White girls working in predominantly black clubs
I have no advice other than it might help to specify where you would be dancing, at least the city. Just because you said it can vary by location.
Re: White girls working in predominantly black clubs
I've worked in a few black clubs but never stayed long. The girls were cool, the customers were cool, I just wasn't making what I make in mixed clubs. I'm not extra thick so that may be part of the reason. It's weird though because in real life I get attention from WAY more black guys than white guys, but at work I get more white guys.
Re: White girls working in predominantly black clubs
Drama is the last thing you need to worry about at any club. You're there for money from customers, not to interact with the dancers. Just bring a lock to keep your stuff safe in a locker, be cordial but stick to yourself, and focus on making the most money possible. I say stick to yourself cause any friendship you've made will end the second that you see one of your buddies picking up some of your rain money and it's just easier to tell a girl that she's taking your money when you aren't close with her.
And if this is a high end black club like the ones in NYC/Miami/Atlanta/Houston, you probably won't make any money on stage if you aren't a good dancer or have a crazyyy body but that goes for girls of any color. If it's a lap dance type club then you'll probably do really good but a lot of black clubs are more about twerking than they are about lap dances and chatting with customers.
Try it out for a bit and see how it goes. You might be a hot commodity there since you'd be something different. You won't know for sure till you try.

Thanks girl..I also get a a lot more attention from black guys. Always have. Do you think it's possible the mixed clubs just paid better overall?
Re: White girls working in predominantly black clubs
I dont have experience in a black club but my guess is that you have an advantage over all of the other girls- you're bringing something different. I can see you banking because you're diff from the rest, which is cool because who wants to see the same thing over and over- you would get a lot of attention, for sure. Embrace yourself and your uniqueness. Go ahead, if you really want to but don't go cuz you're friend suggested it. Be in a club that works for you. And don't worry about the other girls, worry about yourself because that's where the drama comes in.

I did well in the predominantly black club I worked at. It mad a mid-tier club w mostly black and Hispanic girls. I was one of three white girls. :) give it a shot.
Re: White girls working in predominantly black clubs
The "snow bunny" angle can work for short term novelty appeal but after your fresh meat status expires you need to bring more to the table. Most black clubs I have been in have demanded 3 ring circus action.
As for the other dancers follow the above posted advice. Be cordial but don't try to be one of the crowd right away. Follow the same rules that you would at any other club.

Update: I am currently waitressing now at this club. The manager is going to let me dance soon but he wants the customers to "see who the next dancer is going to be". Basically to get them to keep coming hoping I'll be dancing "next time". From talking to the other girls he does this a lot. He also actually pays a little extra since I'm willing to put off the dancing for a few weeks. But I like the girls that work there. They welcomed me in. I went shopping wtih a couple at a store that sold outfits and shoes.
