Is It Worth It?!?
I started dancing at a bikini bar a few months back (which used to be topless until law change) due to dwindling finances and wanting to use the money to have a better economic standing and finance my dream lifestyle.
I have learned a lot about the industry but I am wondering whether the money I am earning is worth the high cost (judgement/gossip from family and friends so I keep this job to myself plus dealing with "rachet" people too much) for me to even be there. I don't make what I believe I should make each day and it's very frustrating. I told myself that if every week I made more at this than I did weekly at my former job (which was about $500/week) it would be worth it. I want to see at least $100 (or more) everyday but sometimes I walk out owing money or just barely making the gas it cost to drive there and back.
I am not sure if it's my worrying about money or the reality that there are very few customers that come in while I am working (day shifts). I have heard many customers say "is it always this dead in here?" or "I can't believe you all can't show any tits". Or the other dancers saying "it used to be packed and we used to make a lot of money here".
I am wondering is it the club and the area? Or do men really need to see more skin (topless, etc.) to for a woman to earn more? Or is it something within me that I need to change?

Re: Is It Worth It?!?
Sounds like it's your club. Try a different one in your area.
As for whether or not doing this work is "worth it", that's a very personal question and the answer varies by girl. Sounds like you need to do some soul searching and figure out if this is something you want to keep doing. Money isn't everything and there's no shame in quitting if it's not right for you.

THanks shanna dior.
I wouldn't mind doing this if all my bills were paid (and I had some extra play money).
Until I can figure something else out - This is the only thing I know right now that was...
a) easy to get hired
b) flexible hours no set schedule - although I stick to mornings and
c) cash paid that day vs. 2 weeks for a check on a regular job
Many of the clubs have been shut down in the area one reason is they've been forced by law to convert to bikini bars - I am assuming the customers are less likely to come in because they're not getting what they used to.
But from reading what girls are posting about their earnings in the various states I am wondering if I should move somewhere with some greater earning potential or try to travel.

Travel is good for the soul and the pocketbook so long as you're able to keep working 2-4 shifts a week.

Re: Is It Worth It?!?
Have you considered a part time vanilla job while dancing part time? Use the $$ you earn dancing to supplement the reliable, albeit not humungous, paycheck, & anything leftover of course you would have for play money. I'd suggest looking at that as a possibility, along w/ looking for a different club/area.

Re: Is It Worth It?!?
Bekini clubs are really not good places to work. If you are paying flat fees regardless of your earnings that can be a huge problem because guys can see a lot more than girls in a bekini on the internet and at other clubs. I think that some people who want things to be like they were 20 - 30 years ago do an enormous amount of harm trying to "do good". When a city gets really strict like that the clubs become extremely dangerous and abusive because the girls have to make $ somehow. And lets face it, paying a millionaire to entertain the customers of the club by dancing in a bekini is not going to cut it. The club owners need to fight these people or just accept that they will be running a brothel that fronts as a bekini club. If you want to keep dancing try a different city. You don't deserve to be in an anti business environment.
