Re: So, tell me, what WON'T you skimp on?
Food. At all. I've really gotten into eating REAL, unprocessed stuff since my hubs got sick. You get out what you put in, so I refuse to put crap into my body. If we want ground beef, we get steaks ground up at Whole Foods. I make yoghurt at home. Our milk is organic whole milk. Cheese is always good quality. We eat a ton of fresh, local produce.
We don't drink, or go out, so our "entertainment" budget is spent on food. Seriously between the two of us, our grocery bill is $600-$700 a month.

Re: So, tell me, what WON'T you skimp on?
Fruit and Veg', corn products, rice etc (organic, well where possible)
Meat and Poultry (only free range)
Eggs (cage free)
Everything Guten Free (Due to allergies. To skimp on bread etc would be sooo much cheaper, but not worth risking my health :(. I'd go without it, but the bf loves his toast etc)
Cheese (...mmm)
I find that I spend more on food a week than anything else, but I can't afford to skimp on it. When I was living in a different state I could go to the markets to buy fresh organic fruit and veg' pretty cheaply and I spent a lot less then-it's crazy how pricey organic food is at supermarkets here (Oz) IMO.

Re: So, tell me, what WON'T you skimp on?
I agree with mediocrity about the food thing. Our food budget has gone up a lot since moving here. A lot is imported so it's expensive, and I have to be VERY careful about where our food comes from if it's local. Some food comes from near the fukushima power plant explosion and the radiation levels are too high.
Btw Japan has RAISED its acceptable radiation level policy because so many of the produce and such are over the previous regulated levels and outs farmers out of business. It's absolutely ridiculous what I've found out in the last month since learning about it.

Re: So, tell me, what WON'T you skimp on?
Food: Pellegrino sparkling water, Zero water pitcher, name brand cereal and sodas(rarely drink soda though)
Household: toothpaste & mouthwash, tp, paper towels, Swiffer items like the dusters and floor cleaners(have several of the sweepers and mop things, kids+wood floors=O_o)
Beauty/Girly Items: only designer brand makeup and skin creams like YSL, Estee Lauder, Laura Mercier. VS lingerie and body sprays which I buy in the 5 for 35 sale so not too bad. I love Flowerbomb perfume which is pricey but I always blend perfumes with body sprays to have a unique scent so my perfumes always last. I also always have mani/pedi done but I get powder overlay and gel polish on toes and it lasts a while.
I have been MAJORLY broke before and can definitely live without the above things but yeah I work hard to prevent having to.

Dawn dish soap - cuts the grease better and you use less

Re: So, tell me, what WON'T you skimp on?
Btw. I totally judge people on what kind of toilet paper they buy. If its thin and cheap and disinegrates with a drop of pee then I am hardcore judging you and we are probably not ever going to be friends. If your toilet paper is thick and soft and nice then we can be friends.
