It's important to be grateful.
There are a lot of people in our industry that want to take advantage of us, manipulate us, and use us - but, we shouldn't let our experiences with those people make us believe that EVERYONE is like that, and I think some of us need to remember to be grateful and say THANK YOU to the people that do genuinely want to help us because they care.
a friend of mine owns a cam girl classifieds site(,no, not Domino, but this applies to her as well!). It's a free service, but you can pay if you want extra ad space. He offers a payment processor that's safe, and he only takes 5% if you use it. He's helpful, respectful. and always there for models when they have questions..but he's thinking of shutting the site down, for a number of reasons. one of the biggest is that a lot of models are just plain rude.
They refuse to use his payment processor, they tell him to his face that they won't use Paypal but then turn around and tell their custies they ONLY accept Paypal, they yell at him for only allowing a certain amount of free ads and tell him that they shouldn't have to pay for extra ad space "just because"(you're allowed three free ads every 30 days). They don't use the payment proessor he's set up specifically for them..in general, a lot of the models treat him like dirt. I know Domino deals with her fair share of rudeness as well.
I know a lot of the girls in CC are extremely professional and polite, but this is just a reminder, and a bit of a rant, but..if someone is offering you free, no-strings-attached help, promotion, or ANYTHING..don't take advantage of them. Don't demand more than what they're already giving you, and don't act like an entitled little brat.
There are people out there that WANT to help us keep more of our money. They WANT us tp be sccuessful, and they take time out of their own lives to try and make our future better, and those people deserve to be treated with respect, and like people. We shouldn't tolerate members of our community acting like this. it feeds into every negative stereotype anyone's ever had about cam girls.
I'm sorry if this doesn't have a very good flow. I'm just upset. I don't like when honest people get fucked with. nothing bothers me more.
Re: It's important to be grateful.
Jaana, your friend is truly not benefiting from this service at all? I think most cam girls are at least a little suspicious of people who are trying to "help" us. They only problem is, more often than not, people are NOT out to help us. They see a sweet gig and want to cash in on it. And rarely are men who work in the cam industry "trying to help" us. That is just a fact. Come on, you should know, it's hard to trust an outsider as a cam girl, because our "allies" almost always are after a piece of our pie.
Re: It's important to be grateful.
Yeah and also? When members on here post in verified and also PM me asking for my advice when they are getting screwed over, members of verified and I offer advice, and then they do the EXACT OPPOSITE? That's also very disrespectful. Maybe my money is not getting screwed over directly but I have spent so much time PM backing forth with girls on here, time that I could have been camming, but I chose to help these girls instead because I know how it feels to be a the end of your rope and not know how to fix things. So when one asks me or other established girls on here for advice, we offer our suggestions to help that person, and then that person doesn't follow through but keeps complaining that life isn't fair? That isn't cool, either.

Ge only benefits if you use his payment processor or pay for extra ads. you can easily just do the free ads and then use your own payment processor that isn't Paypal.

I hope this wasn't directed at me because I've taken every single piece of advice you've ever given me to heart, same with the other girls in Verified.

Re: It's important to be grateful.
I know who Jaana is talking about in her thread here and of his website & he's always been helpful to me. I've never used any of his paid services, but he does offer free ad space, and he's always been polite to me. Yes, he's trying to make his own money off of us, but compared to the big box sites? He's making squat and he IS nice and helpful, I've video chatted with him myself before. It is in our nature to be suspicious, but as Jaana is saying, this guy is pretty nice and you don't have to use his paid services, but he is offering promotion for free, I USE said free service.... So I think what she's trying to say is to not necessarily be a stuck up, suspicious bitch immediately, just be smart about what you do. You can still be polite, even while having the upper hand.
Re: It's important to be grateful.
I have to second what Vela and Jaana are saying. Mark's background is working in IT for the adult industry, so he's no stranger to our work. He is a good guy that has a day job and he does this as a hobby. He is not looking to get rich off of any of us, but of course making a few bucks to justify his time spent on the site motivates him to keep the site running. He's a really nice guy and he's always been there to answer any questions I have. Honestly, he makes me look like a heinous bitch because his tolerance for BS is waaaaaaaay higher than mine. He's nothing but nice and patient with models, sometimes even when they do not deserve it.
