Re: So, tell me, what WON'T you skimp on?
- skin care products, I have sensitive skin so it's not even an option
- eyeshadow, foundation, concealer, eyeliner, lipstick, primer and makeup brushes. Yeah that only leaves out eyebrow powder (I use Gosh) and mascara (and only my volumizing mascara is the cheap kind, the lengthening ones I use are all midrange)
- cat food! I order my kitty's food online and it's expensive, but worth it. my little critter only deserves the best (that I can afford) :)
- toothpaste
- deodorant
- hair products (Joico & Redken)
- perfume
- lingerie
- razors

Re: So, tell me, what WON'T you skimp on?
1. Whitening strips- I only do the treatment a couple times a year but I found that any brand other than Crest has seriously burned/bleached my gums. Paying $10 more for a brand I prefer over seeing the dentist for a consult and treatment sure is more cost effective
2. Olive oil- I started using it not just for cooking but also for a skin moisturizer and shaving cream substitute and make up remover. BUT it has to be extra virgin olive oil.
3. My bread has to be while wheat, but I'm shifting into a paleo diet because my stomach has been having trouble processing gluten for some time, but I hadn't put my finger on just what might be bothering my tummy.
4.I've for to have TP in the house at all times, but I don't mind going for the single ply over the supr soft double ply stuff.
5.Deodorant
Soap

Re: So, tell me, what WON'T you skimp on?
1) Hair product (Murrays Superior, Black & White, Dax High and Tight, Freeze Spray)
2) Hair shampoo and conditioner (Fudge degunk shampoo and Dark and Lovely Cholestorol conditioner)
3) Hair stylist (A nice old lady who uses a razor to graduate my hair, by far better than the most expensive Toni & Guy Salon Director)
4) Exercise equipment
5) Chairs and Beds (orthopedically correct)
6) Food and Drink
7) Supplements
8) Condoms

Re: So, tell me, what WON'T you skimp on?
The only thing I could think of today at the store (for me personally) was lunch meat... the store brands are SO salty and bleck.
My dog and cat both eat pretty expensive food, Blue Buffalo and Simply Nourish, both between $12-$15 for 5 pounds. I fed them cheap food for a while when I was broke, and the cat barfed every day and they both had really dry coats and shed a pound a day. It's worth the extra money to me to avoid all that.

My dog eats Blue Buffalo too! I'm very picky when it comes to what he eats, always reading ingredient lists to make sure everything is made with "real" food. He definitely gets the best of everything!
I agree about the cheese and TP. But does anyone actually do the opposite - where you feel like you HAVE to have the generic brand, and don't actually want the name brand product? I feel that way about paper towels! Weirdly, it's nothing to do with cost at all - I just really like how the cheap ones feel. :D

Re: So, tell me, what WON'T you skimp on?

Re: So, tell me, what WON'T you skimp on?
- diet coke: the store brand just doesn't taste the same
- cell phone: I need to have an iPhone and unlimited everything even though I probably don't "really" need it
Everything else I'm pretty cheap with. Even if I do get name brands I use coupons or get things on sale. I also mostly shop at thrift stores.

That is always a smart and financially savvy thing to do. Even if that coupon is just 5 cents...its a savings and it does add up.

Organic fruits & vegetables, cage free eggs, grass fed beef.
Tanning and nails
Chanel makeup. (looks very natural and has a nice finish.)
Hair extensions. My real hair has been through hell because of a very strong medicine I have to take that has made it very fragile. So I use Cinderella organically bonded 22" beige blonde extensions. I love them!

Re: So, tell me, what WON'T you skimp on?
Chemical-less stuff like lotion, deodorant, and toothpaste. You have to pick and choose your battles though because bad chemicals are in almost everything.

Other than that I buy clothes and accessories at thrift stores. I'm still trying to give my cat the good stuff, but she seems to hate anything that isn't Purina indoor.
