How can I cam at night, and keep it quiet,so neighbors don't hear?
Hi Ladies, I would LOVE to cam during the busiest hours (for me), after midnight, when I make the most money, but my apartment wall is so thin, I can hear my neighbor cough!! and my apt. is so tiny that the entrance door is a few feet away. (P.S.-I already checked the thread on soundproofing, but it's not feasible where I rent). When I do cam during those hours, I'm always worried that my neighbor will complain about the noise.
Working the day shift is soooo greuling and it takes 6 hours, or more, to make what I can working 2 hours in the wee hours of the morning. Plus, I live where the weather is always perfect, so to not go out all day is so annoying! I feel like a shut-in!
Does anyone else have the same problem, and cam without sound, and not typing?
( Keep in mind, moving is NOT an option,by the way.)
Would love your feedback. Thanks so very much in advance!:-*

Two words. Ball. Gag. ......... XD Who knows, they might love that! But on a more serious note you can just experiment with no sound and if that doesn't work just try using a soft, sultry voice that doesn't carry quite so loudly. If you're working so late your neighbor would probably be asleep, so as long as you don't get loud enough to wake him I'm sure you'd be fine!

OK... use fabric on the walls like those heavy curtains, the ones that black out light and they say help keep the sound out... Just tack them up like there are wallpaper
Move your book case, or couch so that it on the wall that you share,
the more you put in between them and you the less sound you will have travel throu the walls
white noise will also help....( think like the humm of fan)
Get a mic with a cord and have it super close to you so you don't have to talk loud and they can still hear you

Just cam like you normally would.
If the neighbours complain or give you looks just casually mention that Brat Pitt came over.. again *sigh*, just don't tell Angelina.. okay?
She'll go crazy and it's for the best if this stays between these walls.

Just a thought ... do you think your neighbors are sleep at that hour? If so, then I wouldn't worry much about it, unless you're being extremely loud. Every morning my neighbor cranks his motorcycle (chopper) up right by my building. When I'm awake, that ish is loud. I never hear it when I'm dead asleep.

Can you cam in a different room of your house that is far from their bedroom? Not always practical, but if you have the option of camming on the other side of their bedroom, or the other side of their living room, they would be less likely to hear you from the other side of the house...
Other than that - definitely use heavy blankets...if you can, stick egg cartons to the wall, and then layer a blanket over it. Works wonders.

Re: How can I cam at night, and keep it quiet,so neighbors don't hear?
Thanks ladies for your suggestions! I do have a headset, and a mic, so I guess i will use them. I also have a white noise machine,so I will turn that on closer to my common wall where the neighbor sleeps. that sound when people enter the chat room is annoying, even when i have it turned down. I will use your ideas, because I've HAD it with daytime! Today was another 6 hours of barely reaching my goal, and i'm sooooo worn out, when i should be Starting my camming now. Oh well, tomorrow is another chance to begin night only work, because I haven't made my monthly money camming yet, and I only have until saturday to make it. Thanks again!

I live in an 800 sq. ft apt. Welcome to the city!

Depending on which site you are on, you should be able to turn that sound off. I know that SM has the ability to turn off alerts when someone enters the room...

There's so many good suggestions above already, & on my thread.
PS..where do you get a white noise machine, & how much is it? Thanks!

Re: How can I cam at night, and keep it quiet,so neighbors don't hear?
I cam in an apartment too late at night with pretty thin walls. I just play music softly in the background, a fan can help muffle sound too. Also just try not to be too loud....keep computer fairly close to you so your not yelling across the room. I've had nights where I just type also if I really need to be quiet.

Re: How can I cam at night, and keep it quiet,so neighbors don't hear?
Thanks so much Ladies! I did what you said-shut off the alerts on SM, used a sultry whispery voice, and VOILA! The guys LOVED it,and 5 zapped me into a long prvt, where i made more than i had working during the daytime. You Gals ROCK!! Muah! Have a prosperous week!

Re: How can I cam at night, and keep it quiet,so neighbors don't hear?
I get the complains from my husband says he can hear me moaning & groaning while he's in the living watching T.V., I have my music on not too loud but on low, he claims he can still hear me (I just think he has supersonic ears), but nevertheless, I do phone in my pvts and alot of the request are "let me hear you moan" or even through the build-in audio, so either way I complying to their requests. The head set & mic, just seems a little unattractive to me and possible be in the way of things. (Just saying).

Re: How can I cam at night, and keep it quiet,so neighbors don't hear?
You noticed I was on really late last night, and have been lately-it seems like the guys are so ready for prvts, that you don't have to say much, or talk to them much, or listen to them barking orders at you to show stuff in free chat. I won't use my mic,or earphones because they both get in the way for a great session, plus, at that time of night, I seem to pull in my best custies. I havn't had to use my white noise machine, because to me, that's just added noise for my neighbor to hear. Now that I know about the sound button on sm,it's alleviated most of the constant noise coming from the site, when people enter the room.
So far so good. let me know what you think. talk to you soon.

Re: How can I cam at night, and keep it quiet,so neighbors don't hear?
Although I don't deal with neighbors, I still like to have my privacy. So I have a fan facing me (so the noise is blowing to me rather than away from me) and I have a big dresser/mirror up against my wall to help pad the noise. So far no one in the house hears me :D A friend of mine used to do the egg crate with blankets over it back when she cammed, and swears by it. Plus it comes in handy if you're not able to paint, so you just toss a nice colored cloth or blanket up and take care of the decorating too :D

Re: How can I cam at night, and keep it quiet,so neighbors don't hear?
I was actually thinking about this last night. I was thinking one could get that foam egg crate type stuff and maybe pin it to the wall they are facing, the wall behind the cam but blankets would probably help. Also just telling your customer that you have to be quiet might add to his feeling that the two of you are getting away with something which may add to the sensation (for him). But also camming is mostly fantasy, you could probably be like, "OMG, I am so horny, I am yelling, I am moaning so loud, oh now I am orgasming, I am screaming because my orgasm is so intense!" And he would be eating it up like it was actually happening. Just an idea. The fan idea is interesting. Blankets are probably your best friend in this scenario, thick blankets.

Re: How can I cam at night, and keep it quiet,so neighbors don't hear?
- Move into a house if possible
- Buy a noise-reducing mic
- Purchase acoustic panels/partitions
- Noise-reducing curtains
Oh and this for your door: http://www.soundprooffoam.com/quiet-door-pro.html
Actually, 3 of the first 4 did not work for me, and I'm in the same situation as you (studio in a big city with door close to bed). I think I may have to buy that door thing, and a giant acoustic panel and let you know how it goes.
